I live in San Francisco and Cedar Street is our family estate. This 1880's Georgian was lovingly restored four years ago to serve numerous family relatives while visiting Chicago. We offer our three chic suites when not in town. Walk to Oak Beach, Rush Street nightlife and Magnificent Mile shopping.
Michael purchased this apartment in 2006
I stayed in the Villa Verdone apartment with some friends in early October for a week and it was everything it promised to be and more! The location is unbeatable with the restaurants and bars of Rush street around the corner and the north end of downtown with the Hancock tower etc a few minutes walk away. The apartment itself is stylish and very comfortable as well as surprisingly quiet despite being so central. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone, particularly those visiting Chicago for the first time and keen to be centrally located. Michael was always very helpful and responded to any queries promptly.
Considering the price of the rental, one would expect excellent mattresses, which these were not. Location and a good night sleep are what one would expect. Location is excellent, mattresses need significant upgrade and should be done immediately otherwise I would look elsewhere. I rent my house out and know what is expected of a luxury rental. This didn't compare!
Location and comfort are the key words... just 1/2 block from intersection of Rush and State Streets with shopping and restaurants all around. Property is 4-story residence divided into 4 apartments with common stairway and key code entry door on each floor. The three 2-bedroom units have large living rooms and dining rooms and well equipped kitchens. Beds are comfortable and living room hide-a-bed couches have inflatable mattress with electric pump (much better than a folding mattress)
Great location to walk around and sight see. I would book again at this property.
We had a wonderful stay in Chicago. Very comfortable accommodations and beautiful.
I have no worries in recommending this rental. The location alone deserves 5 stars. Once our overstuffed luggage was in our third floor rental we were able to negotiate our third floor apartment easily. Now honestly for a non stair climber its a steep climb from the second to third floor but once you are there it is worth it. Restaurants, shopping, wandering about are right there outside your door. Our family of 5 were more than comfortable and the "nest" thermostat was easy to use and keep us warm and cozy. Kitchen was fully stocked and neat and tidy. Bathrooms were also stocked and I grabbed a couple more towels from laundry room on main floor so we were covered during morning getting ready to get out the door. Sofa was cozy and we had plenty of seating for 5 adults. We look forward to another visit soon.....maybe tomorrow?
