Seven Harvest Way is a modern five bedroom, detached family house in Witney, Oxfordshire. The house is set over three floors and can sleep up to 13 people in five double bedrooms. There is a family bathroom, two shower rooms and a cloakroom. It has all the mod cons to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. There is off-street parking for one car, and also unrestricted on-street parking. The house is on the outskirts of Witney, just 15 minutes walk or a quick drive from the market town centre, where free parking is available for shoppers.
On the edge of the Cotswolds, Witney is a bustling market town on the River Windrush, 12 miles west of Oxford. The town has been famous for its woollen blankets since the Middle Ages, and is now a thriving town with many independent and specialist shops, several supermarkets and household name stores. A new shopping centre with multiplex cinema has recently opened. The Market Square hosts a traditional market every Thursday and Saturday and a Farmer's Market on the third Wednesday of every month. When it comes to eating and drinking, Witney has plenty to offer with more than 40 venues to choose from.
Both Oxford and Cheltenham are easily accessed via the A40. We will leave information about how to use the Park and Ride, or the excellent bus service from Witney to Oxford, and what's on in the city at the time of your stay. Woodstock, with the famous Blenheim Palace, is nearby, as is Bampton, the village where the popular period drama Downton Abbey is filmed.
I have lived in Oxfordshire for 36 years and love it because it's so central
Caroline purchased this house in 2006
7 Harvest Way used to be my family home until my sons grew up and I moved into a smaller property. I love Witney and Oxford - both full of history and surrounded by beautiful countryside.
The house is attractive and comfortable, with modern amenities. There is a large kitchen dining area, a comfortable living room and conservatory, and a secluded garden, as well as off-street parking. The bedrooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are modern.
We were four women, and to each have our own room contributed mightily to the pleasure of our trip! Our host was prompt in responding to requests and gave good suggestions and advice.
Ideally located for touring the Cotswolds, and visits to London, Oxford, Bath, Stratford-on-Avon, and other attractions.
This is a very comfortable home with everything you need. There's a lovely garden with a table and chairs for al fresco dining.
You will have access to the entire house, which has 5 bedrooms.
I'll greet you (or a friend might if I'm away) and I'm very happy to help you with information and advice - you can call me if you have a question or problem.
I love Witney! That's why I live here.... the facilities are great, lots of eateries, and lots to do in the surrounding area.
Witney is a small country town steeped in history, but with good modern amenities and a bustling community life. There are fine buildings surrounding the ancient Buttercross in Market Square and a twice weekly market. Countryside is all around and the river Windrush flows through the town providing bankside walks. The Woolgate centre and other smaller shops have been supplemented by a new central shopping precinct with major names such as Marks & Spencer, Debenhams and in addition a multi-screen cinema. Public transport is available to and from outlying villages and from Witney to Oxford and on to London. Woodstock 10 miles, Oxford 13 miles, Burford 7 miles and London 68 miles.
I would suggest a car for getting around but Witney is a great place to stay if you need to use a bus. You can bus to Woodstock and see Blenheim Palace, the beautiful town of Burford, Cheltenham for the races and some great shopping.
The bus to Oxford goes from about 50 meters from the house, and the bus from London is about 50 meters from where the Witney bus stops in Oxford. Both run frequently and it's £18 for a day/next day return adult ticket. It takes about 3 hours each way though but if you have the stamina you can be in London by 11 am and leave 7pm and be in bed by 10pm! That's plenty of time to do quite a lot in the capital.
