Overview

About the property

The Loft is a unique large open floor plan; awesome modernews cabin feel

The Loft is a unique private large 690 s.f. upscale cabin like structure. All of our previous guests have commented that the Loft is much bigger than it appears in pictures, that it exceeded their expectations and is much more charming than any of the pictures depict it. There is a bedroom area with a king bed, a kitchenette area equipped with small appliances, a dining area, a great living room area complete with a gas stove and a futon which converts to a bed, a single bed situated privately in a raised alcove accessed by a ship's ladder and a good sized bathroom with a generous size shower. The Loft has its own private entrance and closets. There is access to a beautiful private beach and lawn with a dock. The Loft has an outdoor grill, complete with a side burner that sits on the large private back deck in the woods, internet, air conditioning and both the back deck and front deck are both accessed by glass french doors which lets in all the light and makes one feel as if one is part of the outside. Enjoy outdoor living on your own expansive deck in the woods or on the lawn at the beach. Swim, kayak, sail or just take in the scenery and watch for the eagles and great blue herons at owners' private lakefront on Goose Pond, a large very clean and beautiful 270 acre lake of which the majority is in preservation. A short walk away (10 minutes) the Appalachian Trail provides great hiking opportunities, you can even walk around the top end of the upper lake or into the infamous Tyringham Valley! The area is spectacular. The Loft is near all of the cultural offerings of the Berkshires: Stockbridge Theatre Festival, Shakespear and Co., Norman Rockwell Museum, Jacob's Pillow, Naumkeg, Kripalu, just to mention a few. Trustees of Reservation hikes are close by too. Fantastic boutique shopping and great cafes are pleasant destinations in area towns. The Premium Outlet Village offers great outlet shopping and is just a 10 minute drive away. There are many great restaurants in the area.

We are on a beautiful lake, in the country but just a short drive to anything that you might wish to do here in the 4 season area of the beautiful Berkshires. The summer offers all of the cultural amenities that the Berkshires if famous for and the lake is warm for swimming. The early summer and fall are also perfect times to visit the Loft and the Berkshires in general. The area is quieter and the scenery is spectacular. Fall foliage on the lake is something not to be misted and the free standing gas stove makes the evenings in the Loft cozy and contributes to a warm and inviting atmosphere. Come and enjoy!

About Gail Puntin

We have lived on Goose Pond all of our adult lives and have raised our children here. My husband actually spent summers here while growing up and has never considered living anywhere else.

What makes this chalet unique

Goose Pond is an incredible lake. We have always been in love with it. Goose Pond consists of 2 lakes connected by a channel. Upper Goose Pond is spectacular and is surrounded by National Park Land while much of Lower Goose Pond is in preservation too. It is a large 'mountain' lake that is very beautiful, clean, quiet and sought after by many especially those who kayak and canoe. Bird watchers will love it here. The bald eagle, great blue heron, osprey, loon and many others are seen almost daily. The lake provides great fishing and is stocked with salmon and trout and has native fish including bass as well. In the fall, the mountains around the lake provide spectacular views as does the hiking available throughout the area.

Near Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow and all Berkshire cultural amenities; 10 minutes to AT for hiking; other hiking nearby; swimming, kayaking and fishing right from Loft; shopping at Premiere Outlets (10 min). Fantastic boutique shopping in all area towns. Great cafes and dining too. Spring is a wonderful time to visit Goose Pond area. The mist from the lake in the morning is gorgeous and it is still a great time to be outdoors and enjoy the beautiful lake and woods surrounding it. Great time of the year for boutique shopping too! The gas stove makes it cozy and the ambience is wonderful

Such a beautiful place

  • 5 of 5

Goose pond was so beautiful clean and peaceful. Close to so many great things. We went to Jacobs Pillow only a 15 min ride a definite trip worth taking. Went for a hike on the Cobble Loop trail and had the pleasure of meeting some thru hikers on the AT. Gail and Tim were so welcoming. We truly enjoyed the use of their lawn, kayaks and company. The loft was comfortable and certainly met our needs of 3. This was my second time staying and I will definitely be back.

Ideal lakefront Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the relaxed setting on the lake. Kayaks and a rowboat were available as well as the clean swimming water. We sat on the large lawn going down to the water. The loft had more room than we expected, with two decks. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed for our meals. We enjoyed grilling and eating outside! For the cool morning breakfast we had plenty of space inside too! We found our way to Tanglewood with ease...a very short trip. Nearby is the Appalachian Trail. We'd love to come back! We did love it!

Beautiful lakefront loft!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the loft for three days and enjoyed every minute of it. The lake is absolutely beautiful and very clean too. We loved the kayaking, swimming, and Gail and Time were kind of enough to give us a ride on their boat to Upper Goose Pond which is a must see. Great area - we hiked the Cobble Loop Trail (part of the Appalachian Trail), went to the Symphony and Theater. Overall, it makes a great trip. The loft was small, clean and cozy. Thank you Gail and Tim!

Beautiful Property with Wonderful Hosts

  • 5 of 5

My family of four stayed for a weekend at the Loft, which is a beautiful property. Gail and Tim welcomed us from the very beginning of our trip--they helped us navigate Goose Pond Rd and showed us around when we arrived. The Loft is impressive and cozy, and the private decks are great for taking in the peaceful surroundings. You can relax by the lake in lawn chairs and on the private dock, and swimming in the clear, refreshing water is a must. We received excellent recommendations from Tim and Gail about nearby restaurants and traveled to the nearby Jacob's Pillow and Berkshires Theater Group at Stockbridge. We kayaked on Goose Pond for hours, and when a rainstorm quickly set in, Tim went above and beyond by coming out onto the lake in his own boat to rescue us! We cannot speak more highly of our experience at the Loft and wish to thank Gail and Tim for the wonderful weekend.

Excellent location and accomodations!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I needed a place to stay while attending concerts at Tanglewood on a Sunday morning and Tuesday evening. The Loft worked out perfectly for us. Not interested in eating out every day, we appreciated the well-appointed kitchen and the large gas grill. The Loft was very clean and well-stocked with all the necessities. Tim and Gail were quick and easy to communicate with. I used their kayaks and enjoyed the beautiful pond (lake!). We will certainly look into staying here again on future trips to the area.
