About Laurie Beeman

Trev and Laurie both love this private gem on the Sunshine Coast and would love to share it with you! Laurie was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast and really enjoys the beauty, nature and sense of community on the Sunshine Coast.

Trevors family has owned property in Secret Cove since the 1970's and really enjoys the outdoors and fishing in the area.

Laurie Beeman purchased this house in 2012

Why Laurie Beeman chose Sunshine Coast

This is such a unique piece of property. You are close to the ocean and an expansive sky. Part of this property has been owned by Trevor's family since the 70's and it is so beautiful and peaceful here. When we had the opportunity to buy the rest of the property, we felt lucky to have the opportunity.

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with the expansive sky, the ocean, the wildlife, and sense of peace here. It is truly unique with no traffic noise, only boats, and sealife. When we saw a stellar sea lion playing with a salmon in the ocean in front of the house, we were captivated!

Wonderful place to unwind, relax and enjoy.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time and will definitely be back. This is a great home for either a small group or couples. Laurie was a very pleasant host and made sure we knew everything that we needed to know and also made great recommendations on things to do in the area. She was also kind enough to leave us a bottle of wine and some other goodies as a treat. Thank you! Highly recommended!

Great place to get away from it all

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic place! Me, my wife, and 2 other couples stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were greeted by Laurie with a lovely gift basket and tour of the place.

Many places say they can sleep 6 but often that means 2 or more people are sleeping on a couch or in the living room. No, this is three nice bedrooms and each room has access to their own toilet/sink. The hot tub has a great view and even when it was raining it was an amazing view. Much of the home's decor is locally sourced, and overall is beautifully put together.

The location is great for getting away. Just make sure to either get what you need on the drive in or be ready to head out to Sechelt 20 minutes away for groceries or eating out. There's also a nice pub 15 minutes North along the highway.

Owner's Response: So glad that you and your friends had a great getaway at the Bird's Nest. It is a great place to relax even when the weather is overcast, with the large windows overlooking Secret Cove. There is also a restaurant at Rockwater resort which is five minutes away, as well as the Upper deck right in Secret Cove in the summer. The Grasshopper pub 15 minutes up the highway is a great place to eat year round, and the Painted Boat. So many choices! Hope to see you back one day!

Great place on the Sunshine Coast

  • 5 of 5

Laurie's house is a great place to stay in one of the best locations on the Sunshine Coast. It's a recently updated home with lots of thoughtful touches, all the convenience you could want and plenty of room to spread out (indoors and out). We visited as a family of four and had plenty of room. Beautiful gardens and a path down to an idyllic dock. Superb location for water activities, trips to Thornamby Island and also close to lots of mountain biking trails. Laurie and Trevor are gracious, welcoming hosts.

Excellent Stay & Beautiful home location

  • 5 of 5

Laurie's place in Secret Cove is a gem in the Sunshine Coast Area. Our first impression when we got there was, what a beautiful place and home! Private dock, row boat to use made crabbing easy and accessible. Along the stairs up from the dock towards the house, there are various seating areas where we could sit and enjoy the chirping of different species of birds and enjoy the sea breeze.

Laurie's home consists of a full kitchen with samsung kitchen appliances, such as a convection stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer if you need to wash some clothes after coming back from a rowing session in the ocean. The kitchen also has all the utensils, bowls, plates, cookie sheets, big wooden salad bowl (beautiful, I need to get one), salt, pepper, butter, olive oil, coffee maker and lots more. Making meals in the kitchen was enjoyable and a breeze. We also used the fancy kitchenaid brand bbq outside and made perfection steaks.

The bedrooms are also beautiful and comfortable, equipped with three queen sized beds with plenty of room. Will definitely come again! Thank you, Laurie for letting us use your place for a short memorable vacation!

Owner's Response: Ashley, it is guests like you and your friends that make us realize that we shouldn't take this little piece of paradise for granted. I enjoyed hearing that you all really liked getting out in the rowboat and catching your own crab for dinner; what a treat. Hope to see you again one day!

Outstanding hosts and gorgeous property!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 (5 year old twins and Grandma, myself and my husband) stayed at Laurie and Trevor's house for 2 nights. I communicated with Laurie when booking their place and Laurie was very generous and understanding of our situation. Their home was clean, well stocked and tastefully decorated. We had everything we needed, the beds were comfy and it was nice that Grandma had her own room downstairs. The decor inside the house and outside is very nice and zen-like. We enjoyed the little statues, plants, treasures throughout the yard and down the path to the docks. The flame-less candles were a nice touch for those who have kids but still wanted the ambiance. We enjoyed having our meals on the large patio while watching the birds and breathing in the fresh air.

The kids loved swimming at the beach and discovering, oysters, crabs, fish etc. The highlight was taking Grandma and the kids out on a boat. It was Grandma's first time, since she has a fear of water and gets seasick easily. The waters were calm and very pleasant. She and the twins also caught their first fish and crab! We also got to feed the eagles and that was an amazing experience to see! We were planning on visiting other beaches but it was so relaxing and gorgeous here that we stayed the whole time. The stars at night were so amazing!

Thank you Laurie and Trevor for making this happen for us! This trip will be forever be etched in our memories as there were a lot of "firsts"for us that our kids and Grandma got to experience. Meeting you and Trevor made it extra special too!

Owner's Response: Nancy, it was so nice to have your family enjoy some bonding time here. Your twins were so adorable, and very adventurous. Please thank them for the rock art they left us. I am glad your family had the opportunity to get out on the rowboat, and that your mom faced her fear and went out on the ocean too! Really look forward to you returning!

Beautiful Coastal Holiday Home

  • 5 of 5

Excellent getaway for quality family time! The house was beautiful - very clean and modern, well stocked, and comfortable. We enjoyed nearby hikes as well as just walking around the area. Kids loved looking for starfish and crabs down by the water and paddles in the row boat. They also really enjoyed the pool and waterslide at Sechelt leisure center on a rainy day. It was nice to have Laurie just next door for assistance when needed, she went out of her way to ensure our comfort and was willing to answer questions about the area. Thank you so much for having us, we really enjoyed our stay!!
