Located slightly north of Harrisville, MI, this secluded property is located on 200+ feet of beautiful sandy beach. The home is spacious, it sleeps up to 11, has 2 full baths, kitchen, dining room, living room with flat screen/DVD, satellite TV, internet, screened in porch, large deck with gas grill. Master bedroom suite with king bed, full bath, flat screen w/ satellite and attached room with bunk beds. Upstairs is split with king bed and single bed on one side (w/ flat screen/DVD) and 4 beds on the other side (w/ flat screen/XBox).
We truly enjoyed this property. It's tucked way in and very private. The beach area was great, kids had a blast. The house was nice, but our favorite part was the screen in porch! Spent much time out there when we needed to get out of the sun or rain, but still able to enjoy the outdoors. Played cards out there as well. Could use better lighting for night but we managed. We were a little surprised at the bedroom situation, as it really isnt 4 bedrooms. The upstairs is a big loft. Lots of beds, but no doors or closets. It has half walls at the stairs to put beds up against, but the rest is open. We worked it out for our family, but would have been better prepared if we had known this ahead of time, as actual doored rooms would have worked best for us and little ones. But it worked out. The master is big and nice. The other bedroom is in the master with a pocket door. If you're going to spend time here, might bring a couple of fry pans, as some of the ones provided should have been thrown out. The coating on them was very warn and not safe, in my opinion. Otherwise, well stocked. The sunrises were gorgeous, made fires and s'mores several nights. Really enjoyable trip.
Great secluded location, a short distance off of US 23. Roomy house with plenty of dining space, windows definitely need an upgrade. House sleeps twelve but there are actually only three bedrooms. The grounds are beautiful with a sandy beach and sandy (no rocks) swim area. Very short drive to Harrisville, new supermarket in town has all your needs. The grounds have a nice fire pit, the beach area is close to the house and there are two nice kayaks and plenty of beach toys. We had eleven in our party, the kids had a blast, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.
We have rented cottages near Harrisville for as long as I can remember, and this house is absolutely the best one we have stayed at! The house was perfect for our vacation; extremely spacious, exceptionally clean, and had anything/everything you could want while on vacation! Not only was the house perfect and fully stocked, the views and the spot on the beach were perfect. The beach was clean and it was amazing to be able to walk right from the bedroom to the deck and/or beach. The owner, Mike, was very responsive, easy to work with, and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. We would ABSOLUTELY recommend this home again, as well a rent it in the future!
A spectacular private house on the beach. A perfect place to spend time with family or friends. You feel like you have the whole shore line of lake Huron to yourself. The house is clean and comfortable. It is packed with everything you need to have a fantastic week.
This will be our 6th year renting this cottage from Mike. I love this place! I wish it were mine (: We are so grateful to Mike for sharing this gem with us and others. I think everything about this cottage is lovely. It sleeps at least 12 comfortably with enough space inside to lounge around if you feel the need to be inside. There is a great enclosed sun porch with furniture and dining table to eat in while enjoying the panoramic lake views. The outside has a big porch with furniture, plenty of space for yard games and of course beautiful Lake Huron right out your door. The beach itself is small but plenty of room for chairs and blankets to sun bathe. The lake out here is sandy, clear and shallow for a bit so perfect for little ones. You can walk the beach (lighthouse to the north), have bon fires, star gaze, lay in the hammock (provided), bar b q, ETC. The location is close to Alpena for movies if you choose or Oscoda for canoeing on the Ausable. I highly recommend this place, you wont be disappointed. Looking forward to my time there this year.
If you are looking for a great cottage with a great location on the lake, you have found it!
The backyard opens up to a spectacular panoramic view of Lake Huron where we enjoyed BBQ's, bon fires, chilling in the hammock and late afternoon strolls along the lake.
The cottage is worth it too! A great place to spend time with family and friends.
There is ample space inside for lounging around, and the amenities were great too, from the cozy beds to the well equipped kitchen.
Meanwhile, the property is conveniently located a short car ride to downtown Harrisville and local events and festivities.
The owner Michael is an easy going guy and made sure everything was in order for our stay.
If you are looking for a great cottage on Lake Huron to hang out with family or friends do not hesitate about this place.
