Check out this laid-back Brightwood vacation home near the Salmon River for a friend/family retreat to the woods.
Located just off of Highway 26, and right along the shores of the Salmon River, this home is remote enough to feel secluded, but still close enough to the town of Welches to find much needed supplies and dining options.
European in its style, and rustic in its sensibilities, guests of this cabin will feel instantly at home with exposed beamed ceilings, a wood burning stove, and mis-matched furniture. Pull out a board game, browse WiFi, or flip through the channels on the TV when you need a break from throwing sticks for the dog or skipping rocks with your kids (pets are invited for an additional nightly fee).
Let the natural light stream in while a meal is prepared in the vintage kitchen, and eaten at the dining table inside or on the patio outside. Put the plates in the dishwasher when you're done.
After a busy day, six guests will be able to comfortably sleep in this one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom home. The open sleeping loft has a queen and two twins, perfect for a small family or a group of close friends to share, while the futon downstairs fold out into a bed for a couple. This home also come with a laundry room.
For ski trips to Ski Bowl, hikes of Mt. Hood and around Government Camp, and fishing on the Salmon, book a stay at this charming Brightwood cabin!
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
The cabin was rustic, cute and clean. It has a lot of character. The big draw of this location, though, is the river. It drowns out all noise but its soothing sound. This is a lovely location for a solo retreat or a family gathering. Treat yourself to this beautiful site.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at this cabin and we had a very relaxing week. The cabin was cozy but big enough for our group of 5. The wood burning stove came in handy when the temperature dropped in the evenings. We really have no complaints. It was exactly what we thought it would be and was the perfect getaway!
This cozy cabin was perfect for our group of 5. The wood burning stove came in handy as it got chilly in the evenings when we were there. Plenty of firewood was provided which was wonderful. The cabin itself was very cute and set up very nicely. We had a relaxing and peaceful time there and would return again!
The overall condition of the house was acceptable. Not super comfy if your looking for a place to call home for an extended period of time. It seems best suited as a base camp for a couple, or a few friends.
It is an open air house. Do not expect privacy here. Not a bad thing for some, just thought it worthy of a mention. For a couple looking to coup up for a couple of days, it's perfect. There Is a house very near, nextdoor. This was not really an issue either, just not a secluded property, although once in the home you will feel secluded, do to the roar of the Salmon River at your doorstep, and beautiful view of it. It does drown out most of the highway noise. The only time we were able to hear it was the occasional open exhaust car or bike, or a siren. There is a fully equipped fire station in Welches. This is a plus for those who are acctive, I'd think. ;) Injuries happen.
The twin beds are not suitable for anyone over 40. Sorry, they're just not. Very lumpy and the pillow supplied for each is sliver thin and wore out. Bring your own pillow, at least.
Over all, my wife and I enjoyed the stay hear. It served its purpose for us. The price is fair. If you want more from a cabin, you will have to pay for more. I would call this cabin, a high value cabin. What it may lack in amenities, it makes up in river view and cool breeze from it.
