Words can not explain the feelings I had when I walked into this home.
The pictures that are on the website does this property no good. When looking at this home you would think it is small, until you open that front door. BOOM in your face nothing but space. The first thing my toddler said when walking in was HELLLOOOOO... I felt like this was my home the energy, space and set up of this home was amazing. The owner (Alex) was great he was very friendly and willing to help with anything I needed. At one point I felt like I was talking to a friend and not the owner of this house. We was welcome with cookies, fresh bread, coffee, beer etc. I can go on and on. All I can really say is that you will not be disappointed at no point going this route. I will give him a call in the future because he made me feel nothing but comfortable in his home. I stayed for 3 days. Trust me when it was time to go no one wanted to get out of the bed. The location is great, you are right around the corner from everything, which is good if you do not have a car. The woman next door had friends over on our last night. She sang and played the guitar it was like a mini concert but the vibe was beautiful and she can sing. I will be back..... For Sure.....
Thank You Alex for opening you home to me!
Our crew spent six days here, and had a wonderful time. The house was comfortable, well-stocked, and beautifully decorated. The location is perfect--close enough to the French Quarter to walk there, and far enough away to avoid the chaos when we wanted some peace and quiet. We had brunch each morning at either the Ruby Slipper or Horn's, and enjoyed jazz and drinks on Frenchman Street. Thanks to Alex for all the information on local tours and for the hospitality. If we ever make it back to New Orleans, we'll definitely be staying here again.
The house was large and spacious and perfect for 6 adults. Alex was a great host, walking us through everything in the house including the awesome sound system. The neighborhood was great, very walkable to Frenchmans street with lots of bars and resturants. We will definitely stay again
The house was in a quiet section of the French Quarter. The owner did a fantastic job of "pre-stocking" the house with all the basic essentials and even some unexpected "welcome home" items on the fridge. He gave me a personal tour and made sure I was comfortable with all facets of the house. The place was very clean and very well maintained. The pictures of the house don't do it justice -- it really is a great property with an expansive back deck that is perfect for a late afternoon, early evening BBQ. Frenchmen Street music and venues is only a short 5 minute walk and even the hustle and bustle of Bourbon and the middle of the French Quarter is a 10-15 minute walk. We would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend it as a place to stay when visiting NOLA to all friends and family.
I come to New Orleans regularly (about twice a year), and never have I had a better experience than during my times at Chateau de Pauger. This was my second stay at "The Charm of the Marigny", which I booked almost 9 months in advance due to the high demand for this property. Alex, Tony and their team could not be more hospitable! You can customize your experience to fit your needs, and advance groceries/retail/drugstore needs that you would like to have available prior to your arrival if you forgot anything or want to save time on the front end of getting settled. The property is immaculately clean with 3 spacious bedrooms, full kitchen, full washer and dryer, large living room and massive outdoor patio, which make for wonderful spaces to entertain a gathering of family or friends. I truly feel local when I'm there.
...Not to mention, the location cannot be beat. Pauger's location is unmatched, and hinges on a central fulcrum between the hip Bywater district, the musically inclined Frenchman Street crawl, and the more zany/touristy locations of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter (that everyone should experience at least once). All walking distance!
I will absolutely be reserving this property again for a 3rd time on my next visit to town (barring it is not already booked up), and anxiously look forward to the return. Thank you Alex and Tony!
My family and I stayed at Le Chateau de Pauger for 5 days in March. The home met all of our expectations and Alex was great! We walked in on the first day to a clean home, with music playing, and flowers, cookies, bread, and beer waiting for us. It's in a great location and within walking distance of the French Quarter and Frenchman Street.
The house was amazing but what impressed me the most was Alex's responsiveness to our needs. The first time I emailed inquiring about the property he responded within an hour and called me shortly after to give me an overview of the house. From that initial inquiry to the very end of our stay he always responded almost immediately. We had one issue with plumbing that came up and he was at the house within an hour with a plumber to fix the issue. I can't say enough about the Alex and this property. My family and I have used Homeaway.com a dozen or more times and this was top 2 for overall experiences.
We used Big E to get us to the French Quarter once when it was raining. Jared was our driver and he came right to our door with an umbrella to keep us out of the rain. He was very knowledgable and gave us some good local tips of what to do and eat. We found two little cafes - Horns and Cake Cafe that we went to breakfast at. Both are less than half a mile from the house and have great food. (Cake Cafe was busy but worth it)
I highly recommend Le Chateau de Pauger to anyone wanting to experience NOLA and the French Quarter without being directly in all of hustle and bustle!
