Enjoyed are trip. would stay here again.
Had a great time. Really enjoyed the fire pit. Would recommend.
This place wasn't awful and had a nice backyard with lake access. However it was damp and hot inside the house. I know we stayed at the end of September, but it was high 80s those 3 days and we ended up having to leave a day early as it was too hot in the home-there is no AC. Also, as soon as we got there we placed our daughter on the carpet to crawl around and noticed that the carpets felt damp and when we picked her up off the floor her legs were black with dirt. There were multiple areas of cobwebs in the home as well. It was very affordable so these things were somewhat expected. However if you plan to spend most of your time outside it's not a bad place. So overall an ok stay.
Sunset on Seneca Lake - a perfect spot
The cottage is perfect - very homey and offered everything we were looking for. Kitchen was loaded with everything we needed to make a nice meal. Bedrooms offered a nice selection of reading material, comfortable beds, and linens. Bathroom was welcoming, lots of clean towels and clean, nice space. The best part of this cottage is the access right on the lake - A PERFECT dock, patio and lawn area...Complete with comfortable Adirondack chairs and PLENTY of firewood. We BBQd outside on a well maintained grill that had an abundance of nice grilling tools. We LOVED utilizing the kayaks!!! We will be back, it was a very nice stay.
This is a lake cottage in the truest sense. Beautiful views for 180 degrees on the lake.
This was a wonderful place to spend the week. The cottage has everything you would need in a home away from home. Easy access to everything you could ever want or need to do. I would highly recommend spending some time here, as long as you understand that living by the lake comes with many bugs. It was a joy to wake every morning to look out at the lake with my cup of coffee to see the ever changing views. From the ducks and the geese to the everyday visit from a blue heron in the creek adjacent to the property. I would definitely use this property again. Thank you to the property owners for the opportunity to stay here.

Peace and tranquility
What a great getaway and location. We loved the water frontage and the level lot. And the sunsets were spectacular. The cottage was fully stocked, spic and span clean and very cozy. There is nothing like some vintage R and R on the lake. Wonderful!!
It doesn’t get much better than this!
What an unbelievably peaceful and beautiful place to stay. The cottage is comfortable, clean and well maintained. The view is gorgeous, and the sunsets are spectacular. There is a large creek that separates you from one set of neighbors (who are a retired couple that are very quiet) and the property on the other side is for sale, not currently occupied, and adjoins State land. In other words, it is like you have a private retreat. We cannot imagine wanting anything more for a vacation spot.
Regarding to the two negative reviews: our family has been staying at this property for many years, and has never encountered a problem. We have never been attacked by bugs, never smelled urine in the cottage, and always have found the property to be clean. Almost all of the windows are new and have screens (and all of them open), fans have consistently been provided, and have never noticed any odors. Anywhere. Our most recent stay was from late September until early October 2015, and there were no stains on any of the carpeting. At different occasions during our stay, four family members fell asleep while watching television and the sectional did not come apart. In all the years that we have stayed at the cottage, we have never found food in the yard or bugs in the cottage, and there have always been ample cleaning supplies. And this year, the owners generously provided campfire wood. If you are fortunate enough to find a cottage where you are allowed to bring your dogs (with food allergies), a reasonable person would watch over them to ensure that there was nothing that would make them sick. We can only wonder, were the complaints mentioned in the negative reviews initially made in the hope of receiving a discount, and when that proved unsuccessful, put on VRBO to be mean-spirited? From what our experiences have been staying at this property, it is the only conclusion we can draw.
It’s a great place, and the owners are very caring people. Do yourself a favor, and ignore the bad reviews from the summer of 2015-you won’t regret it!
