You know you've left the city behind when you stay in this cozy mountain cabin next to a mountain stream. Foss River Lodge is surrounded by lush forest and the soothing sound of the river is everywhere. This is a very private cabin off the beaten path, yet close to Stevens Pass, Skykomish and Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area hiking trails.
This is a great apres ski cabin 20 minutes from Stevens Pass with a real wood burning fireplace, private 7-person hot tub, and northwoods cabin decor. It also has many amenities to make your stay comfortable including washer/dryer, well equipped full kitchen, down comforters, and quality linens. This cabin can have snow Dec-March, and is close to an area popular for winter sports. The roads are usually cleared to the cabin but AWD, 4WD or chains are needed at times.
Foss River Lodge is available year-round for your romantic, recreation, or relaxation getaway. It is a popular summer retreat. This cabin books early, especially during ski season and summer, due to the large number of repeat guests.
PLEASE NOTE TWO RENTAL OPTIONS: COTTAGE or LODGE.
COTTAGE is the cozy, original cabin with mud porch entry, living room with wood burning fireplace, dining nook overlooking the river, full kitchen, one full bath, two bedrooms upstairs-one with a queen bed and the second with a queen and a twin bed. Sleeps 4-5.
LODGE includes all the above, plus an annex with an additional living room, kitchen, 1-1/2 baths, queen bedroom and king bedroom. Sleeps 10.
Both the COTTAGE and the LODGE include a deck with hot tub overlooking the river.
We never rent the COTTAGE and the LODGE independently, so whichever you decide to rent, you will be the only guests on the property.

Very cute cabin in an amazing location. Listen and watch the river from the dining room, enjoy the forest setting and take it all in by the fireplace on in the hot tub. Great hiking around and very close to the slopes. We were very pleased.
Loved the place!
Do your “homework” ...
If you have been spoiled by a modern new house and all the modern creature comforts OR if you are not adventurous enough to get a feel of what is like to live in the 70’s~80’s, you are probably not going to like this cottage (like my husband).
The biggest problem is the heating system’s set up. Even though the gas fireplace/heater is on downstairs, it is behind a wall in the dining room so the living room area stays very cold (with wood burning in the wood fire place too).
Because of the location of the fireplace/gas heater, all the heat went nowhere except straight to the upstairs bedroom. It got very hot up there, even when we set the temperature to 68’ before bedtime. We ended up sleeping with the window opened a few inches on the 2nd night.
However, I enjoyed the quietness and the surrounding nature very much! And I appreciated the thoughtfulness of the many little things (grounded coffee, variety of tea bags and cooking spices, chocolate, etc). It’s an experience!
I had set my expectations low before arriving, so I was not as surprised as my husband was.
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the quietness and nature surrounding the cottage, as well as the complimentary extra touches provided for our guests.
I apologize that your husband's expectations with respect to temperature control were not met. As first time guests in any accommodation, I understand that it can be challenging to get the temperature just right.
You are absolutely correct in stating that the cottage is not a modern new house, and we try to represent it accurately through the photos and descriptions.
We have many repeat guests who tell us that they welcome the opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. They appreciate the cottage's simple pleasures such as its homey comfort, the wood burning fireplace and the sound of the rushing mountain river outside.
Thank you for your feedback,
Place was cozy and peaceful in the woods
We loved our stay , very kid family friendly . Books , games , breakfast cereals and family child friendly movies . If your looking for a place to go with your kids this is the place.
The ONLY down side was that it wasn’t fully cleaned out from the people before us, yikes . But other then that it was fabulous . We will deffenetly lovevto come again next year . Our kids already looking forward to it.
I'm glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay at the Cottage and appreciated the extra touches we provide for our guests. We apologize for the oversight in not having everything fully prepared for your arrival. We'll strive to do better next time and look forward to welcoming you back.
Perfect place to get away
The sound of the river while sleeping, the well maintenance hot tub, the cozy fireplace and the little things like s’mores necessities laid out by the host all contributed to our wonderful, relaxing weekend! We will be back!
First time renting a private dwelling, and am sold. This was the best weekend we have had in years. Extremely clean, quiet, and secluded.
