Beautiful 2 bd/2ba with a short walk to the beach. Option for 3rd, detached room
This is a great 2 bedroom/2 bathroom beach house is Carlsbad, CA. It is just a short walk to the beach and a 1 mile walk along the beach to Carlsbad Village Drive with various restaurants, bars, and shops.
We offer all of the amenities needed to make you feel at home. It is equipped with a full kitchen, linens, towels, AC/heater, Wireless Internet, Cable TV, washer/Dryer, and more! One bedroom has a king bed and the other a queen. Each have their own TVs. One bathroom has a large shower and the other has a large bath and shower combo. There is a large couch to sleep on as well. It could sleep 5 comfortably.
For your enjoyment, we also provide a ping pong table, BBQ, fire pit, outdoor shower, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, sand toys, and more!
This is one of two units on the lot so we as that you respect the back units space as far as cleanliness and noise goes. There is space for about 4 cars in front of the house for both units to share.
This is not a party property or a smoking house.
Both homes are true beach homes with hardwood floors, an outside shower, beach towels and other beach things. It is VERY dog and kid friendly.
Carlsbad is great beach town. It is beautiful and quiet. The weather is spectacular in the summer. Carlsbad Village is a little over a mile from the home. Legoland is few miles away. The San Diego Wild Animal Park is about 20 minutes away in Escondido. Downtown San Diego is about 30 miles away. San Diego has Seaworld, the world famous San Diego Zoo, Petco Park(home of the Padres), Torrey Pines Golf Course and all of the great restaurants and bars downtown has to offer. I have another listing downtown(vrbo #308442) if you would like to stay downtown for a few days.
The home is next to the train tracks. There are two types of trains. The first is the San Diego Coaster. It runs 10 times or so during the day. It is a commuter train and goes by in 2 seconds. It is not loud at all unless the north bound blows the horn right when its going by the house. It only runs during the day. The second are the freight trains. They are long and heavy. They are not loud, but are heavy. They come by two times or so per day. Sometimes they come by in the middle of the night, but that is rare. I lived in both houses for five years and they rarely disrupted my sleep, but I want to make all residents aware because if you are an extremely light sleeper or sleep during the day, it may be a problem for you. The address is 393 Date, Carlsbad, CA

Great little gem
Great little gem. We spent 2 weeks here and enjoyed it. The house was walking distance to the beach. We enjoyed the fire pit in the back yard. The house has a large natural gas bbq which we usd on a number of occasions. There is a lemon tree and orange tree as well as avocado (although too high to get the fruit). Enjoyed going into San Diego and Coronado. The train could be handy for that. There is the market on Saturday in Littlr Italy is worth going to. Don’t forget streetfest in Oceanside on Thursday nights. Excellent choice of international foods. Had dinner at Harbor Fish and Chips and Los Olas Mexican. Both great choices.
Was good for our family
The home worked well for our family, but I could not give this a 5 star review for several reasons. We felt the house is dated, and the beds were very hard. No instructions were left for us regarding accessing the guest house, or how to use the TV's. The house had a musty/dog pee smell, we could not get rid of it. It could be because the home is near the ocean and that is just the humidity??? The heater worked well, but there were not many blankets, and no sheets for the air mattress/sofa that a person could sleep on. There were extra pillows but no pillow cases. The home met our needs, but it is lacking in some things that could make the stay much more comfortable.
Great little house!
This is the second time we have stayed here and we will definitely do so again the next time we come to Carlsbad. The train takes a night to get used to, but after that it isn’t that big of a deal. Overall, great week!
A beautiful home
The location was excellent! The house was large enough to fit all 8 of us comfortably. Only a 15 min walk to the beach and a short drive to the closest grocery store. A few board games/movies/books for the kids would have been nice, but we managed. Overall, a wonderful place to vacation for a few days.
Great Place to Stay
I've been to several VRBO homes in Southern California and this was one of my favorites. It's small in appearance from the outside but felt spacious on the inside. Very clean and cozy.
Lots of nice conveniences like coffee makers (Old school and Keurig), laundry facility and hand soap. No car traffic being at the end of a cul-de-sac and just a 3 minute walk to the beach. The nearby beach area has two long paved walkways, one at sea level and one at road level. Lots of fun beach-town shops and restaurants to explore in the nearby Carlsbad/Oceanside/Encinitas area. About a 35-minute drive from downtown San Diego and 20-minute drive from La Jolla. Trains will occasionally roar by between 6:00AM and 11:00PM but we didn't find it to be a big deal - just something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper.
Fun Time in Carlsbad California
My family and friends enjoyed our special time at this wonderful location. Our son was getting married in Del Mar. Some of the groomsmen stayed with us and loved every minute. Very quaint and comfortable atmosphere. The kitchen was great. We were able to fix meals, without any issues. The beach style decor added to the ocean feel and beautiful surroundings. It was our home away from home and we hope to return. Thank you for making this residence available.
The home is about 5 miles from Legoland and a short walk to the beach. Oceanside bay is 3 miles away where you can enjoy kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and other water sports. Downtown San Diego is about 30 miles away
