|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
Located on the western shore of beautiful Seneca Lake about eight miles south of Geneva just off Route 14, Easy Livin’ Cottage at Oak Grove Beach is a perfect place to relax and enjoy family fun. This two-bedroom lakeside cottage offers something to guests of all ages, and its location in the heart of the Finger Lakes makes Easy Livin’ Cottage an ideal destination for a family or two adult couples.
Easy Livin’ Cottage is very comfortable and decorated to reflect the Finger Lakes. It features a fully equipped brand new “L” shaped kitchen that includes an electric stove with oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, dishes, utensils, glassware, and pots and pans. A spacious living-dining room with a working fireplace and 32” LCD television set with Direct-TV and DVD provides warmth and entertainment on chilly evenings. Baseboard heat plus a heater in the bathroom are also available. There is one bathroom with a shower; the water supply is from the city. The master bedroom has a queen bed, and the second bedroom includes a bunk bed with a full mattress on the lower bed and a single on the upper and will sleep three. There is also a queen pullout sofa in the living room. French doors provide open access from the living area to the spacious screened-in porch overlooking the lake and features a picnic table and ample seating. This is a great place to enjoy the exquisite sunrises, the serene moon rises, or to relax, read a book or just daydream and enjoy the lake. The cottage is all on one floor with two steps at the driveway side entrance.
The large rolling lawn borders 135 feet of level natural lake frontage and provides wonderful opportunities for summer fun. You might cook on the charcoal grill, gather everyone around the outside picnic table for a summer barbecue, play a board game or game of cards, but be sure to take time to relax in the comfort of the Adirondack chairs on the lawn as you watch the wildlife and waves on the lake.
Eight stairs bring you to a level beach. The lakefront is all natural and the water depth is gradual, about three feet at the end of the dock and “dotted” with a few large rocks, making this a perfect spot to swim, wade and play in the water. The dock is great for relaxing and sunbathing. In the evening the fire pit is available for a campfire, toasting marshmallows and making s'mores. You can watch the moon rise across the lake, enjoy the serenity of the moonlight dancing on the lake, find the patterns in the stars, or simply listen to the water lapping on the shore. All this will make for Easy Livin’ during your stay at the cottage at Oak Grove Beach. Railroad Tracks run 100 feet behind the house with a short train about twice a day.
Our family has always enjoyed summers on Seneca Lake. We live in Geneva and find that the short ten minute drive to the cottage changes our lives and the way we look at the world. While our family now lives out of the area, they are drawn back to the lake each summer.
As we share this beautiful peaceful spot on Seneca Lake, we hope that you will find the same for your family as you take time to work, play and relax together. Plan to make memories and take home many marvelous stories to share about your time at Easy Livin' Cottage on Seneca Lake.

We enjoyed the lovely location of Oak Grove Cottage and Becky was really sweet (even fresh flowers in the house when we arrived!). The screened in porch, the fire pit area, and the outdoor picnic table on the side were all perfect places to hang out and enjoy the beautiful lake view. The Finger Lakes is such a great location for day trips, too: Keuka Lake trail, Watkins Glen, wineries... Very relaxing!
Bottom line: Most relaxing vacation we've had in a long time. The initial impression when you walk in, it's better than the photos. The cottage has very comfortable seating inside, but our favorite place was the screened-in porch. There are lots of options in the area for adventures - hiking, cycling (it can get hilly)(the bike shop in Geneva is helpful), wineries, etc., but we were sometimes torn between wanting to go out and do things, or just stay on the porch or down by the water to read and relax. Luckily we had one rainy day for that. What I didn't expect, since the cottage is on the west side of the lake, were the spectacular sunsets, with the sun setting behind us and hitting the clouds in the east. Another big plus: it was easy to cook - the kitchen has good pots and pans, etc., and there are good grocery stores and local produce options nearby. There is some road noise from Rt. 14, as it is pretty close, but it's quiet at night, and the lake, because it's so big, is really quiet. As for the train, the first time I heard it at night, I thought I was being transported in the Polar Express! We loved to hear the train! One suggestion: if you're just a couple, like us, don't forget to take twin bed sheets so that you have the option of sleeping on the porch. We've stayed in many vacation rentals over the years, and this was unusual in that: there was good light for reading; comfortable chairs and sofa for reading/watching tv; good equipment in the kitchen; lots of table space for eating; easy access to the water (no long, steep flight of stairs!). Becky and Don are gracious hosts who truly want you to be comfortable, and we definitely were.
This was our second vacation staying at Easy Living cottage with our 2 girls and we had another wonderful week. The cottage, both inside and out is perfect for a relaxing and fun week on Seneca Lake! What a warm welcome we received with fresh cut flowers. The cottage is very clean and comfortable with bunk beds in one of the bedrooms which was super fun for our kids. The bottom bunk is a double, which also makes it useable for adults. The air conditioning keeps the inside very comfortable on the hot sticky days, and there is also a heating unit in case you come across a chilly morning or evening. We were able to cook or bake whatever we wanted as the kitchen was well stocked with knives, pots, pans, baking sheets, cutting boards...etc. The screened in porch overlooking the lake was our favorite room. There is a large picnic table so that you can enjoy your meals while watching boaters or water skiiers go by, or enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake on the lounge chairs. Outside, the property is gorgeous and fantastic for children. There is a large grassy yard for playing or kicking around a ball, as well as a charcoal grill, fire pit, and plenty of seating to enjoy outside time! This property has a large lakefront space, so it is perfect for wading in, swimming, floating on tubes, or looking for special rocks and crawfish. The location of the cottage is also very convenient to the adorable town of Geneva, grocery stores, pharmacies, and restaurants. Definitely check out some of the excellent wineries and breweries during your stay! Thanks so much Becky and Don for renting out your beautiful cottage and property and allowing others to enjoy the amazing Seneca Lake and all that the area has to offer. The cottage met all of our needs once again!!
We spend our second year at Easy Living for our weeks vacation. It did not disappoint in any way. Just WONDERFUL!!!. The cottage was spotless, so cozy and anything that you could need, Becky and Don have thought of. We spent most of our week relaxing on the beautiful screened porch, enjoying the lake, watching the ducks, loons, geese etc and enjoying our meals there also. The big flat yard is wonderful for the kids and the shallow entry to the lake for the kids. The bonfire is all set up for roasting marshmellows and the unique passing of the train in the backyard is so fun. It is so peaceful and relaxing there, you could not ask for anything more. Absolutely love it. Thank you Becky and Don for another wonderful vacation at the lake. We look forward to returning again next year.
My family, including our two kids, spent the week of the 4th of July at the cottage. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the house. The cottage is adorable and the location is beautiful. Sitting on the screened in porch watching the sun rise over the lake is the definition of relaxing. The cottage came with everything we needed to make meals for the family, including charcoal for a cookout! It turned out to be a hot week and we used the air conditioner each night to cool the place off, which was a nice plus. Highly recommended.
We really, really enjoyed our stay right on Seneca Lake at Easy Livin' Cottage. The practically flat yard was perfect for our dogs and easy access to the beach. The cottage is comfortable and clean and stocks just about anything you need while there. We got special permission to bring along our two adult dogs (105 lb Labrador and a 60 lb coonhound mix) and we were very respectful of any noise they might create, dog hair and yard clean up. There are cleaning items and a vacuum handy. Our dogs loved hanging out on the screened porch as much as we did - it's a PERFECT place to enjoy the breeze and stunning lake views. The neighbors to one side are quite close, but due to the size of the lot and a fair amount of trees, the cottage is very private. The train tracks are pretty close but the berm of the tracks actually makes kind of a nice barrier to RT. 14. The train came by a few time and the first was a bit alarming but after that not a big deal at all, in fact we looked forward to its quaintness.
So, we rented a tandem kayak from Roy's and they happily delivered to our beach while we were out exploring. Sooooooo enjoyable and I used it daily (with my Labrador!)
As for proximity, we were interested in hiking and found plenty of options near and far. We also enjoyed many of the area wineries ( they are all dog friendly and welcomed our pups,) as well as several brew pubs. Just about a 10 minute drive north, the very quaint Geneva has some great restaurant options, a Wegman's and some cute shops. Penn Yann is also close by and also charming (excellent frozen custard at Seneca Farms!) The scenery is breathtaking no matter where you look since the lakes are not all that distant from each other. We enjoyed trips to Ithaca, Aurora, Naples, And Phelps as well as the drives along several of the area lakes. This was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacations we've had in a long time. There was just enough to do in the Fongerlakes without feeling like we had to go touring. Just hanging out at Easy Livin' Cottage was plenty... I wish we had booked two weeks!!
