This is one of two units on the lot so we as that you respect the back units space as far as cleanliness and noise goes. There is space for about 4 cars in front of the house for both units to share.
This is not a party property or a smoking house.
Both homes are true beach homes with hardwood floors, an outside shower, beach towels and other beach things. It is VERY dog and kid friendly.
Carlsbad is great beach town. It is beautiful and quiet. The weather is spectacular in the summer. Carlsbad Village is a little over a mile from the home. Legoland is few miles away. The San Diego Wild Animal Park is about 20 minutes away in Escondido. Downtown San Diego is about 30 miles away. San Diego has Seaworld, the world famous San Diego Zoo, Petco Park(home of the Padres), Torrey Pines Golf Course and all of the great restaurants and bars downtown has to offer. I have another listing downtown(vrbo #308442) if you would like to stay downtown for a few days.
The home is next to the train tracks. There are two types of trains. The first is the San Diego Coaster. It runs 10 times or so during the day. It is a commuter train and goes by in 2 seconds. It is not loud at all unless the north bound blows the horn right when its going by the house. It only runs during the day. The second are the freight trains. They are long and heavy. They are not loud, but are heavy. They come by two times or so per day. Sometimes they come by in the middle of the night, but that is rare. I lived in both houses for five years and they rarely disrupted my sleep, but I want to make all residents aware because if you are an extremely light sleeper or sleep during the day, it may be a problem for you. The address is 393 Date, Carlsbad, CA

The beach. Carlsbad is one of the most beautiful areas in the world and you are just a short walk to the beach staying here. If you want to enjoy a great, inexpensive vacation, Carlsbad is your spot.
The house is nicely decorated and furnished. It is also very clean and the beds were comfortable. We arrived the Thursday before Christmas and the garbage cans were still out waiting for pickup which didn't happen until the Monday we left. Same with the gardener sprucing up around the property; blowing leaves etc. The shared back area was messy - toys and sports equipment left out in the rain. So, it looked a little neglected during our stay. The train is VERY close and comes a lot but goes by very quickly. The neighbors in the house next door were partying and loud one night.
We had an amazing time and the house was perfect for us. We spent a week here with our children. The kids loved the pogo sticks and playing in the back yard area when we were not out seeing the sights. The house was complete with everything we needed. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay.
Just spent a relaxing week here. Well equipped cottage at the end of dead end street. The train didn't bother us at all and I am a light sleeper. Everything you need is here. Great walks to Carlsbad and the beach. Hop n the Coaster train to San Diego for cheap. Our dogs loved it too. You do share a yard with the back cottage so you just can't leave the dogs in the yard but it was not a problem. The fan in the living room works off a dimmer switch which could be explained on the welcome sheet along with how to operate the cable tv. Overall a great place
My friend and I shared this property for a week vacation at the beach. Both bedrooms had their own AC which was perfect because she is always cold and I am always hot. The house was very clean, had real comfortable furniture, was stocked with all kitchen necessities and had plenty of towels for showers. The only thing we had to buy was TP after we ran out of what was there. The beach was about three blocks away with parking right there. There are lots of yummy restaurants close by and we even had delivery one night after too many drinks on the beach. We used Uber for the first time and our rides arrived within minutes of us scheduling them. I never heard the train once I went to bed with the AC running. When I did hear the train during the day it was no big deal. The neighborhood is very quiet and we felt perfectly safe there. I definitely recommend this property and will stay again.
Excellent accommodations for a weekly stay near the beach in one of Southern California's most endearing Beach towns; Recommend it unhesitatingly.
The property is well kept, comfortable, and just a short easy walk to the lagoon and beach/ocean. Plenty of kitchenware, towels, and bedding as well as outdoor items such as beach chairs, towels and bodyboards. The pool table was a lot of fun. Beds are very comfortable. Yes, there is the train, but it did not deter from enjoying our time there. We are a family with 7 children and it suited our needs and wishes very well. Chloe was so easy to work with. Chloe - Thank you for allowing us to stay at this beautiful property! We had a wonderful week of making fun memories! We will certainly be booking another stay!
The home is about 5 miles from Legoland and a short walk to the beach. Oceanside bay is 3 miles away where you can enjoy kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and other water sports. Downtown San Diego is about 30 miles away
