Overview

Smith Mountain Lake House Rental Photos and Description

Lakefront 3 BR, 2.5 bath home with large deck and gameroom.

Enjoy your lake vacation in our beautiful 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home. Large, open floorplan combining kitchen, dining, and living room overlooking the lake. A first floor game room with laundry and a half bath, two bedrooms on the main floor, and a loft master with ensuite bath and jetted tub!

Imagine waking up to longwater views and enjoying your morning coffee out on the deck surrounded by peace and tranquility. For breakfast, either fix it your self in the fully stocked kitchen designed specifically so you catch the full view of the lake while cooking on the electric, flat top Jenn Aire stove, or call in a hot breakfast order and pick it up at Diamond Hill General Store, a short 5 minute drive away.

Spend the day fishing off the splinterless Trex dock, sunbathing on the dock's upper level, or swimming in the warm, clear water of the lake. Hop in the canoe or paddleboat and explore the shoreline without all the boat traffic of the main channels. Or if you brought your boat or jet ski, there is an extra slip in the dock just for you! (If you didn't bring a boat or jet ski, rentals are available at the marina about a 20 minute drive away).

Anyone up for a game of ping pong or foosball? Try out the ping pong or foosball tables in the game room for a bit of fun, or to pass the time while doing laundry. (A full size washer and dryer are in the laundry closet of the game room).

Perhaps you'd rather go in to Bedford and explore the little antique shops or head to the marina to people watch and feed the catfish. Either direction, it's about a 20 minute drive.

After watching the sunset, head out to the drive-in (yes, an actual drive-in movie theater!) with a full service diner! Of course, if you'd rather watch a movie at home, select one of ours or grab one from the Red Box at the Food Lion (10 minute drive), pop it in the Blu Ray player to watch it on the large 3D flat panel television while relaxing on the oversized L shaped sofa in the great room!

Winding down for the evening? Take a nice long soak in the jetted tub in the master suite before climbing into the comfy, cozy, king size pillow top mattress bed. You'll drift right off to sleep. And don't worry about the rest of the family, they will have their own queen size pillow top mattress beds to sleep on!

To find out what is going on at the lake during your visit, check out the SML Chamber of Commerce Calendar of Events at http://business.visitsmithmountainlake.com/events/calendar/.

About The Owner

Jeff and Kim live in Virginia and built this house as a vacation home for their family. Both of us have family spread all over the United States and we wanted a place where our children and other family can come once a year to gather and reconnect. Kim is a 'military brat' who learned early on that 'home is where you hang your hat'. Having moved around from state to state and country to country during her childhood and most of her adult life, Kim wanted a permanent place to 'hang her hat', Roxy Park is that place. Jeff originally hails from Chicago and also moved around due to his father's job. He settled in Virginia over 20 years ago and has never looked back. Jeff fell in love with Smith Mountain Lake the first time he visited and convinced Kim that it was the perfect place to build a vacation home. He was right!

Kim is a novice stained glass artist and you will see several pieces of stained glass that she created in our home.

The Owner purchased this house in 2011

Why The Owner chose Smith Mountain Lake

Jeff wanted a vacation home at Smith Mountain Lake since the first time he visited the lake. Convincing Kim took a bit longer than he expected, but standing on this lot at dusk and watching the sun set across the water convinced them both that this was 'THE' spot. We originally designed the house on a napkin, then on graph paper, and finally had the plans professionally drawn up so that a builder could make our dream a reality. The home has surpassed our expectations and we never tire of that view.

What makes this house unique

Can't say enough about the view! The all glass front of the house allows us to take full advantage of the view from nearly every room in the house. The oversized dock is a family gathering place and allows us to all enjoy whatever it is we love to do best while being together. It's not uncommon to have sunbathing, fishing, book reading, canoeing, and jet skiing all going on from the dock at the same time!

Quiet weekend before the summer season

  • 4 of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend getaway at the Roxy Park. There wasn't too much commotion because the summer hasn't technically started yet, so it felt like we had the lake to ourselves. We took the canoe out several times, did a little fishing, grilled our meals every night. I could not have asked for a better time. Even the rain didn't bother us because it was cool to see a storm over the lake. Definitely recommend this rental and hope to come back in the near future!

Great family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at Roxy Park last June. It is a beautiful house! The house was clean and just the right size for us (family of 4). We loved that it is tucked back in the woods, but a close drive to Moneta. We rented a small pontoon boat to explore SML and were able to tie it up to the dock. The kids loved using the paddle boat and the ping pong table in the basement. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone with a smaller group (up to 6) or family. The owners were super nice when we had questions. Just with many houses on SML, that the walk down to the water and dock is a little steep and got a tad slippery after some rain. Awesome vacation! If we go back to SML we would definitely stay at this house again. Thanks!

Love Roxy Park!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Roxy Park twice now and love this home and beautiful lake front views. We stayed a week in August and 4 days in November. The home is perfect for 6 or less people. Beautiful kitchen with everything you need. Great family room and deck with beautiful views and great for movie watching. Bedrooms and baths are very nice and comfortable. My family loved our time there. And the home owners are so nice and there are so many special little touches that make your stay enjoyable (including a fire pit and S'mores, ping pong, fuseball, paddle boat, movies, WiFi, beautiful dock, outdoor grill). And Smith Mountain Lake is beautiful. Lots of great site seeing and restaurants around the lake, in Roanoke, and Bedford. And great for outdoor lovers. We love hiking in the mountains and parks. Thanks again to Jeff and Kim for sharing there beautiful home.

Friends Get Away

  • 5 of 5

Our weekend at Roxy Park with dear fiends was fabulous! The house was beautiful, with all the accommodations and extra special touches the owners provided. The house was clean, spacious and very comfortable furniture throughout. We appreciated the information owners provided about the surrounding area for restaurants, grocery stores, activities, and must sees. However, once we arrived at Roxy Park, we didn't want to leave. We did venture out for a great dinner at the LIberty Station restaurant in Bedford. The view of the lake surrounded by the trees with Fall leaves was spectacular. The area is quiet and peaceful. A great place to relax and enjoy eachothers company. The sunny day we spent on the boat deck, canoeing, and a fire pit. The rainy day didn't dampen our spirits. The view from inside was peaceful as we enjoyed watching football games, playing ping pong, and catching up with our friends. Yes, we would recommend this property to others, as long as they don't pick our return dates!

Great Gathering Location

  • 5 of 5

Our family met here, coming from three different locals. It was a great spot to kick back and spend time together. The Roxy Park Lake house was well equipped with anything you need and felt like home when you walked in. There was plenty to do including canoeing, ping pong and a great deck on top of the boat dock. The view is great and you are on a quiet cove. The owners were quick to respond to any questions and very helpful. Hope to make it an annual event!!
