The Adirondack Mountains offer one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. year round. Auskerada is located in the Adirondacks, and offers a great vantage point for exploring all of what upper New York state has to offer. Auskerada (Aus-ker-a-da), meaning 'the stream of many fishes,' is one of several Mohawk Indian names for the East Canada Creek. Auskerada provides a private and comfortable place to settle in, with a natural stone, wood-burning fireplace and modern amenities,including wireless internet,digital cable, and free statewide long distance.

The cabin has rustic charm that only a cabin can offer. Beautifully decorated with original Adirondack style pieces by the owner, Auskerada offers 3 bedrooms, and sleeps 6. A great lodge for a romantic weekend getaway or a top quality vacation week for you and your family. Relax in our year-round comfortable setting.

Our rooms and living spaces are elegant, comfortable, and inviting. Every view out any window reminds you of why you chose this cabin. The grounds are nicely landscaped in the Adirondack style and is perfect any time of year.

The inside is rustic Adirondack charm! Comfortable log beds and bedding with plenty of seating for everyone. Enjoy 'Pine's Peak' our screened in private balcony with only forest views. Our spring fed well offers the most delicious glass of water imaginable. After drinking our water, bottled water tastes funny.

The wood burning stone fireplace and mantle is inviting and harkens back to a simpler time bringing together friends, family, and acquaintances. The coffee is ALWAYS on us! Enjoy a fresh ground cup of coffee any time of the day. Inside you'll find a generous supply of games and puzzles to encourage quality family time. If being outdoors is your 'thing', a hiking trail right at your door goes on for miles or walk down to the lake to fish, relax on the dock, swim, or canoe with the 2 man canoe we provide.

It has to be clean!! Auskerada is a newly renovated 'upper-quality' lodge. We strive to maintain a very clean, and allergy-free environment. Therefore, we do not allow pets. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The perfect place to relax and refresh again!

My girlfriend and I have been looking for a place to escape our busy restaurant management careers in the city, and couldn't have found a more serene and private location. We were looking for solitude, and that's exactly what we got! The closest thing to civilization we saw were the occasional deer or fox wondering through the woods. We left the cabin a couple times to head to town for supplies and sight seeing, but really couldn't wait to get back to the cabin fast enough. Our favorite experience was early morning coffee while sitting in the Jacuzzi, listening to nothing but the breeze through the forest. The amenities and design were unique and charming, your quintessential cabin in the woods. Already booked our next getaway in October, and can't wait to see the fall leaves. Thank you, Chris for being so accommodating to all of our needs!

Heads Up About Trail

This is being written as a "heads up" to anyone planning to hike the Auskerada trail as part of your stay. It was not a usable trail when we stayed and--based on our experience--it is unlikely to be for some time.

Chris knew we would be snowshoeing on the trail while staying at the cabin--because we talked about it when making the arrangements with him on the phone and again when we were there in person. Yet he did not inform us of the serious legal dispute with his neighbors up the trail.

Because of this, we had the unfortunate experience of being aggressively confronted and blocked from hiking the trail by very angry neighbors less than a mile in. There were lots of threats and aggressive actions towards us. But we calmed them down enough to talk with them. There was no way they were allowing the use of the trail to anyone anytime soon!

Needless to say, our stay did not turn out to be the serene, stress-free experience we deserved. But more importantly, this trail dispute could be a very dangerous situation to others not made aware. Therefore, we strongly recommend you ask Chris about the trail dispute before securing your trip--if you plan to hike it.

We texted him as we left to inform him of the experience and recommended he remove reference to the trail from his site. Our focus and concern was not on ourselves but on him and his future renters. He said his neighbors were in the wrong legally and he would not be removing anything from his site about the trail. So there you are.

Owner's Response: You guys were "negative Nancy's" from the second you walked in the door. I was quite shocked at how much complaining you both did. Everyone loves Auskerada and I was quite taken back by your negative attitude. I can only assume that you just brought it with you. Honestly I should've kicked you out the first day when you were threatening to leave because of the scented plug in . Regarding the trail, that guy does not own the trail. He doesn't even live up there. He inherited some vacant land and he decided to run a barrier across a state owned snowmobile trail. He has received a cease and desist order from the deputy and has no authority to keep people off the trail. He does not have a lawsuit against the town, the town has taken over the trail and is suing HIM for harassing all the people who own cottages in the area. That trail has been a snowmobile trail for 40 years and everyone in the town has every right to use that trail. The guy can be a jerk, but he's completely harmless. I wish you had told me about it sooner instead of contacting me after you left, because then I could have taken it up with him. In all fairness, I was under the impression that he removed the barrier because the state has asked him to.

Chraming and Comfortable

We had an awesome time. We liked that it was set back in the woods, but close enough to the lake(s). This is our 2nd time there, and my 5 year old daughter always asks to go back. I think my personal favorite part is sitting on the rustic looking front porch in the morning drinking coffee. The fire pit in the back is really great for relaxing and having a fire with friends. Great experience once again

We spent a lovely week at Auskerada. The cabin has a wonderful Adirondack feel but is also full of modern amenities to enjoy. While the cabin is definitely geared to adults we brought our children and had a fantastic time playing in the private yard and enjoying time on the screened in porch playing cards and games. Chris goes above and beyond to welcome guests and the cabin is beautiful.

Auskerada Pt.4

Going up to Auskerada this past January will have been the 4th time, in the last three years, that my girlfriend and I have been there. Coming to the cabin always feels like coming home. The cabin itself is absolutely beautiful, as well as the property it sits on (nice and secluded). It is always amazingly clean and perfect every time we stay.Chris is a wonderful host, and goes above and beyond to ensure each and every guest's time is more than perfect. Auskerada is nearby to many outdoor activities in the beautiful Adirondacks, but also not to far away from major cities and attractions. I HIGHLY recommend staying here; we're already planning our next visit!

Auskerada is conveniently located close to several lakes, streams, hiking and snowmobile trails, and state forests. Guests use this location as a base for many day trips to places such as The Great Escape, Water Safari,Saratoga Springs (culture, arts, horse track, etc), local gift shops, golf, Fonda Speedway, and other fun locations. The secluded lodge sits on 3 private acres and borders forest and hiking trails(which we've dubbed 'The Auskerada Trail'.
