This Chalet style home located within the Angel Fire Resort gives the residents all the seclusion and serenity of the mountains with the convenience of being within 3 minutes of the the outdoor activities of Angel Fire ski basin or 5 minutes to golf and tennis at the country club. This is truly a four-season home for all activites or to base from for excursions to local cultural and historical landmarks.
This beautiful mountain home sits on a double lot at the end of a dead end street and days will pass without another car driving by. The huge front deck gives a lovely setting for evening star gazing or waiting for the deer and elk to stroll by. The aspen trees that surround the deck are full of color during the fall foliage season.
The 3 bedroom 2 bath house is perfect for two familes to share for a vacation or a family reunion. The great room with the vaulted ceiling is where families will gather to watch the flat screen TV or play board games. A short, but steep 300 yard hike up the border of the resort propery line will take you to the Elliot Barker trailhead into the Carson National Forest.
The 2nd floor master bedroom has a king size bed with private bath and a loft area with sitting area or additional sleeping. The second and third bedrooms are down stairs with a bathroom between them. One room had 2 bunk beds and sleeps four, while the other bedroom has a queen size bed.
The dining area has a large table for the entire family and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare a goumet dinner. The living room has a huge fireplace, with plenty of room to watch the fire or the satellite tv with DVD or listen to music on your ipod.
We are from the Texas Panhandle and we love the Angel Fire area so much that we wanted to share our home with others.
Michael Peters purchased this house in 2012
We bought this property for the four season activites and the seclusion of the house. I lot of the homes by the country club are close to neighbors, but we wanted to enjoy the clean, quiet mountain air and the wildlife.
The best part of this home is being secluded, yet so close to the ski basin and the country club. The deck allows us time to stop and relax and remember why we are here. A family of deer visit us every evening and sometimes they bring a elk with them.
Our group of eight (including four kids) loved everything about this home. From sledding, building snowmen, walking through the woods, playing games at the large kitchen table, to making s'mores in the fireplace. The home was well maintained and made our stay very comfortable. The location is nice and private. We would visit again for sure.
Great quiet place for a relaxing weekend. The house is quiet and the deck is perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks We cooked all meals and everything we needed was there. We have made plans for a return trip
We stayed in this house in February with grandparents, two children, my husband and me. We have skied in Angel Fire two other times and rented other houses on those visits. This is the nicest and most well appointed house we have stayed in (though not the largest one we've stayed in, but perfect for the size group we had this year). This house is equipped with Calphalon utensils, very nice pots and pans, wonderful dishes and glassware, even a pancake griddle! It is not the usual cast-offs that you find in rental properties at times. We fully used the kitchen to cook almost every night, and we found everything we needed (even a steamer insert!). The bedding and towels were excellent (Tommy Bahama towels) and plentiful. The house was very clean.
The house is in an excellent location, at the end of the road, so there is no road traffic to worry about when the kids are playing endlessly outside in the snow (which our kids did, when they were not skiing or sleeping!). It takes less than 5 minutes to drive to the ski area. It is very close to the grocery store, as well as gas station and Angel Fired Pizza (yum). Roads in the neighborhood are plowed seemingly every day by my observation, though there was still snow on the road in places. I don't think 4WD is required, but we were lucky our rental SUV had it, and I think it made it easier to get around the area. There is a garage to use, and we were able to get a small SUV in there (Honda CRV), but I don't think a large SUV such as a Yukon or Suburban would fit inside.
The house was very well set up for our family. The grandparents had the Queen room (downstairs), the kids slept in the bunk room (has 4 bunk beds, downstairs), and we slept in the King master (upstairs). The two full baths worked great, and having the full sized washer and dryer was a real plus.
It is hard to suggest any improvements on a house this great, but the only thing I can think of would be Wi-Fi, which this house does not have. On the other hand, maybe it is good for everyone to unplug for a few days and just spend time as a family! My husband needed to get online for work, so he used his phone as a hot-spot for his laptop. It was not a big deal. We had so much other fun stuff to do, we didn't even turn on the TV!
Mike (owner) was extremely responsive and easy to work with throughout. We had no issues with the house during our stay at all. When we return to Angel Fire, we will stay here again!
I would highly recommend this house for families. It is at the end of a cul de sac and very private. My 2 teenage daughters loved exploring. We spent a week over Christmas and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. We had beautiful snow each day. We saw a herd of Elk the last day which was awesome!!!! We will definitely be back
All I can do is say that the previous reviews are accurate. Nicely decorated cabin with plenty of clean linens. Very secluded feeling even though you are just minutes from town. During our stay we saw deer in the yard every day. We will be back!!!
This secluded home is located within the Angel Fire Resort a short 3 minute drive to the ski basin and 5 minutes to the country club. The home sits on a double lot at the end of a dead end street surrounded by greenway. Taos is a beautiful 30 minute drive away to the art galleries and cultural attractions of New Mexico.
