I grew up in northern Wisconsin. I'd like to pass the wonderful, relaxed living experience on to you and your families.
Jody Dombeck purchased this house in 2013
It's the perfect get away! Easy to find, centrally located, private and plenty of room for everyone.
Won the Brick Award in 1996, featured in area parade of homes. Spacious, with over 4800 square feet.
Would return if in the area again. We felt there plenty of dinning space, and living area. I would just say the futons we counted as bed space, and they were fine for the kids, but not really an adult. But overall a beautiful location, and we had a great time! So grateful to have a place we could bring our dog as well.
Thank you for allowing us to stay at your lovely lake side home. Your pictures on line do not do justice to how wonderfully spacious, clean and the lay out of your summer home. Our family of eighteen felt so comfortable in using all the rooms and the excellent view we had from the windows. With toddlers in three of our families we found that with having rooms on opposite ends of the hallway, during the night if one woke up the others were not disturbed. There were eighteen of us. The kitchen and dining room was so spacious as we prepared meals to eat and serve. We also liked the large deck where we could all walk outside off the main floor dinning room to eat. We spent most of our evenings eating outside. With no air conditioning we were concerned as we had two pregnant women but as Jody assured us it cools and with the fans it was not necessary, and Jody was correct. We were very comfortable. We look forward to returning to your lovely place. The Bottoms Up bar was a wonderful place to eat. Their outside area was very nice. Thank you for the wonderful time had be all!
We had a fantastic trip with our family at your home. It was a beautiful home and the lake was amazing! We enjoyed fishing off the dock and the kayaks every day. We definitely created many memories there and hope to come back in the future.
In most way, this house was perfect for what we needed. We had 8 adults and 6 kids and it was enough room for everyone to spread out when needed and to be together when we wanted to be. The deck deck is amazing and we saw the eagles all the time. The Lake is great although very cold. The only thing that was not ideal was the kitchen. We are a group that likes the home cooking and given the capacity of the house the kitchen set up was surprising. There were only two burners and there were no large pots and pans- not what we expected for a house that normally has to feed a lot of people at once. We made it work, but the kitchen could use at least a few large pots and pans.Overall, it as a great vacation and would definitely go back.
Our three generation family, 17 of us, just spent a week at this lovely home. We had a great time but how could we miss---the rain was at night and we had warm sunny days.
There were two great surprises: first, you can swim off the end of the pier (it must be 6-8 feet deep) and secondly, no bugs! There was one other thing to point out. There are 45 steps from the pier to the top of the steps and then a small hill to the house. Now for grandma that was a problem but for some of the others they did their morning exercise going up and down the stairs. To each its own!
This Lake Alice property was perfect for our family gathering this summer, especially as the weather was perfect for the North in late June, early July. The setting was lovely, and the furnishings were fairly modern and updated; the housekeeping also proved adequate upon our arrival. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the wonderful deck and at the shoreline, as well as the the leisurely boating and kayaking on the lake, in spite of the log-ridden areas. The owner, Jody, was definitely very accommodating and responsive to our inquiries.
The disadvantages were minor. We were 9 adults and 2 dogs for two of those nights and could have used one more bedroom or designated sleeping area – the room with bunk beds would have been more suitable for a group with younger people. During the week, we had adequate Wi-Fi connection, but could not access the internet so relied on our IPhones for service, but we did not have to access that too frequently anyway. The website could be updated a little – there were no longer dog kennels available (ours are housepets, so no problem for us) and there was only one firepit, which was quite adequate for our needs.
Overall a memorable family gathering.
