Great as always

  • 5 of 5

A clean and comfortable home. Good instructions and the service is wonderful. It is close to the town of Louisburgh, a 10 minute walk. Has a fireplace to burn peat. We requested a coffee maker and Niall had one there when we arrived. I would love to stay here all year.

Charming Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Louisburgh is a lovely village, with warm, friendly people. The house is located just out of town in the midst of farmland. The setting is spectacular and house very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and we appreciated having three bathrooms with showers! The person who oversees the property quickly when we had questions. and Naill kept in contact with us from the booking to our arrival. This was our first time renting through Homeaway, and our experience was so positive, we hope to find another reason to use the service again!

Excellent holiday home

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was beautiful - spacious and beautifully furnished and maintained, and perfectly clean, and within walking distance to the village. Marion was very helpful when we had a slight issue and she made sure it was fixed promptly and with minimal inconvenience. It was a pleasure to stay here and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

Great Sized House Good Location

  • 4 of 5

House was a great place to stay, lots of space and spotlessly clean. Bedroom linens crisp, fresh and modern. We couldn't find any kitchen textiles ( dish cloths tea towels oven gloves) and bath towels on the small side. Louisburgh had a nice selection of Bars, Bistros, Restaurants and even a Chinese Takeaway

I would definitely recommend 4 The Heather as comfortable home from home

Spacious, well equipped, and quiet location

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The property is well equipped, has two large bedrooms each with a three-quarter bath, a large well equipped kitchen and a spacious dining room and patio for use too. The living room is very comfortable with a nice TV and the property includes excellent internet service for emails and web surfing. Louisburgh, within walking distance of the property, is a small community with a few pubs and one small grocery. Westport is about 10 miles away and has large grocery stores and the like. Newport is a few miles north of Westport and has two great butcher shops and the wonderful St. Patrick's Church with its "Last Judgment" stained glass windows above the alter. We enjoyed exploring the back roads and did several day trips. Places we enjoyed include: Connemara area although we found the Sky road to be over rated (be sure to drive R335 between Louisburgh and Leenane over Doo Lough Pass, R341 along the coast, and R334); Achill Island is well worth a day; and if your brave and want to see great cliffs with few if any other tourists, go to Benwee Head through Carrowteige (absolutely awesome). The owner of this property, Niall, was very helpful with ideas of areas to explore. We were very happy with this property and the owner!
