|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Cozy apartment in a very secure and elegant block with central location. The whole area is full of restaurants, cafés, bars, shops all within walking distance. The flat has an open-plan design, cleverly divided into living area, dining area with connected kitchen and bedroom area, plus separate bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. Big windows make the flat bright and airy. There are many options if you feel like a good stroll, Imperial Palace only a stone's throw away, very attractive Hinokicho-Park by the Tokyo Midtown complex which is only 5 minutes walk away, and to walk around surrounding back streets is a sheer joy with little surprises in every corner. Our apartment is fully equipped with the latest technology, i.e. Wi-Fi internet, 32' flat screen TV with cable TV, automatic bath filler and bathroom air-conditioner + drier, washlet toilet with heated seat, answer phone with video screen monitor for the front door etc.
This was our second visit, and it won't be the last! Arriving after a long journey, it feels like coming home, with a welcoming smile to greet us from a waiting Biei. The apartment is bright and excellently maintained. Everything you need, easy to look after, and plenty of charm. The position is excellent for a holiday, within easy reach of subway stations for getting around Tokyo and enjoying the buzz of this exciting city, and yet the immediate environment is quiet and restful. Plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby, and even several museums and art galleries within walking distance. A really relaxing holiday. Highly recommended!
Tokyo is an exciting place to visit but by staying in hotels you miss half the fun. Biei's vacation home is a perfect way to live like a local. Situated halfway between two metro stops it is easy to get around all of Tokyo. The walk to the metro offers restaurants and local shops. Just two streets past the Akasaka metro are three streets full of nightlife from food to pachinko parlors.
Biei provides a pocket wifi so that your phone or computer is always linked to the internet as you explore Tokyo. By using google maps or citymapper you can easily navigate the city and never be lost.
In her home you have everything you need and a host of electronic pads which control the home. From the Japanese toilet that comes with a forty page manual to the shower room that heats up to become a non tumble dryer you can experience life the way the Japanese do.
My wife and I spent 10 days in Biei's apartment and enjoyed every minute.
I stayed here for 3 nights during my first visit to Japan. Having never visited before, having such a gracious host provide assurances by email was tremendously helpful. Upon arrival, Biei was there to welcome us and show us around. The apartment is lovely - comfortable, clean, accessible and close to much more than I realized. You can walk to essentially anything - Roppongi, the Metro, the Imperial Palace. You are only about 12 minutes from Tokyo Station by taxi. Akasaka may be unfamiliar to first-time visitors - it doesn't have the name recognition of Shinjuku or Shibuya - but for a quiet, safe place to stay it can't be beat. I highly recommend the apartment, and the host was fantastically helpful and kind.
I stayed at this super clean and quiet apartment for 3 weeks. The instructions to use everything (microwave, WiFi, portable WiFi, washer, etc.) were very clear. Within 2 minute walking distance, you have tons of convenience stores; 4-5 minutes you have a lot of restaurants. 10 minutes: Tokyo Midtown building. 15-20, Roppongi Hills. My son visited me for one week and we saw the new Star Wars movie at the Toho theaters in Roppongi Hills. Ippudo ramen branch in Roppongi is within 20 min walking distance. The owner was very quick in responding to my questions (not many since she had already addressed nearly all in previous communication or in the documentation at the apartment). Thank you!
The flat was ideal for us, well appointed, comfortable and very well cared for. The pocket wifi was new to us, and turned out to be a great asset, especially for finding our way around. The flat was quiet but near to good shopping, many restaurants and cafes (including places with Bento boxes if you want to eat at home) and a subway station, which meant it was convenient for travelling all round Tokyo. The owner was charming, easy to contact, and always ready to help. Highly recommended.
This apartment is perfect! The location is convenient for just about everything. Harajuku, Shibuya, and Shinjuku are all very close and Tokyo Station isn't far, either. Akasaka Station (Chiyoda Line) is very close, with a convenient 7-11 on the way for those with foreign bank cards. There's also a post office just next door and a great little Indian restaurant (The Spice) just down the road. Unlike many others in Tokyo, this one uses real basmati rice instead of Japanese sticky rice!
The apartment itself offers plenty of space for two travelers with a fair bit of luggage. It was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen has just about anything that you might need for cooking or eating. We were glad to have a clothes washing machine! Unfortunately, these isn't a clothes dryer. Instead, the bathroom can be set to clothes drying mode, which works just as well, but takes quite a while longer. Set it before you go out and your clothes will be dry when you return!
The TV has a lot of channels, which is something that you won't find in many hotels. The new WiFi box worked very well. We had a constant, strong signal within the apartment. The owner has provisioned the apartment with all of the small things that you would have at home, but which hotels don't provide (e.g. tools, a sewing kit, etc.). Overall, staying here is just much more convenient and comfortable than staying anywhere else!
Biei is awesome! She was always available to answer our questions and she offered some great advice, too. She was very flexible with our arrival times! Thanks, Biei!
We stayed here for a week, then explored other parts of Japan before returning here for another week. When we came back, it felt like coming home! :)
The property is located in Akasaka, Minato-ku area. This is a historic well established business & entertainment district containing many notable newly opened successful shopping complexes like Akasaka Sacas, Tokyo Midtown and Roppongi Hills. Akasaka is surrounded by a great choice of eateries from all over the world, plenty of cafés and for those who want to enjoy late night partying / drinking, there are numerous bars in all sorts of styles. There is plenty of choice for shopping in Akasaka / Roppongi area, also Harajuku / Omotesando and Ginza areas are a short journey away by Tokyo Metro. Food shops and 24 hours open convenience stores are dotted around to cater for all your needs. The Imperial Palace is only 5 min. by Metro. This is a perfectly situated apartment for maximizing your exploration of Tokyo. Remember, Tokyo is bigger than you think, so it is very important to have the right location as your base and a good pair of shoes.
