About Frank Ascione

We, Frank and Jill, met in 2003 as Marriott co-workers in Bridgewater, NJ, and have been nearly inseparable ever since. We love traveling, enjoying nature, discovering interesting new places to eat and drink, and spending as much time as possible with our amazing dog, Sophie.

Frank Ascione purchased this cabin in 2017

Why Frank Ascione chose White Mountains

We discovered this property while dating, on our third trip to New Hampshire. We were looking for a secluded place to observe the Geminids Meteor Shower where we wouldn't be disturbed by the light from a neighbor's porch, etc. I contacted the owner and she confirmed that the property actually has no neighbors. We decided to give it a shot and we fell in love with it immediately. We visited several more times over the next 8 years, even getting engaged there in front of the fireplace and having our honeymoon there two years later. When we found out the cabin was for sale, we couldn't risk losing it forever if the new owners decided to stop renting it. We bought it to continue sharing it with the hundreds of other guests who have loved it over the years, and to continue loving it ourselves.

What makes this cabin unique

The Cozy Cabin is, in fact, cozy, and very comfortable. But the privacy, hot tub and fireplace are the reasons we kept coming back.

Perfect respite from NYC!

  • 5 of 5

Clean, comfortable, and the perfect respite from NYC....thank you! We didn't use the hot tub but would love to come in chillier months to make use of it. We had everything we needed to cook and grill and enjoyed sitting on the deck enjoying the birds and wildlife. We hiked during the day and were happy to have a great place to come back to with our tired, but happy, feet. We didn't want to leave and hope to come back sooner rather than later!

Cozy, quiet, private, spacious, great location!

  • 5 of 5

My wife, myself, our 4 year old daughter and our 7 month old Dalmatian puppy stayed from September 4th to September 8th 2017 for our Anniversary vacation! It is a fantastic little getaway! The location was great and very secluded. The Cabin itself was great; very clean and roomy! We loved the hot tub; we spent some time in it each night! The kitchen was great! We cooked and ate in for every meal! The cabin and surrounding area was a fantastic place to spend a week, and we enjoyed every minute of it! We loved the fact that we could bring our puppy with us, because not many places offer that! (And he loved the 'cool-a-roo', by the way! :) ) We'd love to come back in the future and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to getaway to the white mountains of New Hampshire! Frank and Jill are very friendly and welcoming people to work with! Thanks again for a great week! - Chris, Sam, Raina, and our puppy Domino :)

Amazing stay! Very romantic for a couple, good for kids too. Can't wait to come back!

This cabin was absolutely wonderful! Definitely very cozy and far cuter in person than the pictures even capture! It was immaculately clean, not a speck of dust anywhere, all the comforts of home but step outside the door and you are in the middle of the woods! Felt like glamping! It's very private and my mom and I felt nice and isolated away from it all like we wanted (we were on a writing retreat of sorts to work on a project and enjoy Nature), yet a 10 min drive and you are in a cute town. 25 min drive to Franconia Notch State Park which was AWESOME and has tons of trails. We did a fabulous hike to Artist's Bluff. Trailhead across the street from the parking lot of Echo Lake Beach that had swimming and kayaks, paddle boats, and canoe rentals. Frank left lots of pamphlets on local activities and a really good guide book on New Hampshire that had a lot of info on the White Mountains with trail options and descriptions. I can't wait to come again and try out more trails. A 10 min drive away on the way to the park try Polly's Pancake Parlor! Great views, atmosphere, and homemade food!

The bedrooms were cute and cozy. My mom found the queen bed in the master bedroom very comfortable, and I was surprised by how comfy the double futon was in the second bedroom.

The bathroom was so clean, and the kitchen was great! It had recently been painted by the owners and felt light and airy. Cute country charm with modern new appliances, great top of the line cookware and knives. Even a microwave. We cooked some great meals in this lovely little kitchen. Nice big table for a family dinner (or writing project!).

The deck is lovely, we enjoyed morning coffee and yoga out there in Nature. Blissful. The hot tub at night was heavenly. We liked turning the lights off and staring at the stars; heard an owl, and the hauntingly beautiful howling of the sled dogs down the hill around 1 or 2am. That was a treat! Sounded like a pack of wolves! It felt so primal and wild. Otherworldly.

We also had nostalgic fun watching Aliens on VHS one night. There is a very large, varied collection of VHS and dvds to choose from. We'd love to come in the fall or winter and enjoy the fireplace, that would be so cozy to curl up by and watch a movie! It was too warm for us to do so in July. The temperature was just right with the windows open to the screens and a fan circulating air. No bugs were getting in through the screens.

Overall this was a rejuvenating and fun escape!
