A welcoming house situated in a quiet street directly behind Oliva old town’s stunning San Roc Church. From the entrance hall, take stairs down to a large sun-lit atrium courtyard, or take stairs up to a spacious first floor sun terrace with unobstructed views across the orange groves, surrounding villages and hills in the distance. On the lower, atrium level, there is 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom, both with fitted wardrobes. The ground floor has a modern, fully equipped kitchen with large fridge/freezer, oven, washing machine and microwave. It extends to a dining area with seating for 6. There is also a bathroom with shower on this level. On the first floor there is a large double bedroom, second shower room and a light, airy lounge with flat screen TV and DVD home theatre system. Double doors from the lounge lead out to the terrace which has a table and chairs and sun loungers. An integrated garage is an added bonus for drivers after navigating Oliva’s narrow, cobbled streets.
I would like to say how much we enjoyed our holiday in Oliva. Your house is fantastic and was perfect for our family. Our teenage son loved having his own space in the atrium. We loved having a bottle of wine on the terrace.
I would like to say a special thank you for the supplies in the house: bread, butter, milk, water etc. Arriving at that time we would have
struggled to get to the shops.
The neighbours, although spoke no English and us no Spanish, were great. I think they were just curious and the man next door took great
enjoyment in directing us into the garage any time he was out sitting in the street.
The Moors and Christians fiesta was an experience. Four days of partying, bands and fireworks. We had rented a car and explored some
of the area which is lovely both north and south of Oliva. We would definately like to go back to the area.
Lovely town house set in the narrow winding streets of the historical old town. House was well maintained a real home from home. Beautifully decorated with some lovely traditional touches. Fantastic views from the roof terrace with a most welcome breeze. Parking can be a problem but this house is one of the few with a garage!.manager met us on the edge of town and took us to the house. We had asked in advance for some shopping as we were arriving on a Sunday, so the fridge was well stocked. Plenty of local bars and restaurants within walking distance El Pelut being our favourite. There is a British bar nearby Amigos good cheap food and a warm welcome. Bar Baza also deserves a mention especially for the Tapas night on a Friday. The beach is a couple of minutes drive away and is stunning miles of golden sand and shallow water ideal for children. No high rise at the back just a few bars and restaurants. Can't wait to return!
We had a lovely stay in this property which was a home from home experience, the only downside was that it could be warm and the fans didn't always take the edge off this.
Lynette was great and arranged both high chair, cot and bedding at no additional charge. With an 18mth child, there were a few challenges, however we managed to overcome all and it was lovely having such a large house that he could enjoy himself without that "contained" feeling.
The area is lovely, set in the historic village with welcoming locals and the expanse of beach just a 5-10 min drive. Driving / parking to the accom probably not for the feint hearted as very narrow.
Ensure you read the folder at the house with recommendations of restaurants / things to do - invaluable.
We really enjoyed our stay in Oliva. The house is in an ideal location, close to San Roc square where we enjoyed relaxing evenings in the local bars whilst our 9 year old son played football with the local boys. We are really pleased we chose to visit Oliva, the local people are very friendly, although it helps to speak a little spanish, and the town itself has everything you need for a real spanish experience. No noisy tourists!
Our 17 year old daughter and friend found it very enjoyable and Oliva is a safe place for teenagers to have enough freedom to feel independent.
The local beaches are beautiful and even at the height of the season - uncrowded. The local sports centre has a great outdoor pool which only cost 14 euros for 5 of us for the whole day.
The house is beautiful, spacious, very clean and well-equipped. We found the roof terrace useful at night to enjoy a relaxing drink, snack and chat - watching the lights of Oliva go out before we retired to bed very late!
We visited at the hottest time of the year and found the house extremely hot, even the fans provided very little relief - additional fans or air-conditioning would be very useful at this time of year.
All in all we had a fantastic time, lovely house, nice neighbourhood and we would definetly return.
Oliva is at Valencia’s southern tip in the “Oranges & Lemons Region” where the Costa Del Azahar meets the Costa Blanca. It is a traditional Spanish market town steeped in history. Many fiestas, including July’s famous Moors & Christians, parade along the narrow, cobbled streets of the old town and past the square of the medieval San Roc Church that leads directly to the house. The square has two welcoming bars to choose from, with local bakeries, patisseries, cafes and a lively restaurant, a short walk away. Oliva has 10kms of fine, golden sand beaches flying European Blue Flags for their quality and range of facilities, including volleyball, windsurfing hires, beach bars, cafes, restaurants and children’s play areas. Beaches are 5 minutes away by car. Ten minutes further is Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. It is a par 72 course of 6,350m and 15 of its 18 holes have water hazards. The club has two tennis and paddle courts. All facilities are bookable by non-members.
