You know you've left the city behind when you stay in this cozy mountain cabin next to a mountain stream. Foss River Lodge is surrounded by lush forest and the soothing sound of the river is everywhere. This is a very private cabin off the beaten path, yet close to Stevens Pass, Skykomish and Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area hiking trails.
This is a great apres ski cabin 20 minutes from Stevens Pass with a real wood burning fireplace, private 7-person hot tub, and northwoods cabin decor. It also has many amenities to make your stay comfortable including washer/dryer, well equipped full kitchen, down comforters, and quality linens. This cabin can have snow Dec-March, and is close to an area popular for winter sports. The roads are usually cleared to the cabin but AWD, 4WD or chains are needed at times.
Foss River Lodge is available year-round for your romantic, recreation, or relaxation getaway. It is a popular summer retreat. This cabin books early, especially during ski season and summer, due to the large number of repeat guests.

This was our romantic Christmas getaway this year and it was a lovely time. We wandered through the mountain towns and learned a lot of history pertaining to the U.S. Highway 2 and the railroad. We ate German food in Leavenworth and watched trains go by in Skykomish. Today we'll take off through Wenatchee and head home via Snoqualmie Pass. We're sad to be leaving but sure to be back some day soon.
We rented just the main cabin. It's perfect for a family and even has games and toys for the little ones. House is clean and beautifully situated right on the Foss river... the only sounds you hear are the water and occasional rumble of the trains. All the little thoughtful "extras" just made our trip that much more special so thank you. We spent one day out on the trails and another sledding at Stevens Pass with lunch in Leavenworth. Thank you so very much... Sarah, Chris and Baby Nathan!
Wonderful little cozy cabin in the woods! Exactly what we needed for a quiet weekend by the river. Lots of thoughtful little touches.
Our small family of adults and grown kids stayed at Lisa's cabin this summer. The cabin is right on the river surrounded by trees. On the other side of the river a train runs by often. It was comfortable and well stocked with games, blankets and kitchen supplies. As with pretty much every place I've ever rented, it's a good idea to bring your own knives if you like to cook. We had only two minor complaints. Apparently, whoever rented the place before we did used the coffee grinder for other purposes, so that first pot of coffee was pretty weird. After a good cleaning all was well. The hot tub was not clean. Not at all. The floating cleaning device was empty (no cartridge), the water was musty and pretty scummy. That was a disappointment but something that could easily be fixed. Other than that, the cabin is a great jumping off location for fantastic hiking. We went on two long hikes during our stay. The trailheads were less than 5 miles away. There are probably scores of trailheads nearby. Our trip was in summer, but skiers would also find this a great place as Stevens Pass is quite nearby. There were also really nice touches of generosity. Despite instructions otherwise, there were plenty of towels. There was also a supply of mini-cereal boxes and granola bars. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
Such an idyllic, beautiful setting and cabin. The river is right out the back door, constant, soothing presence during your stay. The cottage itself is absolutely adorable and in lovely condition. The dinning room looks right out on the river. The deck with the hot tub is actually kind of spectacular. Lisa is so accommodating and responsive. We all felt like our weekend had been really special Langley because of this special home away from home.
Wow, talk about ON the river! I am so pleased I was able to rent this cottage at the last minute when my planned camping trip was going to be rained out. I was really impressed with this cottage's secluded location, proximity to the river, and the outdoor deck. The property description is right; the sound of the river is everywhere! Note, I rented the cottage only, not the annex. Pay attention to the captions on the pictures since some are of the cottage and some are of the annex.
The cottage is surrounded by forest and although there are neighboring houses on either side, it is very private. There is a fire pit and horseshoe pit in the front side yard, but we spent all of our time in the back of the house by the river. There is a small back yard which is mostly taken up by the large deck and then just down the hill is the river. Take the path down the hill and you're at the river's edge. The covered outdoor deck is very spacious with a large hot tub, grill, and table to seat 8. Great for hanging out even in the rain! There was a good number of mosquitoes out when I was there, so I appreciated the large stock of bug spray in the cabinet. There are train tracks just on the other side of the river and we had fun trying to spy the trains through the trees (hint: look up!). The train noise did not bother us, although something to be aware of. (I recommend driving a little farther down the road to take in views of the bridge where the train crosses the river; pretty cool!)
The inside of the cottage is appropriately rustic. The kitchen, although old, is plenty roomy and well stocked. The living room has a large stone fireplace (bring plenty of wood!). The dinning room is the closest part of the cottage to the river and has a lovely view. The 2 bedrooms are located upstairs (note, the 1 bathroom is located downstairs). The information I received from the owner indicated that the water has a high iron content, but it tasted just fine to me (I brought plenty of bottled too just in case).
Overall, I highly recommend a stay at the Foss River cottage and will definitely be back myself!
The cottage is great. It is quite secluded with a wonderful deck in the back, where we spent most of the time. It is not luxurious compared to some others but had absolutely everything we needed. It was also very well stocked and we were even left a pack of coffee by the owner. We had brought our own but we thought it was very nice of them. We did end up using some of the coal and bug spray that we found, since we forgot to buy those.
