This custom home is nestled at the top of 2 acres in a gated section of the Cedar Falls Resort. Roads in this community are wide and gently graded. Our cabin is easily accessible with a large paved driveway, plus a turn-around area that can accommodate several vehicles. At Mountain Splendor you will have access to all the amenities one would expect in a mountain home, on three upscale levels.

Each floor was designed with guests in mind, and features a private bedroom and full bath. The living areas are equipped with complimentary WI-FI and HDTV. In addition, the following features are sure to delight both family and friends...

MAIN LEVEL: Bask in a mesmerizing view! Here, a two-story natural stone (gas) fireplace casts timeless ambiance on the open living area, creating an ideal backdrop for your vacation memories. The kitchen is accented with a granite counter bar that seamlessly connects the dining area and great room, where you can enjoy a gorgeous view of Mount LeConte along the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. A 48'' LED TV and lodge-style furnishings complete this inviting setting.

The Main Level bedroom is located off the hall. Furnishings include a premium (QUEEN) pillow-top set with armoir and 32'' LCD TV. Directly across the hall is a large full bath with ample vanity space in addition to a stacked, compact washer & dryer.

THE LOFT: This private suite is furnished with a custom hand-carved Amish bedroom set, a plush KING piillow-top mattress, and 32'' LCD TV. The adjoining bathroom is very spacious. Features include a soaking tub, vanity area, and two seat shower.

ENTRY LEVEL: Here, a stone (gas) fireplace with oversized hearth and pool table welcome you to enjoy fun and entertainment! Amenities include a pub set, wet bar and mini-fridge, lodge-style chairs, and a 42'' LCD TV with VHS & DVD equipment.

About Annette Curtin

We decided to build Mountain Splendor after spending our 1st Thanksgiving in the Smoky Mountains when our kids were small. As children we'd both visited this area with our own families, and can recall our fascination in observing the namesake mist that very first time. Although many years have passed since then, we still enjoy watching the smoky mist as it glides along this Appalachian wonderland.

As the only daughter of an incredible homemaker, I originally hoped to open a Bed & Breakfast. However in 1999, our lives changed forever after my parents sold our family farm. In the year that followed, we unexpectedly lost both of them. In coping with this terrible loss, we were left with the difficult decision of how to best preserve two generations of hard work, dreams, and savings. After tremendous research, we discovered Cedar Falls and designed Mountain Splendor so that others could enjoy it as well. Although it's not quite the 'Bed & Breakfast' I envisioned many years ago, guests can enjoy privacy plus a variety of dining and entertainment options.

Over the last decade as our family has grown, so too have our memories here. We've enjoyed many of Eastern Tennesee's popular attractions, and it's been a pleasure to share our cabin with guests who appreciate the incredible beauty of nature. And just as our family and friends have created many special memories here, we hope that you will too!

Annette Curtin purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Annette Curtin chose Tennessee

We discovered Cedar Falls to be refreshingly different from the majority of developments here in the Smokies. Many builders offered 'cookie-cutter' cabins on small parcels with little to no privacy. The Cedar Falls community was designed more like an artist's canvas, where each home and every amenity was customized to compliment the beauty of the natural environment. You'll discover that every cabin here is unique, and thoughtfully scattered among thousands of treetops so you can truly revel in the beauty of nature. Although the location may feel remote, Cedar Falls is just a few miles from the popular attractions in Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, Gatlinburg, and Wear's Valley.

What makes this cabin unique

Mountain Splendor is situated on 2 private acres in a gated section of the Cedar Falls community. You will find this location is extremely quiet, with moments of stillness that are simply incredible! Two covered decks offer an opportunity to relax to the sound of raindrops, or enjoy an endless variety of bird songs on clear and sunny days. After periods of heavy rain, you can hear the rush of water moving over the rocks in the valley below. You may also discover the best is yet to come ~ as the namesake mist rises and travels through the valleys below. The photos you see here are not re-touched... These are the actual views our family has enjoyed, and it is our hope that you can too!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Loved the setting, and the decorating... also enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of hiking!

Perfect for all

  • 5 of 5

The location is perfect - close to all the attractions yet when at this cabin you can enjoy a feeling of being away from it all. The views are spectacular. The cabin feels like home. We wish we could have stayed much longer. The owners are fabulous to work with and promptly answer any questions or concerns. If you are looking for a great cabin - This is it!

Hard to say goodbye.

This was our 2nd time staying at Mountain Splendor, and we cannot wait to come back again. The views are amazing! At night you feel like you can touch the stars right from the hot tub. Close to everything, but far enough away to feel secluded. The owners have always been so nice and accommodating. Would recommend to everyone!

Absolutely Perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

I don't know where to begin, so I'll start with what I said when we walked in...WOW this place is Awesome!!! I honestly do not have one negative thing to say. To start, the location was perfect, making it easily accessible to the Great Smoky Mountains N.P. entrance near Wears Valley. Going into Pigeon Forge for groceries was a short 20 minute drive. The peaceful quiet was exactly what we were hoping for. Sitting on the upper deck was my favorite spot from watching the bluejays in the morning to the stars at night. If you are as lucky as we were, maybe you will also get to see a shooting star and a double rainbow. The deck faces south giving you perfect views of both the sunrise and sunset.

We had six people in our group and had more than enough room. This place can easily accommodate up to nine people. Each of the three levels has a large full bathroom. The cleanliness of the entire cabin was perfect.

Lastly, Annette the owner was a pleasure to deal with. We can't wait to visit again and highly recommend this as a great family getaway.
