About Debi Howe

My husband and I have traveled to the Caribbean for 20 years and our dream came true with the purchase of this house. We live in Michigan so having a vacation home in St. Croix helps us escape to some warmer weather in the long winters. We have two children who both live in Michigan.

Debi Howe purchased this house in 2004

Why Debi Howe chose St. Croix

We selected this property because number one we wanted to be under the US Flag and two because of the views, the location to amenities, the privacy, the open floor plan and enough room to accommodate all our family and friends when they visit.

What makes this house unique

Our favorite spot is to sit on the pool deck and watch the sea, it is so relaxing and peaceful.

Perfect and Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

This property was incredible. From the beautiful views to the comfort of the house to the hospitality and quick responses to our needs, I would highly recommend this property to anyone. We have already booked it for next year. The house was clean, great customer service, close proximity to stores and restaurants. Thank you!

I've been to this property three times and just absolutely love it. But then, what isn't to love? I've stayed in both the main house and the apartment below and would recommend either. The view is fabulous. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated, and well maintained. I love all the beaches on St. Croix especially Buck Island and the snorkeling. I love to swim so other favorites of mine include Rainbow Beach, Cane Bay, and Sandy Point. After spending a great day at any of the beaches, what better way to end the day than to relax by the pool, sip a rum punch, and enjoy the view. While in St. Croix a trip to Point Udall is a must with the vantage points it has to offer. I look forward to spending more time there in the future!

Best vacation we have ever had

  • 5 of 5

We go on vacations every year but this house was so amazing! We can't wait to go back. The house is very comfortable with so much room. We enjoyed a different beach most everyday, however we also used the pool most everyday as well. We loved sitting out by the pool and looking out at the amazing Caribbean Sea, what a view! For anyone looking for a great vacation stay I would highly recommend Rhapsody in Blue.

Great Place - Better than the pictures make it look.

  • 5 of 5

I loved my weeklong vacation at this house. My family went there for a week with 2 rental cars. The rental cars are a must. We were met at the airport by the people renting the house and followed them to the house. That was needed at first but I quickly learned the island. It's pretty easy to get around. They even pre-stocked the house with groceries that we picked out since we came in Christmas Day and were concerned about finding anything open. It was great service.

The house is off the beaten path and secluded. The house is very nice and great to hang out in. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all together and open and it makes for great entertaining. It was easy to get around on the island. I particularly liked Buck Island for snorkeling and Issac's Bay was a great secluded beach that also had decent snorkeling. You have to seek out adventure on this island. If you want a resort atmosphere, St. Croix is not for you. If you love cool, small beach towns with their own vibes, St. Croix is the place to explore.

Other great places to see are Cane Beach and Rainbow Beach. It's also worth seeing the bar that has the beer drinking pigs but I can't remember exactly where that was.

Great vacation and a great house.

Excellent! Too much to do! Too little time!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Rhapsody in Blue far exceeded my expectations. My friends and I planned to use the house as a launching point to explore the rest of the island. Upon arrival the stunning ocean view was incredible! To sit pool side with the Caribbean as a backdrop was too much. I hadn't anticipated that I just wouldn't want to leave the house! But alas, leave we did.

From Rainbow Beach to Point Udall, the islands mysteries unfolded. Whether it was the social settings of shopping downtown, the beaches, fine dining to nightclub hopping, or the quiet, all-alone solitude of the island's remotest regions, this house was awesome to return to. I almost couldn't wait to get back home and lounge by the pool. (Even though exploring was really fantastic! You should see the 650 pictures I took!)

When traveling and lodging with friends, it is important to have "private" spaces. This house provided that, and then some. We were able to retire to the lovely guest rooms for private moments and intimate conversation, or pop out into the public areas and be social. The space for both was more than ample. Additionally, all the furnishings, artwork and decor was remarkably tasteful and exuded island charm. It was total comfort at every level, all the way down to the laundry room! (Which we used a lot! Hint.... Don't pack so many clothes.... just wash them there and travel light!) Suffice it to say, we didn't want to leave for home. When you go, plan extra time. Ten days wasn't enough!

Also, when you go, make sure you go to the remote Dominoe Club to give a shaken can of beer to the enormous pigs. They crush it in their teeth and drink it down. Plus, the jungle setting is mysterious and delightful.

Also, if dining out, the Pickled Greek is close by and really fun. Also close is the Buccaneer, and Cane Bay. Some places were a little "out of my league," but at least stop in for a soda, or a cocktail to take in the atmosphere.

Happy travels! I hope to return someday!
