This review pertains to the Buccaneer's Beach House at Whistle Point. My family and I celebrated my father's 80th birthday in this wonderful home in March/April 2015. We had an absolutely wonderful time in this fantastic home. The Beach House sits high on a promintory adjacent to the Buccaneer resort proper. It has spectacular 270 degree panoramic views of the sea. We did quite a bit of driving around the island, but honestly I never saw a better view than we had from the house itself. The house has 6 bedrooms, or which we used 5 for our 9 people. All the rooms were very nice, but the Buck Island Suite (master suite) which is in its own separate bungalow, blew everyone away with its unbelievable shower with a view of Buck Island, 2 separate private terracess and spacious sitting room. The house has a full kitchen, very large living room with unbelievable views and a huge terrace with private pool. The great thing about this house is that it is absolutely private, but you enjoy all the amenities of the Buccaneer, including daily maid service and complementary breakfast. Our rate also included mini-van rental for the week. Best of all, the house enjoys private and extremely convenient acces to Whistle Point beah. This is one of the 3 beaches at the Buccaneer, but during the entire week we saw no more than 6 or 7 people total on this beach!! Its essentially a private beach for the house. The beach is pretty rock at each end, but has a very nice sandy entry in the middle with a lovely spot for swimming. The house is pretty far from the resort proper, but a call to the front desk wiill have a shuttle at your door for transport pretty quickly. One thing to mention that is not clear from the description on the hotel web site. All of the rooms have external entrances. This was great for our group, because it allowed for more privacy, but if you have small children, be aware that none of the rooms connect to each other (except one that has a very small sitting room with a day bad connecting through the bathroom) For this special occassion, I looked at literally hundreds of rental homes in the Carribean and Mexico. This house had everything we were looking for. Plenty of room to spread out, but also wonderful gathering areas, a very nice private pool, absolute privacy (actually in a separate gated compound, next to the Buccaneer's owner's home), easy beach access and breath-taking views. We loved this home and I am so glad we picked it.
