Sue Singleton purchased this lodge in 2004
The Location of the Lodge itself is on a remote mountain lake with spectacular views where you can truly get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and enjoy the quiet of the wilderness broken by the occasional coyote howling in the distance. At night we have very little light pollution up here on the Lake and star gazing is a favorite past time. If you have a telescope and are looking for a great location to star gaze while on vacation this is a great place located at an elevation of 8,300 feet.
The location to the Lake is wonderful and a short walk to the mouth of the Florida River where it empties into Lemon Lake. This is the honey spot for trout fishing.
No need to travel to the forest because you’re right in the middle of the San Juan Forest with your own private access to the Forest from Lemon Lake Lodge property. Just walking out the door from the Lodge is a door opening into the wilderness. From there all you have to do is put one foot in front of the other and you're in prime wilderness and at times you may feel like you’re footsteps are the very first footsteps ever on your path.
We are located near two major trail heads for hiking and horse/mule pack trails. The trails are very well maintained and offer all levels of experience to enjoy.
No neighbors that you can see from the Lodge. It is total un-obscured wilderness and mountain lake views
Location was right across the street from the lake. Beautiful scenery and great fishing. Place accommodated our large family gathering with room for everyone. Had a great vacation, thank you!
Thank you Sue & John for allowing our family to stay at our awesome property. Let me first start off saying WOW, this was such an amazing place to stay simple beautiful. We had a family of about 15 people, and everyone slept comfortably with plenty of room. Jodi & Steve on site went above and beyond to make our stay at LemonLake Lodge a great one. Since our stay was over the Christmas holiday 2015, there was a real live Christmas tree that was neatly decorated and smelt wonderful. Plus they even decorated the elk with a Santa hat, and hung stockings by the fireplace. So if you have small children this was such a hit with our little ones. The kids could play outside in the snow or in the game room, so many options for them to choose. This was such a blessing for my family to be able to stay under one roof at LemonLake Lodge, we definitely will be back again.
What a great place. We had a large group and everyone loved it for a different reason. The kids were free to play inside or out, even play in the lake. Fisherman were in heaven. Hikers had lots of options. It was great all the way around. Sue and John were very friendly and helpful. I would love to go back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lemon Lake Lodge. It was perfect for our family gathering. A quiet beautiful spot for all ages (there are a lot of steps). The owners, John and Sue were very friendly and there to help with any questions or needs we had. We hope to come back soon!
We had so much fun Fishing right cross the street. We had 3 families with plenty of room in the house. The layout of rooms and bathrooms worked perfectly for our family. Would love to come back !! Thank you !!
I would definitely recommend this Lodge for family adventures. We had a blast. The layout of the house worked perfectly for our large family. We brought bicycles, air guns, paddle boats ,card games, board games. Fishing poles, swimming suits and more food than we needed. If we needed anything, Sue and John helped us out.We evan had a surprise wedding. .We also celebrated 2 birthdays while we were there. The kids had so much fun and they got so dirty playing outside. The cell phones were put away and not evan missed, especially by 2 fifteen year olds. Spent one day sightseeing Mesa Verde and visiting the train museum in Durango. This was a great 5 days we had, we hope to do this again. THANKS for opening up your home for family..

Natural hot Springs in Durango and Pagosa Springs, a popular rock climbing spot just 2 miles up the road from the Lodge, prime trout fishing, boating, rafting, gold prospecting, silver prospecting, hiking historic trails and stage coach routes, snow skiing, cross country and snow shoe excursions, Kite skiing is very popular right in front of the Lodge on the Lake bottom with predictable winds from the south, Wildlife viewing of Bald Eagles, Osprey, hawks, Mule deer, Elk, chipmunks, squirrels, Mountain Lions, Bears, Mountain Goats, weasels, pine martens, ptarmigans and many other verities of wildlife to enjoy.
Total access to the San Juan national forest on horseback or hiking, right from Lemon Lake Lodge.
Several Outfitters are close by for horseback riding, or bring your own horses, we have gated corrals available for them. Beautiful sights are plentiful that many can truly enjoy, either on foot or from on the back of a horse or your favorite mule.
