High-end comfort property: Choose either 2 or 3 bedrooms, all of which are full Ensuite with their own private baths, Gourmet kitchen, one-car attached garage, multiple patios and full access to rear courtyrd w pool, outdoor dining, patio heater for cool nights, outdoor lounge seating, Italianate Gazebo, Koi pond & waterfall. (Owner on-site in main house, but leaves guest house renter sole use of rear courtyard. Pool, outdoor dining is for enjoyment
of our guests. We do not rent property to more than one guest at a time).
We spared no expense in assuring a comfortable clean relaxing stay experience.
Guest House boasts: Chefs kitchen with Granite countertops, top of the line stainless appliances with two ovens, double-oven microwave, dishwasher and breakfast room. Private patio off breakfast room has bistro table and seating, gas BBQ and sound system speakers.
New high-speed WiFi service in Guest House. Now the Guest House has its own dedicated high-speed (100 mps) WiFi service for improved connectivity.
For your comfort: entire house is supplied by Culligan softened water.
The large Living room has a relaxing view of rear courtyard, pool, waterfalls and Italianate columned pergola and is discretely situated from neighbors. Living room has a 55' hd tv, with preferred tv (200 channels) Wifi and sound system music throughout the house with individual room speaker control. Just plug in your iPhone into the house receiver. All rooms have speakers, including bathrooms.
Down the hall you find the two Master Suites both with showers.
The larger master BR has a shower and separate Spa waterjet tub, spa tub is heated with hydrotherapy mood lighting for the ultimate time to relax and wind down.
Each suite in the Guest House & Casita has a queen bed , and walk in California closets .
There is also a half bath off the great room for your guests.
The large master bedroom also has great views of the pool and spa as does the Great room. Mountain views visible from front French-doors/patio. The large master bedroom has a TV with local programming.
Guest house has its own laundry room with large front loading washer/dryer.
The home has Ceramic tile floors throughout and Ceiling Fans in every room help create the perfect environment for your Desert experience.
The Guest House and Casita were designed to provide guests with a stay in a luxury setting that is: comfortable, relaxing, quiet and clean. yet close to everything the Desert has to offer in terms of golf, tennis, hiking, shopping, and entertainment.. Choose either 2 or 3 bedrooms, all of which are full Ensuite with their own private baths, a well appointed cooks kitchen, and one of the most relaxing resort style pool and spa outdoor lounge environments to be found in the Desert. A separate private patio with gas BBQ, washer dryer and attached one car garage with Tesla charging station complete the perfect home away from home accommodations. We offer dedicated, high-speed interent service.

Option for a 3rd ensuite bedroom by renting the attached Casita. The Casita (La Casita Firenze) is available as an optional attached 3rd bedroom to renters of the Guest House and never rented to a third party.
Guest House and Casita are part of a private 5000 sift gated estate.

Desert Sun Estate Guest House and Casita (La Casita Firenze) are ideally suited to Guests 50+ Renters must be 50 years of age or older, sorry no exceptions)
Rates based on 2 bedroom guest house and limited to maximum overnight occupancy of 4 persons that renter lists prior to booking. Any subsequent guests will be charged an additional daily rate of $175 per night. Renter has option of renting attached ensuite casita as a 3rd bedroom.
In order to comply with the City of Rancho Mirage vacation rental policy, all guests must review & agree to the short-term rental agreement which details the City of Rancho Mirage minimum age requirement & "Good Neighbor" policy that applies to all permitted vacation rental properties. Desert Sun Estate Guest House & Casita is permit# 1394.
Guest's of the Guest House may opt to also rent the Casita as a third bedroom to accommodate 2 more Guest's (Queen bed ensuite bedroom). The Casita (La Casita Firenze) is not rented as a standalone to others and is only offered as an optional bedroom for Guest's of the Guest House. Casita rental brings total sleeping capacity to 6 persons. Casita rental is minimum 3 days and does not need to be rented for the full term of your stay. So rent only for the time you expect to have short-term guests visiting you.
If owner occupying main house, you have full use of rear courtyard, owner leaves guests to their use of rear courtyard) as an oasis in the desert and the focal point of the property with its pool and spa. (Owners will leave you to your privacy when rented)
The pool/spa is saltwater (amazing) and has a pebbletech bottom. Renter may take advantage of spa and pool although pool is unheated. (You may opt for a heated pool at a $825 mo fee),
In lieu of charging a damage deposit, we require all guests to purchase a damage protection insurance policy through VRBO. The damage protection policy has a zero deductible and covers up to $3000. of damage. Any damages over $3000 are responsibility of renter. If damage occurs, renter agrees to have insurance provider to pay property owner directly for any damage incurred during stay. While damage to property rarely occurs, all renters must agree to purchase the damage protection policy through VRBO.
Note we are a permitted vacation rental property in the city of Rancho Mirage Ca (permit 1394). The city charges a 10% vacation rental occupancy tax for stays less than 29 days. Stays over 29 days have NO city tax. We collect the tax from guests at time of booking. All city taxes are then paid by owner to city of Rancho Mirage.
The rear courtyard is perfect for entertaining and enjoying the cooler peaceful nights that only the Desert offers.
There also is a large sitting area under an Italianate, columned Pergola, next to a large Koi pond with another relaxing waterfall. Sit, visit with friends, read and relax. Newly added, a six person outdoor dining table.
Guest House has its own one car garage (with Tesla charging station) and a private gated front entrance
Individuals interested in renting the Guest House/Casita must be at least 50+ years old or older in order to sign Rental Agreement and as Guest responsible for payment of rental.
Rental agreement covers 4 occupants of Guest House and as an optional 2 occupants of Casita. Desert Sun Estate has a non-rotational, non-sublet policy. The rotation of overnight guests or the addition of overnight guests not identified to owner prior to signing/agreeing to this short term rental agreement is prohibited. Any subsequent guests will be charged an additional daily rate of $175 per night. Renter has option of renting attached ensuite casita as a 3rd bedroom.
Concierge services offered: restaurant and cocktail bar reservations at the best in the Desert.

Originally from Chicago I have always loved the desert. An avid Foodie we dine out often. A former Mixologist at one of Chicago's exceptional restaurants. We thoroughly enjoy the dining here in the desert. We have many recommendations. We enjoy golf,Tennis, Hiking, and mountain Biking which Is why we love the desert It's all very close! Daily workouts and keeping in shape is not hard to do in the desert.

Our first stay at Desert Sun Estate
We had an absolutely perfect stay at Desert Sun Estate. We are regular visitors to the Desert but the place we stayed at for many years, is no longer renting....so we tried VRBO. There are always concerns when you rent from a new vacation rental....but from the moment we pulled-up at Desert Sun Estate till the day of our departure, we were completely satisfied. The guest house is very comfortable, it wasn't lacking for anything. It is impeccably clean and perfect for just enjoying the desert. We like to golf and all of our preferred courses are nearby. Desert Sun Estate host Jim & Larry couldn't be more accommodating. The rear yard was our favorite place to relax, have a drink and enjoy the serenity of the koi fish under the gazebo. We literally cant wait to return next season. We highly recommend for anyone needing a comfortable home away from home. Very glad we chose Desert Sun Estate.

Amazing place to stay!
We were fortunate to find this gem in the desert. The house is absolutely beautiful with everything you could want and its centrally located which makes getting to virtually anywhere a breeze. After enduring a snow storm in Washington State and over 10 hours of travel problems, we never thought we would get to get to the house. The owners were very welcoming and provided us with a bottle of wine and a Christmas dinner that was so amazing, I cannot stop bragging about it. The kindness and generosity we were shown after a rough travel day will forever be a wonderful memory and we are very thankful. Coffee by the pool in the morning, an inviting hot tub, 78 - 82 degree weather, happy hour drinks with Jim & Larry, and a quiet relaxing atmosphere made our Christmas get away one for the books. If you want a great vacation, stay here. You won't regret it.

What a Wonderful vacation!
We have been to Rancho Mirage in the past but decided this year to try a private home as opposed to a country club. we both golf and by being in Rancho Mirage were right in the middle of some great courses. We also thought it might be a little more relaxing in a private home. We decided on Desert Sun Estate and we were glad we did! Our hosts Jim and Larry have an exceptional Property. In a quiet neighborhood right off Country Club dr. Very close to many of the Courses we play. As soon as you walk in and see the huge window to the resort like back yard I know we found our perfect place. The home is comfortable and quite large with 2 en suite bedrooms, a large Living room and a well appointed kitchen as I love to cook! the back yard is so relaxing with a Koi pond Jacuzzi and pool. Easy to relax here that's for sure. Jim invited us to have some cocktails out at the pool which was really nice. Larry made some delicious snacks for us to nibble on and also makes come creative cocktails, Definitely a nice touch. All in all we had a great 2 weeks here and we will be back again for sure. Thanks

What a Great Time We had at Desert Sun Estate
We were looking for a place to come to relax in the Desert. We've come before in the past and have stayed in Palm Springs, Palm Desert and in Indian Wells. All have been in country clubs so we decided to try something different, so we chose Desert Sun Estates, a single family home. We were hoping a single family home would be more relaxing and we were delighted! The home is in a quiet neighborhood and has an amazing entrance. As soon an you walk in your eyes are drawn to the back yard through the large window in the den. WOW what an amazing view! Pool, Waterfall and Koi pond, our own private resort. The inside of the home is very comfortable with a large great room with TV and very comfortable furniture. The Kitchen is a cooks dream with everything you could want or need. We really enjoyed cooking and eating in the backyard. The bedrooms are very comfortable with great linens and towels. Both bedrooms have full bathrooms with very large closet space. The owners, Jim and Larry were very accommodating and treated us like family. They had a cocktail party for us and a small group of our friends, it was fun! Larry had a great cocktail list for the house, Yes a cocktail list! He was in the restaurant industry and does an amazing jobs with his drinks and Appetizers. What we really appreciated the most was that Larry & Jim seem to know the times when you want to just spend quiet time, relaxing. We really appreciated that. Overall if your looking for a comfortable relaxing time in the desert then this is the place for you!

Optional Casita rental ( 3rd bedroom): $155 per night (Casita is not rented as a standalone unit. Only rented to Guest House renter as optional additional bedroom) Guest House renter may opt to rent Casita for as many days desired ( not required to rent Casita for entire stay. Min. 3 day Casita rental. Casita cleaning fee $100.00 Payments are non-refundable, however we will apply 100% of any payments made to a future stay. Minimum age requirement for guests is 50 years plus. Stay-date confirmation & rates are subject to change until reservation is confirmed by payment.
