Peaceful Serenity Relax

  • 5 of 5

We visit the Island on a regular basis- this was the best rental we have stayed in. Being near the water and all the wild life was amazing. If you appreciate nature this is the place for you. If you are looking for a hotel that has nothing out of place this is not for you. The home inside looks lived in and full of charm. The beds and furniture were of high quality and comfortable. The porches were amazing as well as the view. We caught blue crabs, watched deer frolicking, saw turtles, too many birds to mention and a red fox. And of course the ducks made their rounds every day in the neighborhood yards. We hope to return soon.

Good

Upon arrival we found some spackleing fallen off the ceiling in back bedroom. We cleaned it up. Not something that was needed to be fixed while we stayed. Then on farther inspection we found unwashed wet towels and a set of sheets in a basket in the washroom. I washed them up. There was also hair on the toilet in the middle bathroom. I then tried to call Julie the house keeper the primary contact by phone and emailed her. Her phone message box was full and I could not leave her a message. She did not email me back either. I was unable to reach her so I contacted the secondary contact, the maintenance man and spoke to him. He gave me the owners name and number. He returned my call on Thursday. He was very apologetic and told me that he would return our $60 cleaning fee. On Thursday afternoon when taking a shower I found that the tub shower liner had pink and orange stuff growing on the bottom of it. I threw it in the washer and it cleaned up nicely.

We do wish that we had found the house cleaner. Otherwise, it is a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed the sunroom, porches, and fishing off the dock on the canal. It was very nice having the outside shower to use when returning from the beach.

We would stay here again.

Quite and peaceful.

  • 4 of 5

No one told Julie that we were scheduled. When we contacted her, she came right over and cleaned up while we went to dinner. She did a great job.

The grill is worn out and dangerous. Only one of the four burners would light and was controlled by a rigged device in the hose between the tank and the grill.

Better communication by the booking agent would help and the owner should inspect his property to keep it in safe and enjoyable condition.
