The house is beautiful, just as pictured. Quiet neighborhood, great view of the bay.
Gorgeous views, beautiful property, great neighbor
We spent three nights at La Petite Baleine. Night one featured one of the most incredible sunsets you will ever see; night two was cold, rainy & windy (great day to have a nice fire in the fireplace); night three was back to clear, cloudless and cool. (Being from Michigan, we are somewhat used to the cooler weather)
The villa is beautiful with some of the most magnificent views of the water you will ever see. The bedrooms that we used both looked out upon the water and the 'extra' bedroom/bathroom behind the garage worked out well for our guide/driver/now friend. There were many little extras that were included, coffee & tea, many cooking utensils that you normally don't find at all rentals...a nice plus. There is also a security system set up to protect the villa, which I accidently set off once. Within 1-2 minutes the security guard was there...and I explained to him how I'd set the system off mistakenly. (With a 100R tip, he didn't seem to mind) Although the area seems very safe, it was nice to know that system was there.
We walked down to one of the sea caves and met one of the neighbors walking on our way. He not only took us to the smaller (drip) cave near the villa, but went and got his motorcycle & sidecar and took us on another adventure to a different, larger cave. He went out of his way to show us around and when we invited him back for a beer, he said he'd always wanted to see La Petite Baleine! We gave him the tour and said our good byes, but will always remember his kindness...and our grand adventure.
We saw whales in the bay and enjoyed their frolicking from afar. All in all, a very comfortable place to stay.
