Very clean large Cape Cod style home, walk to Sea street beach (9/10 mile) with plenty of parking, 5 bedrooms in main house 2 bedrooms and a sleeper in cottage. AWESOME HOUSE FOR FAMILY REUNIONS! In 2013 we added a cottage and screened in porch off the garage. Main house has a DR, FR, updated Kitchen, warm outdoor shower with changing area. Plenty of privacy, double car garage turned into a great room with large TV kitchen and family room set up, DVD, VCR and wet bar. Great for multiple families. Propane Weber grill and 2 full baths, one half bath and an outdoor shower, washer and dryer. Walk to downtown Dennisport, Sundae School, Cafe's, parks, antique shops. Free WiFi, farmers porch with rocking chairs, plenty of yard for a game of horse shoes or volleyball. Antique home with updated kitchen and bathrooms. Hardwood floors throughout. Smart TV, two WIFI boxes, everything you need to make it a perfect vacation or reunion space. Solid walls and plenty of space to be alone if needed. Dogs considered on a case by case basis. Pack and Play also on premises if needed. 2016 we have replaced some old cedar shingles on the main house and are adding a deck off the kitchen. The house is old and unique, but has updated kitchen, bathrooms etc. Older charm, new amenities. If you want contempory this house is not for you.
Our family has been going to Dennisport for 3 generations. We plan on retiring in this house down the road. We are a casual family that appreciates summers at the Cape and family values. Although I consider Dennisport my home, we live year round North of Boston.
Summer 2016 we are reshingling the siding of the house this as we speak and adding a deck off the kitchen. Will be complete prior to any renters coming in. New pictures to come.
Lynn purchased this house in 2013
We purchased this home because of the location to the beach, town and because it's in Dennisport. I feel at home here because that's where my parents brought us every summer. Dennisport offers beaches on the ocean side and beaches on the Bay side of the Cape. This house is an old Captains house and was built in the late 1700's. Registered as the oldest home in Dennis Port It has all the charm of a typical Cape Cod home, the kitchen and bathrooms have been updated. Very solid quiet home. Because its the Cape and an old home we cannot prevent possible dampness or a fly, mouse etc from possibly getting in the house. We treat the house with preventive measures, but cannot guarantee no bug will enter the house, especially through the great/garage room. Its still a garage!
Please no parking on the grass we have an irrigation system.
The farmer's front porch is the place to relax, read a book, play a game or enjoy a beverage. Many homes at the Cape have very little land to them, this property offers a lot of quiet and privacy. We also loved how many people it will sleep, perfect for multiple families. 3/4 of an acre and plenty of space to get alone time. Very quiet rooms.
Common comments by renters are"the house is much bigger than we expected". If you like new and crisp modern homes this house is not for you. Its targeted to large family groups at a reasonable price. Its not perfect, but we live there and do work on it every year to be sure its safe, clean and affordable!
My son married on Cape Cod over Labor Day Week-end. We are a large clan, and I was eager to find a place that could accommodate our multi-generational group that numbered twenty. The Duggan's property was ideal for our needs. There is so much to commend this rental - its location -less than a mile from an oceanfront beach - the charming layout, and the generosity of owner Lynn who really made you feel at home. We loved the old house with its wonderful porch, the deck in the backyard, and the seclusion available in the cabin. The large yard allowed us to put on a festive cook-out for the wedding party, and the ocean nearby ensured frequent swims. The fire pit was a real plus. The kitchen is well-equipped, so those who need to cook meals "for the masses" will find they have everything they need. Lynn remained available throughout our stay, promptly texting replies to my many questions. The property is very well maintained, charmingly old with many modern amenities. My family visiting from D.C. wants to return, as do I.
The house was absolutely perfect for our vacation! Everything we needed and more was there. Plenty of space, and the kids loved the family room with the screened in garage door. It was conviently located to everything. Lynn was extremely helpful. Our favorite daily activity was sitting on the front porch with our morning coffee planning our daily activities. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!
This house was perfect for multiple families! There were so many sleeping configurations to accommodate couples, kids and guests. We had perfect weather so didn't spend much time inside, but the screened great room is hands down the best use of a 2 car garage I've ever seen! We used the deck for meals, the back yard (actually the front of the house?) for badminton & other lawn games, and the side yard for coffee in the morning and fires in the firepit at night. The porch was a favorite for reading and the living room in the original house was a cozy and cool place for the kids to watch TV. The great room was filled with games and books and another large TV we didn't use (weather was too nice!). The kitchen had more plates, glasses, cookware and utensils than imaginable (including lobster crackers and picks galore!) and was clean and easy to use. Best of all, there were air conditioners AND fans in all bedrooms and the beds were comfortable. Two full baths inside and the largest and most private outdoor shower worked for our large group. We didn't use the cottage much but the teenagers liked it for hanging out. The location was fantastic - walking distance to Sundae School (kids had ice cream every night, sometimes after having it elsewhere earlier in the day) and a few restaurants. And a nice morning walk to the beach was a great way to start the day. We mostly explored other beaches around the Cape as we visited with family and friends, but the beach at the end of the street was good. The house was clean, comfortable, well appointed and surpassed the description and pictures on the listing. The owner was in touch with us before, during and after the stay and was extremely helpful, accessible and responsive. I would rent here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend to family and friends!
We had a wonderful time at Sea St. The house accommodated us all, and the kids loved being able to all sleep together in the room with all the twins! We had a great family vacation, with plenty of space for us all inside the house and out. We enjoyed walking for ice cream, and being close to town and the beach. Thanks for having us!
The house is perfect for a large group of people including kids. The area around the house is good for the kids to play. We had an awesome time during our visit to Cape Cod and this house played an important role.
The house is located close to the beach and there are several restaurants close by.
The owner is very nice and helpful. She did everything to makes us feel at home.
Walk to downtown Dennisport, Sundae School, restaurants, bars, cafe's. Enjoy the many beaches of Dennisport from this centrally located home.
