About the property

3 Bedroom 2.5 bath with views of Bishops Peak and San Luis Mountain

Remodeled 3 x 2.5, executive home with amazing Bishop's Peak views. 15 minute walk to downtown or Cal Poly. Royal mahogany hardwood flooring for comfortable living. In-floor heating throughout with exec kitchen, island cooking, maple cabinets, bar and separate dining area.

Pool and Ping Pong table and 65" mounted Samsung Smart TV. No cable (because it's absolute garbage programming;-)

Deck and back yard view to Bishop's Peak with BBQ, Traeger grill, patio heaters, and fire pit. Views of San Luis Mountain opposite Bishop's Peak.

Hike downtown for lunch, then pick up the trail-head for San Luis Mountain (101 and Higuera St.). Pick up the trail and head Northwest back toward the house. You'll find amazing views as you back in to the neighborhood.

Located in historic San Luis Obispo, CA on the central coast and right in the middle of wine country. Approx 9 miles to Moro Bay, Pismo, Oceano Dunes, and Avila Beach. Walk or bike downtown or to Cal Poly, both are about a mile from the house. We are also within a short drive to numerous lakes which are great for wake boarding, fishing, or kayaking.

We have great restaurants, unique shops, and amazing walking paths along the creek downtown. Frisbee golf in wide open parks, museums, hiking and wineries are also waiting to be explored. We have spectacular views in every direction. Borrow our bikes and leave your car behind, or simply start walking and you'll be hiking the beautiful trails within minutes.

Our remodeled home is of 50’s era, located right on the slope of San Luis Mountain looking over to Bishop's Peak. We added about 1,700 sq. feet, total 2,900 sq. feet, so it's very comfortable and the layout flows well between bedrooms and living area.

The trail heads to either mountain summit are a short neighborhood walk away and the views from the top are amazing. Our neighborhood is very quiet, safe, and tranquil, perfect for either a relaxing weekend, longer term stay, or a work trip that requires some concentration.

The home is remodeled with open space design, upscale but still very homey. Master bathroom with walk-in shower and a very comfortable queen BeautyRest pillow top bed. Bedroom #2 is new memory foam bed, completely redesigned with original hardwood oak flooring. A fold out couch and office desk is in Bedroom #3.

The entire house has radiant in-floor heating, including the original section of the home which has also been insulated.

Bedroom #3 doubles as an office, spare bedroom with double couch bed, and guest bath near the entry way so it is very quiet and separate from the upstairs master which is locked up while owners are away.

The space flows well and is very comfortable for a longer executive stay where a furnished home is required for temporary housing.

We'll consider any stays as short as a month and as long as a year. It mostly depends on our travel schedule so please inquire and we'll discuss.

We're looking forward to your visit!

About Russ Lovell

Long-time SLO residents. Kids are gone and we're traveling while you enjoy our home, our awesome neighborhood, and amazing community.

We like to travel in our RV as well as overseas, and renting out our home allows for travel. We love to golf, ski, camp, boat, BBQ, and hang with friends/family.

Russ Lovell purchased this house in 1995

Why Russ Lovell chose San Luis Obispo

It's in SLO, the perfect place to raise a family. This is where we raised the kids and where we continue to have our family reunions and other celebrations. It's home.

What makes this house unique

If you like to hike, this is gem. You can walk out the front door, up the street and enter the Madonna ranch where there is a hiking trailhead. It's not used by the public, only locals.

Try our "Urban Hike". It's a combination of downtown hike through Higuera street and San Luis Mountain back to home: Walk about a mile to downtown through the neighborhood and get lunch, a beer, and do some shopping. When you've had enough of historic SLO, it's a short walk (500 yards) down Higuera to the Madonna mountain trailhead. It's really San Luis Mountain but you can cross over the mountain right back to our home. About a mile hike. 2 mile hike total.

The perfect home in the perfect central coast town

  • 5 of 5

Russell and Cheryl's home was wonderful! The house and yards are beautiful (the pictures of Bishop's peak are even more stunning in person). Everything one would expect was provided for--the kitchen was easy to cook and entertain in with everything one could possibly need, the beds are comfy, and the home was very clean. As guests, it was obvious that Russell and Cheryl have put time and attention into making sure their guests feel comfortable and at home during their stay.

The house is located close to everything: minutes from Cal Poly, grocery stores, downtown, great freeway access for trips to the beach, wine tasting, hiking--all that the beautiful central coast has to offer. Hiking San Luis (Madonna) Mtn is steps from their front door, no car needed.

Russell and Cheryl were easy to work with, available to answer questions but not intrusive. Overall, just a great experience and I would highly recommend!
