About Linda Lohman
We are the Lohmans, Linda and Terry. We live in Cary, NC outside of Raleigh. Linda is the Property Manager. We also use Serenity Falls and have it set up for our needs as well as our guests.
Linda Lohman purchased this Cabin in 2000
Why Linda Lohman chose Boone
We originally bought Serenity Falls because we enjoyed coming to the mountains for Christmas Tree Pickin', Fall foliage , Skiing, Hiking. After several years we decide to share Serenity Falls with others. We rented in the area and knew we wanted to be different. That'w why we made Serenity Falls so homey and offer so many consumables. Who needs to pack all those little things?

Great location, cozy but no internet
Although we had a good time, we had a couple of minor problems. The online listing wasn’t accurate. There is NO WORKING INTERNET. The owner blocked Facebook, all streaming sites like Netflix and Hulu, and online gaming. We couldn’t even get the internet to work to allow us to check our bank accounts or figure out where we were going to go for the day. It was a huge challenge because we couldn’t figure out what we wanted to do until we got into town and at that point, we could have been 40 minutes away from what we wanted to do...it was a struggle. The new hot tub was wonderful, but there was a serious lack of towels and it wasn’t as clean as we would have liked. We found dead bugs in the family room, pop gun caps all over the floor and temporary girls earrings. The scenery was wonderful, but unfortunately, if I had known about the internet before we got there, I would have never rented this cabin and we won’t be returning.
Thank you for your feedback. You're correct the only internet available to us is rural data based satellite internet and it does have some minor limitations otherwise it works just like home. While we can't offer streaming and on-line gaming we do have upgraded Satellite TV with pay per view (free to our guests), 100's of DVD's, games, books, etc. It's always been a positive, guests embrace our natural surrounding the trapping of home life slip away. Our 20 yrs of experience have shown us 8 bath towels, 4 hand, 4 washcloths are usually sufficient for weekend stay for 2, such as yourselves. A quick call and I could have supplied you with many many more. We want to meet all your vacation needs. Our Arrival Letter does suggest bringing beach towels for the hot tub and creek because we've learned some guests do prefer large snuggy towels after the hot tub. I realize our website and letter are full of so much info that it's easy to miss things. My apologies. I will say we've tried to reason with the bugs and asked them to die before the housekeeper comes. Our exterminator that comes twice a month, required with mountain living, has told me dead bugs are the best bugs. :) Cleanliness is our utmost goal. Our housekeeper texts pictures when done. Please accept my apologies for not spotting the earring back and caps(?). Terry and I make it a priority to ensure our guests enjoy their stay to the best of our abilities. We will upgrade the internet when its available in the mountains. Hopefully we'll see you again when technology catches up.
Great Relaxing cabin
We truly enjoyed our stay the cabin. Everything from the fluffy towels to sitting in the rocking chairs on the deck listening to the waterfall ease a peaceful experience. We were there to take our two grandchildren to their freshman year at ASU. The drive to the cabin several times is the only thing that was a hassle. Once st the peaceful cabin we soon forgot the travel.
Sounds like you really enjoyed Serenity Falls. What can we do in the future to earn all 5 stars???
Quiet, relaxing get away
This little cabin is a great escape from busy life. Quaintly located ~30 minutes from town and surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature. The creek/falls behind the cabin were fairly dried up but the access to the river across the street was a major plus.
Communication and check-in with the owners was seamless and the cabin provided all the necessary amenities.
Thank you!! Please let us know how we could have earned all 5 stars. Terry and I strive for a 5 star experience at Serenity Falls. You're review certainly read like one.
Great house. Very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay.
Great house. Love it. So very peaceful.
This secluded log cabin offers 10 acres of mountain, a spectacular view, a trickling WATERFALL that flows inches from the back deck, as well as a swift moving CREEK to wade, swim, or fish in.
However, 'secluded mountain cabin' doesn't mean bare necessities. The Serenity Falls vacation rental cabin has all the modern conveniences you've come to expect.
Hiking is just inches away on our PRIVATE TRAILS that traverse the mountain and lead to a swinging vine.
When it's time to relax, nothing beats a dip in the HOT TUB with a view of the illuminated waterfall, or some marshmallows around the campfire.
Our rental cabin is one of the few that has a rock lined FIRE-PIT that many of our guests have highlighted as a great family experience!
When you're ready to explore, the cabin is just minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Wilkesboro and many local North Carolina vacation attractions.
If you're feeling really energetic, horseback riding, fishing, golfing, whitewater rafting, and snow skiing are all close by. And for that back to nature feeling, the North Carolina high country offers unparalleled hiking and biking.
Whether it's a spot along the Blue Ridge Parkway, a trip up Grandfather Mountain, or hiking Linville Falls.
Being located near Boone, NC, this vacation rental cabin features a little of everything for everyone.
We have a guest book filled with TESTIMONIALS from our satisfied guests. Our cabin is warmly decorated, always clean, well maintained, and a lot of thought has been put into making sure it has every thing you need to relax and enjoy your stay.. And it should, it is also our FAMILY RETREAT! You have full access to all the same cabin amenities that we enjoy during our stays.
The peak FALL FOLIAGE occurs in the Boone / Blowing Rock area in October! But book early as our cabin rental calendar fills up way in advance.
The NC mountain peak CHRISTMAS TREE cutting season begins the 3rd week of November. This is a fabulous time to visit the mountains, spend time with your family, and cut your own tree! A fresh cut tree will easily last through New Years. (This is how we first became hooked on going to the Boone / Appalachian mountains area!)
The NC high country snow SKI/tubing/boarding season is usually mid-November through March on the local ski slopes. And nothing beats coming back to your rental cabin and soaking away the day in the Hot-Tub.
The view from the Hot-tub is spectacular with the cabin spotlights lighting up the water fall and creating an amazing silhouette around the trees that outline the falls.
