About Carla Ensley

Our family created Blanche Manor in 2000. We cut every trail, cleared every pasture, and even built our own home. We love our farm, and take great pride in sharing it with our clients. We have created our ideal life here, and would love to have you be a part of it. Our horseback riding packages are unmatched in safety, beauty, and value. The accomodations on our ranch offer our guests a taste of the mountain ranching life, while respecting its ecosystem and natural beauty. We look forward to seeing you at the ranch soon.

Why Carla Ensley chose Tennessee

We chose our location to build a life that our family could enjoy and run together. It showcases the natural beauty of Blue Ridge Mountains, while being close to conveniences and culture of Blue Ridge. We are blessed with a location that has outstanding trails for riding, close proximity to all the outdoor activities our clients are looking for, and the peace and serrenty that only open pastures, horses, and farm life can offer.

What makes this cabin unique

Our ranch offers fantastic views, private wooded setting, creeks on every boarder, and beautiful pastures filled with horses. Our setting is truly unique. We offer the seclusion of a private ranch, but have endless activities right onsite. We are also so close to all of the adventure activites, such as white water rafting, tubing, kayaking, endless hiking trails, and lakes with boat rentals. You are close enough to Blue Ridge for fine dining and culture, but secluded in the peaceful beauty on our private ranch.

Cute little cabin on a dirt road

  • 5 of 5

My family enjoyed our stay in the bunkhouse at Blanche Manor! We were very comfortable and had plenty of privacy. The renters of the nearby yurts were only seen and heard minimally, as they utilized the facilities (bathhouses) located on the opposite side of the building. We rode horses, which was well worth the money, and rafted nearby as well. Make sure your vehicle is capable of hills and gravel roads! Perfect spot for a low-maintenance, low-cost mountain getaway!

Just what we were looking for

  • 5 of 5

Property was beautiful, peaceful and clean. I am very pleased I found Blanche Manor. The trail ride we took was great, our guides were great, friendly and very energetic. It was a great place to get away and just listen to nature and relax. My only complaint was the queen bed was very hard, sleeping would have been better if the bed was a little more comfortable. I would definitely come back and maybe next time bring a group with us and stay in the lodge (we stayed in the bunkhouse).

Good location, peaceful setting. Uncomfortable bed

  • 3 of 5

We had a good stay. The kitchen was lightly stocked with basic pot and pans and dishes. The AC worked well. Would've liked cable to watch football in the afternoon. No frills but sufficient, especially for the reasonable cost. My main negative would be that the Double bed was very hard and uncomfortable. My shoulders and neck are killing me after a 2 night stay. Could be an easy fix of a mattress topper or memory foam mattress over the standard mattress.

Quiet yet close to all kinds of activities

  • 5 of 5

The bunkhouse is perfect for a small family. It is close to rafting, riding the train, wine country, antique shopping and , of course, horse back riding which is on the property. We have stayed in Yurt #1 also and loved it! Definitely a place to look into if you want a perfect location with lots to do!

Great stay but was disappointed with the ride

  • 4 of 5

My stay at the bunkhouse was great one I always stay there when I come up to the mountains and ride with them. But I didn't enjoy the ride this time because I rode with one person who was uncomfortable with horses who should of not got on or especially on Euro who was a stubborn horse. So with the mix of Euro not moving and I was behind him and her not liking horses it made the ride bad. When we got to the top to take pictures the woman got off because she was afraid of heights and she cried to our guide to get off and walk the trail . I feel that maybe if she was asked told we was going to go up the mountain on a horse and trot all this could of been prevented her not to ride. I called and told owner about my experience and all she told me was I should of did a private lesson since this instance never happened to me because I always come to Blanche manor I never thought about private lessons because I always had a great time and since I patronize Blanche manor everytime I come to the mountains I felt like the manager could of made a deal and said I'm sorry for the experience and offered me something off the ride if I came back for another one the next day. So book a private lesson if you want to trot and have fun just incase you have someone in your group who doesn't like horses and scared of heights who shouldn't of been on one in the beginning so you don't have the problem I ran into because that's what the owner going to say so you to you before you waste your money on a ride.
