Kauai Condo Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom 2 Bath: Quiet tropical garden setting Balinese Decor: Hardwood&Granite

This incredible patio home in Mauna Kai captures the true North Shore Feeling. A full luxury remodel has made this the most beautiful condo I have ever seen. Hardwood, granite, and quality furnishings throughout. Please click on the calendar tab above to check availability, it's always up to date. I favor stays that are back to back with other stays or ones that fill gaps of any size.

This condo is in the heart of the lush Kauai north shore. A short hike down the Queen's path takes you to peaceful Anini Beach and the blue Pacific where you can safely swim or snorkel with the whole family. Calm waters and a rich underwater life make Anini beach one of the best swimming spots on Kauai. This peaceful stretch of beach is protected by the largest coral reef in Hawaii, so instead of foamy waves breaking up on the sand, you can expect a lake like atmosphere. The protective reef creates a beautiful blue lagoon, unsuited for surfing or body-boarding, but perfect for swimming. Many other close beaches provide world class scenery, surfing, boggy boarding fun and snorkeling.

Mauna Kai is located between the Prince Golf Course and the Makai Course. This location will provide you with the finest tropical golf in the world, or for some it may just be a beautiful walk and great albatross and whale watching. Morning and sunset views from the golf course and the Westin are fantastic. Mauna Kai's tropical breezes and warm waters can be your next dream vacation. Top off the day with a relaxing dip in your private hot tub at this Mauna Kai patio home. The tropical landscaping is over the top and this fall the avocado tree was dropping fruit! Fresh delicious oranges were plentiful on the tree by the pool.

Our beautiful Mauna Kai home is in a lush garden setting at the end of a quiet walkway. It's a garden level unit with four walk out patios. An incredibly remodeled and custom decorated 1500 square feet with two bedrooms allow plenty of room to relax. Some two bedroom two bath condos are only 1000 sq ft, this is really spacious, even a pack & play for the baby. It has new living room sofa and side chairs that add to the home like feeling, it isn't your typical bare bones condo designed to be indestructible. Free WIFI.

The last owner described the remodel process as a labor of love. He spared no expense in importing the highest quality materials from Bali and the far east. The quality of this Asian decor is usually reserved for private custom homes. A private hot tub off the living room and master bedroom will make the end of your day in paradise complete. The full size Maytag washer/dryer make it your home away from home. We look forward to staying there several times a year and make it feel like home, completely livable and unique.

Tile floors throughout the main floor give it that clean cool feel. The main living area, on the ground floor, stays cooler than units with second or third story living areas. There is no AC, as is the case with almost all Princeville condos and homes. I have never felt a need for it and quickly adjust to the tropical warmth. Wall to wall doors open to all four patios and lush tropical gardens.

The well equipped kitchen is remodeled with beautiful granite counter tops and custom hardwood cabinets from Bali. The new gourmet cook set and Jenn Air range provide a very functional touch. We enjoy great family meals and entertaining for friends and neighbors. The previous owner was an executive chef on a private yacht and added his personal touch.

The master bedroom has a paneled ceiling, entertainment center with new TV. The Japanese shoji screens offer privacy and soft exotic outdoor light. The spacious master bathroom has a double stone sink, full soaking bathtub and shower. The guest bedroom and bath is equally beautiful with antiques, Asian art and hardwood carvings and a nice ceiling fan. A mother of pearl translucent sink is one of the special features.

The Mauna Kai pool is the largest condo pool in Princeville, a pool where you can actually swim laps! Our condo is close to this great pool. The gazebo offers a gas grill, sink, fridge and space for a private party for 50, however it is usually empty and quiet!

A short drive will take you to Hanalei town or Hanalei Beach Park, an incredible town beach with endless sand, soft waves, wade in swimming and boogie board fun. For the more adventurous, Na Pali Coast hiking, kayaking and Secret Beach are the Ultimate! Secret Beach is a 1/2 mile of ever changing natural sand, waves and cliffs with rarely more than a handful of souls.

A short stroll to the Westin Resort gives you access to the finest luxury spa and dining comforts, without the price of the room. Or maybe just visit for coffee, drinks, excellent whale watching, or the ultimate Bali Hai sunset! Bali Hai is the north shore's canvas for the last sunset in the United States each evening. The mountain's majestic profile is the beginning of the Na Pali cliffs along the north shore of Kauai and provides a romantic backdrop for ocean cruises, helicopter flights, and spectacular hiking adventures. This is the million dollar sunset view just steps from our Mauna Kai condo in Princeville. A stay in our spacious 1500 square foot home is just what you're looking for.

The Princeville Center, 5 blocks away, provides many dining and shopping options, including the local market to stock our fully equipped kitchen. High speed WIFI or plug-in internet service. A HD LCD TV with a DVR and Netflix in the living room and the new second TV in master suite will get you through a rainy day.

Reduced rates are given for bookings that are back to back with other reservations and for those that fill holes between existing bookings. There is no minimum stay for bookings that fill a gap between two other reservations. Call or email me to discuss.

Princeville, on the north shore, is a great base to see everything Kauai has to offer. So come have a wonderful stay in Paradise.

Wow! what a time. This is a Beautiful condo. We have been using VRBO for years all over the world and this was our best vacation yet. The atmosphere is fantastic. The place is very well kept and the kitchen was clean and very functional with everything you need to cook anything you want. It is close to the road but the owner Bruce has thought of everything from full wrap around privacy drapes to Asian sliding panels in the bedroom to bamboo hanging blinds outside around the private hot tub you can have all the privacy you need and then some. It is a great location and anytime you can walk to both the grocery store and the beach (with a small hike) you have nothing to complain about. All the details were presented to us in a timely manner and we did not have to chase the owner for a single thing. As a matter of fact we called the number for the on site handyman with a question and Bruce showed up in person to answer all our needs. Now that is service. There is a reason we chose to return to this Island, because we wanted a stress free vacation, and if that is what you are interested in this is the place for you. We learned something this time with VRBO... it is great to choose a nice rental unit, but it is priceless to have the great service and backup that this owner provided. Thanks again Bruce, we will be returning soon!!!! Aloha

PS if you want to sleep, don't feed the chickens, no matter where you stay, please, don't feed the chickens!

Beautiful condo with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

We loved the condo and would definitely stay here again. The unit is spacious and the Balinese decor is simply gorgeous. Bruce, the owner, has thought of all your needs which makes your stay truly feel like a home away from home. The location is wonderful. Within walking distance is a beach (short hike), a park, a running trail and small shopping center with a grocery store. Thank you Bruce and the beautiful island of Kauai! Until next time . . .

Wonderful ambience and comfort, ideal location

  • 5 of 5

We loved the Mauna Kai condominium, and would happily stay there again. The hot tub and Balinese decor were icing on the cake of a well stocked and well maintained vacation rental in a quiet location within walking distance to a lovely beach. Yet it was only a short drive to excellent restaurants, shopping and all the island's diversions: beaches, fishing, gardens, helicopter rides, hikes, horseback riding and water sports of all kinds. The arrangements were easy to make with the owner, and the manager was available for any questions or concerns. Mahalo!

The home is true to the photos. Gorgeous and spacious, and a place you'll want to stay.

The complex's grounds were incredibly well maintained. People trimming and mowing everyday but not disturbing you. The area around the condo is beautiful, but just know that the backyard is very close to the road. It's not noisy or invasive, but something to be aware of before you show up. It would not stop me from returning, so don't let it deter you.

Go to Kauai. Stay here, have an awesome experience

  • 5 of 5

This unit and stay far exceeded my expectations. The pictures don't even do it justice. It's elegant, well equipped, convenient, comfortable, and just a wonderful experience. The hot tub was a delight every night. The bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchen area all perfectly matched with a lovely decor. Wow is all I can say. I'll stay again!

Some positives, but also some negatives

  • 4 of 5

Very spacious unit that is tucked far in the back of the complex. Not much noise from the side street. Easy access to the path to the Westin. The rooms were nice sized and the living areas spacious as well. The bathrooms were very nice sized and left plenty of room for two people. There is no A/C which was fine, they provided plenty of fans and there are many sliding glass doors to allow plenty of air. Some of the improvements I would recommend would include rewashing or perhaps even tossing most of the towels. Most, if not all, smelled heavily of mold or mildew. As if they had not dried completely and then were left to hang in the humidity which only made it worse. A few of the doors were also very hard to open and/or close. The sliding doors in the main bedroom we could not even move with ease without feeling like we may break them and the glass door there was also unable to open throughout our stay. Electric stove always takes some getting used to but the unit had all the other amenities you need. They do not have recycling on site, so you will have to drive it up the road a ways on your way out. The only other thing I found odd was that the property manager came by at 9:53 AM on the day of check out pounding on the door, I guess expecting we would be immediately on the way out for the 10 AM check out. It made us feel rushed and it wasn't a pleasant way to leave after the week. I thought it might have been nice to wait until after 10 AM when they knew we would for sure be out and then could proceed with the cleaning, etc. I think they have done a nice job with the décor and it does feel like a special place.

Owner's Response: I so wish this guest would have called so I could have had the items fixed. I certainly will do my best to correct all these issues. It would be nice to rebuild all the windows and doors, but some things aren't possible. Most guests are able to operate them just fine. I'll be there next month, can't wait. Aloha Bruce PS, I fixed the stiff door

Kauai Weather

Weather you could be enjoying!

Mon 11/26/2012 at 7 pm it is 74°F , today's high was

H 80 F, and the low was L 66 F

Step off the plane and feel the warm embrace of Kauai with average yearly temperatures ranging between 84 and 69 degrees. Ocean temperatures are also perfect ranging from 71 to 81 degrees year round.

Kauai offers seven distinct microclimates, from lush interior spots to arid areas on the West Side. Mount Waialeale (elevation 5,148 ft) is at the heart of Kauai's uninhabited interior and is a quintessential rainforest with over 400-inches of rain per year. The rain that falls around Mt. Waialeale generally does not affect the coastal parts of the island, which get far less rain than the central spots (as little as 18-inches a year in western areas). Much of Kauai's rainfall is a nightly occurrence, and the rain showers that do occur are almost always brief. When you do see rain, wait for the beautiful rainbows that follow.

The trade winds in Kauai also keep things cool for visitors. The winds are generally light and help chase away much of Hawaii’s humidity. With such great weather, any time of year is a good time to visit Kauai.
