Our location is two blocks south of Interstate 5 and one block north of a San Diego Trolley stop.

We are walking distance to the Convention Center less than 1 mile (0.93); or the blue line Trolley station is located about a block right down our street.

Petco Park, the Convention Center, the Gaslamp Quarter and the rest of scenic downtown San Diego are minutes away and accessible via walking, trolley, taxi, or a very short drive.

Cross the street to the Mercado del Barrio, for your grocery needs, also a great place to eat inside (37,000sf grocery store w/ deli, bakery and more). Also in the Mercado is an Ice cream shop with great food, little Caesars pizza, Asian Wok, Iron Fist brewery, Mariscos El Pulpo and much more on the way. Rental bike stations available in the Mercado as well. Right next-door is Ryan Brothers Coffee House.

Pots, pans, cooking sheets, salad bowels and serving plates, platters and bowels, toaster, blender, strainers, salad spinner, etc etc, everything needed for a family dinner, or BBQ.

We have an array of spices along with salt, pepper, vinegar and oil, tea's, sugar, creamers, Coffee Flavorings, and hot chocolate. Baggies, tinfoil, plastic wrap etc..

We are located on the eastern edge of the Gaslamp/Downtown San Diego, near the historic Chicano Park, surrounded by the warehouse district, residential, and the Mercado del Barrio shopping center with a 37,000sf grocery store with deli, butcher, bakery, fresh produce etc. and Cocina with pre-made authentic Hispanic food.

We chose this property for it's unique Location.

When we purchased this property, we knew that the City would be revitalizing our Urban Neighborhood, building a Mercado right across the street from our property, and the location was part of San Diego's NEWEST Revitalization project. and continues to add restaurants, a Brewery, shops etc..

Recently added is the "City's" Rent-A-Bike, right across the street... Rent by the hour the day, month... The bike stations are all over downtown... Rent across the street, bike to the Gaslamp / downtown area, park your Bike and return for a Bike after sightseeing..

We are less than a mile (0.93) to the Convention Center, to Petco Park, Gaslamp Quarter, Downtown, close to Seaport Village, Little Italy, Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, and much more.

What makes this house unique

Our property is across the street from the new Mercado Del Barrio (Great Local Cuisine) We are in a very unique Urban Neighborhood, with so much going on; Local Artists shows (the Root Factory), Farmers Market, take a walk to the Park, and down the Pier.

We are located by the San Diego Bay, close to the San Diego Convention Center, Centre City, East Village, and the Petco Baseball Ballpark. Adjacent to all forms of transportation and the San Diego Bay, its eastern San Diego location is immediately next to a burgeoning downtown area. We are set in an Urban Neighborhood on the Eastern edge of the Gaslamp Quarter.

Athena and Bo were really nice hosts. From the very start, communication was very good, and while we were in San Diego they kept on being very approachable, be it with the number to a good taxi service, or the address to a nice restaurant. The appartment itself was very comfortable and fully equiped with more than we could possibly need. The supermarket in front of the house was also very convenient. We had a lovely time at Casa de Corason, especially loving the deck in the evening, and will certainly come back if we return to San Diego!

A fantastic place to stay in San Diego!!!

My mother, my daughters, and I stayed at Athena-Rae's and Bo's apartment for 3 nights from March 23rd-March 26. We had debated whether to try a VRBO for the first time or stay in a hotel. I am INSANELY glad we gave this VRBO location a try! There are so many reasons we loved this place:

#1. Athena-Rae and Bo!!!!! They were helpful, accommodating, flexible and easy to contact throughout the whole process. They clearly take pride in their property and try to think of anything and everything you could possible need or want during a visit to San Diego and provide it! Bo met us a gave us a detailed overview of their rental. Athena-Rae checked in with us a few days later and visiting with her ended up being one of our favorite parts of the trip! We felt like we made a new friend! She is funny and sweet and super proud of her first grandbaby, who is adorable! We just thought they were the greatest!!!

#2. Location, location, location! It took us 10 minutes to get to Coronado beach, 15 minutes to get to SeaWorld, and 8 minutes to the Gaslamp. We were able to park right out in front of the front gate the entire trip. It made loading and unloading the car extremely easy. There was an available convenient parking garage across the street, but we never had to use it. There were many new restaurants directly across the street which looked enticing. We never had a chance to eat at them since we were so busy going other places, but we wanted to! We were able to get milk, juice, etc., from the Mercado right across the street which we walked to.

#3. Their place is stocked! All of the plates and utensils are color coordinated and organized. If you have kids, they had anything you could ever want; a baby gate, Pack & Play, stroller, and beach toys. When we went to Coronado beach, we used their beach bag, chairs, blanket, and umbrella. We had a blast and were so appreciative to have these items during our beach excursion. There was any kind of spice you could want. The apartment was incredibly clean and comfortable. The pictures don't do it justice for how nice it is. My girls especially loved the "disco fireplaces" in the bedrooms.

#4. The beds are comfortable!! We all slept great!!

#5. Our security deposit was refunded the day we left.

I could go on and on. We can't thank Athena-Rae and Bo enough for making our trip one of the best ever by providing us with what was like a "second home." We hope when we come back in the future we can stay here again!!

Your 2 Girls are beautiful as is your Family. I want to mention the following, because she didn't- We had been communicated via email and when I was in the Hospital Family waiting area, I had sent an email as her stay was upcoming, I had mentioned I was waiting for my new Granddaughter to be welcomed into the world. Her excitement for Bo, myself, my Son who is my only child and my Daughter-N-Law was genuinely apparent in her warm words and her shared excitement. When we met, her and her Family had a gift for baby Charlotte, that alone should help me explain what wonderful people they are, but wait....We shared pictures, mine all of Charlotte and their trip to LegoLand on their way to S.D. Corinne and Family, Bo and I thank you and I will be sending update pic's... You are always welcome and can't wait to see you again. Outstanding San Diego Home!

This home was an OUTSTANDING place for us to spend the All-Star Week! The home was 3 bedrooms, perfect for our group; close to the trolley, so we were able to leave our car and not have to drive; and the deck and barbecue gave us a great view! I would HIGHLY recommend this to any family looking to visit San Diego! Athena and Bo were very responsive; we had no issues; the neighborhood is outstanding, and the pride of ownership in the property shines through!

Great modern space, very comfortable with a perfect location.

I was very impressed with the amenities and complete living accommodations. The hosts, Athena and Bo,

couldn't have been nicer and more helpful when it came to suggestions on what to do and where to go .

Great property for family gathering!

This is the second time we have stayed at Casa del Carazon. The first time was with college girlfriends and we rented the lower unit and the bungalow. This time, we rented all three units--the lower and upper unit and the bungalow for a family gathering. Everyone had a great time and all of us would come back to the property again. I recommend it highly for many reasons.

Athena is very professional and responds to emails and text quickly. She has a good eye for detail and decor and thinks of her guests needs before they realize they need something.

The property is located conveniently to the zoo, Coronado beach, Gas Lamp, etc. The grocery store is just across the street so if we forget something, it is easy to walk and get what we need. We barbecued, ate outside, watched TV in the downstairs living room. The property is also very well secured with codes that Athena changes with each guests. All the units are so well-stocked with dishes and cutlery. Athena even provides beach towels, blankets, coolers, stroller, kids beach toys. The house is very clean and comfortable. The decor is inviting and pleasing to the eye. When the light bulb in the kitchen went out, Beau came out right away to fix it. The upstairs unit was new to me and I found it to be delightful with its large custom guilted sofa and deck overlooking the city.

A person can't go wrong staying at Casa del Corazon. Five thumbs up!

Perfect location and amenities

This is our second time staying at one of Athena & Bo’s rentals, the first time was just my wife and I and we stayed in the great studio. This time we had family with us and remembered they had a few other rentals at the property. One of the best vacation rentals we have stayed in not to mention the kindness of Athena and Bo. We loved the electronic fireplaces, didn’t use the heat function but the different fire (light) options were great and kept our granddaughter entertained. The pictures are good as far as layout goes but it does look better in person.

Very well stocked kitchen with spices, all sorts of gadgets and cookware, anything we needed they had.

Loved the view from the deck off the living room w/BBQ table and chairs had to ask what the amber lit dome was, it’s the SD library, if you get a chance go check it out, it had 8 or 9 floors, coffee shop and a free tour.

Never had an issue with parking, used the free parking under the condos across the street or parked right out front. A few new places opened up since our last visit, the Iron Fist brewery was a great surprise. Athena provided free uber and lift codes which we used along with the trolley just a block away.

Great stay again, wouldn’t stay anywhere else in SD!

***Nearest Beach is 2.6 to the Tidelands and 3.94 miles across the Bridge to Coronado; the World famous Coronado Beach resort town, home of the Hotel Del Coronado..

Property Damage Protection:
The $59.00 Property damage policy is REQUIRED on each stay, it will cover you up to $1500.00 in accidental / unintentional damage, there is NO deductible. We know accidents happen. The payment system will now state you can also pick a refundable damage deposit equal to the $1500.00 the property damage policy covers. Please do NOT select the $1500.00 to be charged to your card and added to your payments, this is not a hold placed on funds, it is a charge to your card and we only accept the $59.00 Policy. Thank you for your understanding, if you have any questions at the time of booking, please let me know.
Refundable Deposit:
The $200.00 Refundable Deposit, is a "Security" deposit, as the $59.00 Property Damage protection does not cover any excessive cleaning/filth issues, unfortunately that is the sites wording and we are unable to edit their pre-set verbiage, when a quote is sent, it is listed as a "Security Deposit" returned within 24-48 hours after check-out, the refund will be credited to whichever form of payment was used.
