The Loft is a unique private large 690 s.f. upscale cabin like structure. All of our previous guests have commented that the Loft is much bigger than it appears in pictures, that it exceeded their expectations and is much more charming than any of the pictures depict it. There is a bedroom area with a king bed, a kitchenette area equipped with small appliances, a dining area, a great living room area complete with a gas stove and a futon which converts to a bed, a single bed situated privately in a raised alcove accessed by a ship's ladder and a good sized bathroom with a generous size shower. The Loft has its own private entrance and closets. There is access to a beautiful private beach and lawn with a dock. The Loft has an outdoor grill, complete with a side burner that sits on the large private back deck in the woods, internet, air conditioning and both the back deck and front deck are both accessed by glass french doors which lets in all the light and makes one feel as if one is part of the outside. Enjoy outdoor living on your own expansive deck in the woods or on the lawn at the beach. Swim, kayak, sail or just take in the scenery and watch for the eagles and great blue herons at owners' private lakefront on Goose Pond, a large very clean and beautiful 270 acre lake of which the majority is in preservation. A short walk away (10 minutes) the Appalachian Trail provides great hiking opportunities, you can even walk around the top end of the upper lake or into the infamous Tyringham Valley! The area is spectacular. The Loft is near all of the cultural offerings of the Berkshires: Stockbridge Theatre Festival, Shakespear and Co., Norman Rockwell Museum, Jacob's Pillow, Naumkeg, Kripalu, just to mention a few. Trustees of Reservation hikes are close by too. Fantastic boutique shopping and great cafes are pleasant destinations in area towns. The Premium Outlet Village offers great outlet shopping and is just a 10 minute drive away. There are many great restaurants in the area.
We are on a beautiful lake, in the country but just a short drive to anything that you might wish to do here in the 4 season area of the beautiful Berkshires. The summer offers all of the cultural amenities that the Berkshires if famous for and the lake is warm for swimming. The early summer and fall are also perfect times to visit the Loft and the Berkshires in general. The area is quieter and the scenery is spectacular. Fall foliage on the lake is something not to be misted and the free standing gas stove makes the evenings in the Loft cozy and contributes to a warm and inviting atmosphere. Come and enjoy!
We have lived on Goose Pond all of our adult lives and have raised our children here. My husband actually spent summers here while growing up and has never considered living anywhere else.
Goose Pond is an incredible lake. We have always been in love with it. Goose Pond consists of 2 lakes connected by a channel. Upper Goose Pond is spectacular and is surrounded by National Park Land while much of Lower Goose Pond is in preservation too. It is a large 'mountain' lake that is very beautiful, clean, quiet and sought after by many especially those who kayak and canoe. Bird watchers will love it here. The bald eagle, great blue heron, osprey, loon and many others are seen almost daily. The lake provides great fishing and is stocked with salmon and trout and has native fish including bass as well. In the fall, the mountains around the lake provide spectacular views as does the hiking available throughout the area.
The Loft was perfect for our family of four! Our six year old and nine year old loved every minute! Goose pond is so clean, quiet and beautiful. We spent all day kayaking and swimming. Gail and Tim were so kind and helpful. We will definitely be back!
We had a wonderful vacation at the Loft on Goose Pond. Gail and Tim were accommodating and friendly hosts. Our favorite part was the private beach on Goose Pond. The water and scenery are beautiful. The Loft is very comfortable, modern, and clean. The location is convenient for all Berkshires activities, such at Tanglewood. We can't wait to return!
There are many wonderful things about staying in the loft. It is a well designed space with everything one needs. The kitchen is tiny, but it was sufficient for our needs. We used the large gas grill several times. The owners were very friendly and helped out in anyway they could. Our daughter liked the small alcove. It does get hot up there, but fortunately there was airconditioning. The bed is large and very soft. The very best part is spending time on Goose Pond. We used the kayaks almost every day. A few times we went to the very end of Upper Goose Lake Pond which is a nature reserve. One day we took a hike, just down the road, on the Appalachian Trail. The owners have 2 large, but very friendly dogs that were very sweet. The water in the pond was warm. They have a nice little beach. The pond is beautiful, but you cannot see much of it from the loft. You do look out onto either woods or a well kept flower garden.
We stayed at The Loft last weekend - two adults, two children (11 and 8). The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with everything you need. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake and visiting local towns. Great to have outside sitting space with a BBQ. Gail and Tim were great hosts and very helpful. We will be back soon!
My husband and I had a lovely and restful week at the Loft on Goose Pond. The loft is warm, very tasteful, and super cozy and comfortable. The space worked perfectly for us, and we appreciated the grill and outdoor table for dinners in the open air.
We were able to enjoy the lake and loved kayaking to Upper Goose Pond. We also took advantage of local hikes and activities even when the weather didn't fully cooperate. Gail and Tim were wonderful and accommodating hosts - present if we needed anything but we also felt we had privacy. I highly recommend the loft for a nice getaway - the whole area is peaceful and quite beautiful and we felt lucky to be there.
Three adults spent a delightful three nights here. Very comfortable, near a lovely pond, well situated for visits to Stockbridge, Great Barrington, Lexox and Lee. The loft apartment was clean, charming and very well equipped. The kitchenette had everything we needed. Two decks were a very nice bonus! The twin sized bed set into a dormer was a delight, the large feather bed was lovely, and the futon was easy to use and very comfortable. Cara, the daughter of the owners, was very helpful and friendly. Gail and Tim, the owners, were nice & considerate in getting some forgotten fishing gear shipped back to us in Maine. A wonderful time was had by all!

Kayaking, swimming and fishing at your private beach.
Fall is a gorgeous time here at the lake. Everything quiets down and the fall foliage at and around the lake is spectacular. The gas stove in the Loft makes it so very cozy.
