Aloha! Welcome to Hapuna Beach Villa, our home overlooking the Hapuna Golf Course in the beautiful Waiulaula development with panoramic 180 degree views of the ocean and Kohala mountains. We also have partial views of the 14th green.
Our home is a 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom, 3000 sq. ft. one level luxury villa. The L-shaped lanai doors disappear into the walls inviting an outdoor living experience that will suit even the most discriminate travelers and inviting a relaxing vacation as you lounge around the private pool and spa or eat dinner at the lanai table as you enjoy the beautiful sunset from what is considered to be the one of the best view locations in Waiulaula with it's west facing exposure. Our villa also has one of the largest back yards in Waiulaula with an extended lanai inviting fabulous water and sunset views or slip out to the backyard stone bench set among beautiful Hawaiian bougainvillea to enjoy the sunset.
The great room with wet bar is beautifully furnished with a sectional and a 60' flat screen television with surround sound and a Bose docking station for your phone/iPod. Cable television, Apple TV and a DVR add to the feeling of luxury for those who want to relax and catch up on some favorite shows. The glass dining table completes the open, airy feeling felt throughout the villa as you invite the outdoors in.
The well stocked gourmet kitchen is a cooks dream with cherry cabinets and granite counters. It is equipped with a Wolf six burner gas range, Wolf oven and microwave, Sub-Zero Refrigerator, and small appliances such as blender, rice maker, coffee maker, electric kettle, popcorn maker and espresso machine. The outdoor cooking center on the lanai also houses granite counters, a Wolf six burner grill complete with rotisserie and a small refrigerator.
For your laundry needs, we have an LG extra large capacity washer and dryer.
Bedroom accommodations include two master suites and one junior master. Master suite one has a king size canopy bed, 55' flat screen television, cable TV and DVR, small desk, luxury shower for two with walk through outdoor shower, a large vanity with two sinks, private toilet room and a large walk-in closet. Master suite two comes with a Cal King bed, 55' flat screen television,cable TV, DVR, loveseat, large two person glass walled shower, jacuzzi, private toilet area, two separate vanities and large walk-in closet. The third bedroom is decorated for either the kids or adults with a Cal King bed and a twin trundle beds (2 regular twin beds), flat screen television and a Wii system (bring your favorite games) for the kids in the family. There is an en-suite bathroom with a large shower.
The house rental cannot exceed a maximum of 8 people.
The villa has dual zone air-conditioning and wireless throughout.
Waiulaula is located on 48 acres of beautiful Mauna Kea Resort property with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and Kohala Mountains. Some days you can see Maui from our villa. This secure, gated community has it's own recreation center complete with an salt-water infinity pool, spa, cooking center, indoor kitchen, reading area, television room and fitness room with top of the line exercise equipment.
The VIP Amenity Package is available to our guests for a total fee of $65 per day for everyone in your party! There is not an option to choose days. The Amenity Package gives access to the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and the Hapuna Prince Resort as if you were a guest there The options include 36 holes of championship golf at a discount, tennis, workout facilities,hotel pool, parking, towels and two of the best white sand beaches on the Kohala coast and all of Hawaii. There are numerous restaurants and shops located nearby as well and guests may even establish charging privileges at the hotel to make daily outings easier. Guests may visit both Mauna Kea and Hapuna Beach without paying, but won’t receive the use of towels, chairs, umbrella's and at Mauna Kea, preferred parking.
Check-in is at 4:00 pm and check-out is at 11:00 am.

We love outdoor activities from snow skiing to snorkeling, road biking and mountain biking and have recently taken up golf now that we have a house on a golf course.

After numerous trips to Hawaii over the past 25 years, we fell in love with the Big Island and decided to purchase a vacation home here. The energy level and friendly people made us want to come back to the Big Island time and time again and when we found Waiulaula, we knew we had also found our 'home away from home.'

The villa was exactly as presented on the website. We loved the openness of the kitchen/great room which extended onto the lanai when you opened the glass doors. The bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable. The house was well maintained and all the appliances worked perfectly. We particularly enjoyed how peaceful it was, sitting on the lanai, looking out at the ocean. The neighborhood was very quiet, which was a bonus for us. The Property Manager representing the Owners was awesome. She was on top of every request we had. The amenities offered, such as beach access, pools, golf were close by and easily accessible. We can't say enough wonderful things about this villa. I would highly recommend it to family and friends.
We just returned from our second stay at this beautiful home. This time we were there for 19 nights and had overlapping visits from our children and grandchildren...better than ever. The owners have continued to improve the offering here and everything was as advertised or better. The Club Membership was very useful, as we used the pool, beach, restaurants and recreatioal activities at the Mauna Kea and Hapuna to the fullest extent. Each family had their own account to use when they picked special activities and meals. We will return here the next time we visit Hawaii. The Big Island has become our favorite destination.
Suggestion, use the fllight over to make some meal plans and head directly to Costco after you leave the airport. It's a great place for staples, prime steaks, wine and liquor. Also, the market at Waikaloa Village is completly stocked with smaller portions of things you don't need alot of. In addition, the mid-week farmers market in Waimea is a terrific place for fresh veggies and fruit. It also makes for a nice trip away from the resorts.
For recreational activities, consider the Kohala Flume ride and snorkeling with the mantas at the Mauna Kea Hotel.
If you are dining out, consider Na'Pua at the Mauna Lani for sunsets, Merrimans for fine dining island style and Sushi Rock in Hawi for local color. We tried each one more than once along with a family dinner on the Garden Terrace at the Manta Restaurant at the hotel.

This beautiful home was everything we could have wished for. The rooms are huge, the kitchen is amazing and well-equipped - right down to the spices and pots and pans, the view is breathtaking, and the management was terrific. There were so many touches that made our vacation extra special, including the beach mats and boogie boards in the garage, the fantastic outdoor barbecue (we actually ate out very little), and the in-home washer and dryer. My family (husband and two children, ages 7 and 9) loved the pool and we took some time to enjoy the beautiful infinity pool at the main clubhouse, though it was not heated. It's not a far drive from Waimea and its restaurant and weekend farmers market, and only about 30 minutes from the airport.
We ran into a small snag on the first day when the pool and hot tub didn't seem to heat properly, but Kerrie, the rental manager, arranged for someone to come and check it out. It self corrected, though, and we were able to enjoy both the pool and hot tub. It does take a while for both to heat to comfortable temps, but if you've got the time to wait it out, it's worth it.
The pictures are absolutely accurate and I would recommend this rental to anyone. We rotate around three of the islands, but my kids have already decided that when we come back to the Big Island, we have to stay here again. I agree!
We had a wonderful time time! A beautiful home in a beautiful place! The house had everything we needed and more. Our daughter loved the pool and Grandma loved the spa. If the two most beautiful beaches on the island weren't so close, we may have never have left the house.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa. Karen and Steve provide everything you need for a fabulous stay. The kitchen is stocked with every appliance you would ever want. The layout is perfect for traveling with extended family or another couple. The beds are very comfortable with high end linens and towels. The outdoor shower was also a nice feature of home, particularly after the beach. We really enjoyed the amenity package, which provides access to the beaches at Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince with easy parking; these beaches are so much nicer than the beaches at the other resorts we visited. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are considering purchasing a villa in the same community.
