Enjoy gorgeous sunsets overlooking the main bay of beautiful Lake Diane (Hillsdale Co., MI), while lounging on the spacious deck at your beautifully decorated home away from home --KC's Point of View. For you shade lovers, just extend the remote controlled awnings over the deck (provided winds are calm); sit; relax; read a book, and just chill. If you want to mix it up, there are 4 outdoor sitting areas; the deck, the stamped concrete patio under the deck or another one next to the entry doors; and the lake deck landing. There are so many places to relax!
Sitting around a small bonfire is so social and KC's offers you the opportunity to do just that when the festivities of the day are done. Some wood is provided.
The panoramic view from the inside wall of the lake side windows is easily enjoyed from all 3 levels of the house. Also, the large, fully equipped kitchen, luxurious sofas, large flat screen TV (Direct TV + extras), 4 bedrooms plus a loft, 3 full baths, and a game room, allows your family to comfortably enjoy your time at pet friendly KC's. With 3 queen bedrooms (the Buford Room [master], the Princess Room, and the Gypsy Room); 2 twin beds in the Loon Room, and a full bed, futon, and a day bed (2 twins) in The Loft, you have your choice of where to rest your head. On top of all of that, there is a queen pull out sofa bed in the living room. So, all in all, KC's sleeping arrangements are very manageable and comfortable for a party of 12 or less. (linens included)
After dinner why not take in a game of pool, ping pong, while watching TV (3 TV's--living room, game room, and the Buford Room -master BR) or listening to your favorite tunes on either of the 2 stereo systems (1 in LR and 1 in Game Room)?
Your boat or watercraft is welcome at KC's 40' l x 4' w aluminum dock (no watercraft or boat is provided) & the shallow shoreline is inviting to play, swim, or go fishing right off the dock. If you like swimming, fishing, skiing, wake boarding, boating, jet skiing, kayaking, sailing, or just floating--you have chosen the right place, as Lake Diane's 400 acre all sports lake, with public access, allows you all of that plus more. The main public access is situated directly and conveniently across the lake from KC's.
What about you NASCAR fans? KC's is a wonderful place to choose when attending the famous NASCAR races at the MI Int'l Speedway in Brooklyn, MI. It's just about a short hour away. Stay here and enjoy both worlds in one stop!
Do you like being outdoors in the fall & winter? KC's is ideal for hunters, ice fishermen, snowmobilers & other activities as well. Hillsdale Co. is known to have some of the best deer hunting in MI, and is also known for its excellent fishing.
Visiting Hillsdale College? KC's is just a short drive south of Hillsdale, MI. Again, why not have the best of both worlds and stay on the lake--no matter the season!
Nestled in the Amish country, KC's is worth the easy drive from Toledo, OH; Fort Wayne, IN; Chicago, IL; Lansing, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Monroe, MI, etc., being conveniently situated in MI but bordering the states of OH & IN.
Some of the website pictures depict a winter wonderland, but in a couple short months Lake Diane will transform into a summer time place full of fun in the sun.
KC's is totally 'non smoking.' Receptacles are provided outdoors for extinguishing cigarettes, etc. If smoking occurs indoors, additional fees will be assessed.
KC's is not child proof or handicap friendly. There are no socket covers, child gates for steps, baby beds, etc. Also, KC's water is a well system, therefore, it 'may' (not normally) have a slight odor, but is filtered, softened, and tastes great! The cell phone coverage is spotty, therefore, KC's offers unlimited long distance phone calls and wireless Internet with a wireless printer.
If you want to bring your small pet (under 40#s) KC's includes a 10'x10' fenced in outdoor dog kennel and dog house situated on the property which can also be used, if needed. KC's offers so many amenities--just too many to mention!
KC's Point of View is well equipped, beautifully decorated, and large enough not to be just another lake cottage, but more like 'your' home on the lake.
Book today and experience for yourself a long weekend, a week, or even a month or two at lovely KC's Point of View. We want to share our home with you!
Being a transplant in MI from Mobile, AL years ago; KC loves the water! What can be said except KC wanted a place right by the water for adults, for children, but it had to be close to home and work, as well as an all season home; just to get away even if it is for just a day or two, six or thirty days! :) The children are all grown and gone, so now it's time to rent. Need more be said? Thanks for booking with KC's and treating our home like you would your own home! Nicely! Very nicely!
owner/property manager purchased this house in 1997
MI is the 'Great Lakes State,' and also boasts 100's of small inland lakes -- Lake Diane being one of them. KC needed and wanted a big/little lake which was 'just right' for KC and the pontoon boat (not included). At times, it's quiet, serene, beautiful, and other times it is a frenzy of fun--whatever the occasion, KC is on vacation even though it is a short hike away. Once you turn onto the dirt road leading to KC's you know you are on vacation. It's exciting -- yet relaxing. It's home -- but not. There are 'always' great times associated with any time spent at KC's.
KC hopes you can experience all the fun, memories, and relaxing times -- boat rides on a Friday late summer evening after a long week's work; sipping your favorite drink while watching the sun melt down over the lake; or seeing the water turn pink, purple, and other beautiful colors as the sun slides down over the horizon; hearing the Canadian geese flying overhead, or watching the Great Blue Heron strike a pose while he is fishing for the latest catch. Why this property? All of those reasons, plus more! KC loves Lake Diane!
Lake Diane offers many unique attributes. In the peak of summer, you have the perfect view of the lake to witness the frenzy of boaters, skiing, jet skiing, pontoons, water slides, Tiki huts, bikinis, sunshades, sun tan lotion, chaise lounges, frozen beverages, fire works....and then you hear the clippity clop of a horse drawn Amish carriage carrying a husband, wife, and several children coming around the bend and stopping to sell you their fresh baked goods, fresh eggs, cheese, or wooden wares. Such a contrast to lake life---but fun to meet the very friendly Amish and the items they sell are delicious too! Why did KC fall in love with this area? Maybe is was the lake views, the lake atmosphere, just being on the water, or the unique Amish touch? Who really knows, but it's probably all of this plus more! Book now and find out why you will love renting KC's Point of View!
Everything was included for a wonderful and comfy stay! Clean, convenient, and beautiful! Would highly recommend this property.
We really enjoyed the house, it had a great view and plenty of space.
We had a wonderful stay. The home was beautiful and very comfortable. It was nice with all the little extras. They had shampoo, lotions and lovely baskets of many things you could use, The kitchen was also stocked with some basic spices and a few other things that help you get by for a few days. The pool table in the lower level was a wonderful addition to help keep everyone entertained. We love the location and hope to stay again.
KC's was a great spot for our girls weekend away. Just two hours south of the Ambassador Bridge into beautiful countryside. Spent an afternoon in Hillsdale, walking main street, shopping , stopping for a bit of lunch and looking around the college campus. Also made the short drive to Camden for the bakery.
Mostly we enjoyed staying at the house/lake and enjoying all it had to offer.
The house is extremely well appointed, definitely a home away from home.
Katrina was a pleasure to work with and all of her efforts are greatly appreciated.
A great time was had by all, thanks!
Our family felt right at home the moment we walked through the door. The attention to detail Katrina shows is very welcoming. The little personal touches meant Alot.
We had a great time. And at no time during the week did anyone feel we were crowded. Plenty of little getaways to gather your thoughts. I especially enjoyed the chairs looking out over the lake in the loft.
We will plan for a return.

What about you race fans? KC's is the perfect retreat during race season as the MI Int'l Speedway is just an hour away in Brooklyn, MI.
It goes without saying, but this area has great hunting (one of the top counties in MI for # of deer), fishing (perch, walleye), swimming, sunbathing, boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, biking, and hiking are all just outside the door, with restaurants, golfing, horseback riding and other activities just minutes to a 1/2 hour away.

Several wineries are conveniently located within a half hours (+/-) drive (Satek and Briali Wineries in Fremont, IN; Stoney Ridge in Bryan, OH; and Cherry Creek Cellars, Albion, MI), as well as the outlet mall for the shoppers in your group just outside of Fremont, IN--you must stop at the Pickle Factory outlet store, and you can even take a tour of the pickle factory an hour or so away. Sauder Village is just down the toll road I-80/90 (which is very convenient) What about stopping in at Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve, Fremont, IN? For those history buffs, you will not want to leave until you have visited the local Hopewell Indian Burial Mounds just a short 15 minutes away with the tri-state marker and Lake Las Su An Wildlife perserve a little further on down the road in Ohio.
How about canoeing the St Joseph River which boards right south of Pioneer, OH....minutes away......What fun!
Go for lunch at The Hunt Club in Hillsdale, MI, but you can not leave until you have stopped in at H.J. Gelzer & Son Furniture Store, just a block away. You might think they are just a furniture store, but-- oh my -- they are so much more. The ladies will love touring the 3 floors of kitchen, gifts, furnishings, pictures, and so much more.
But when it comes right down to it, you will probably just want to stay put at KC's and enjoy the relaxing, laid back atmosphere -- read a book, lounge on the deck, play a game of pool or ping pong, float in the lake, fish off the pier, wade in the shallow water next to the shoreline, or just sit and sip your favorite drink and enjoy the view. KC's is just plain comfortable and offers a spectacular view of the lake from just about any angle.
