About Property Manager/Owner
We purchased our first home on the Lake three years ago and love it. We wanted to share the lake life with travelers, and so we purchased this property for vacation rental in June 2017. We think you will love staying at The Lookout on the Lake.
Property Manager/Owner purchased this House in 2017
Why Property Manager/Owner chose Creal Springs

Outlook with family
Nice lake to get away from the daily grind, rented. Pontoon bot from Mack’s and the dock at the house made it easy to park the boat and enjoy the weekend, kitchen was nice had enough counter space to do all the cooking for the family, had a great 50yrs anniversary weekend Thank you!
Papa Joe's 100th Birthday
The house is great for entertaining. There was lots of space. The dock was great. It was easy for our relatives to find. The owner was easy to work with, and the property was well-maintained.
Great Stay in Underappreciated Area
The house fit our group of ten perfectly and was very clean and well stocked. The exact location of the house isn't great: not really a place for swimming, although the kayaks and tubes got quite a bit of use; and there's not much in the immediate area, but we knew that going in. However, southern Illinois is overlooked as a tourist destination and the house is situated in the middle of Shawnee National Forest, between Garden of the Gods and Little Grand Canyon (with Inspiration Point also nearby), each about an hour drive away. The views and hikes were incredible and just strenuous enough to make it feel earned. Also nearby is Shawnee Zip, which was expensive but will be remembered forever. We all had a great stay here. The owner also was very accommodating.
Awesome place on the Lake
Very nice home and the owner was real nice and always wanting to help if we needed anything. The house was nicely stocked with kitchen appliances, utensils etc.. plenty of towels and extra blankets and pillows...we enjoyed our family reunion..thanks again Jennifer it was a great time..Becky from Boise Idaho
Great for Girls' Weekend!
We stayed here for our annual girls' weekend trip. It was our second time at Lake of Egypt Check-in process and communication with Jennifer was excellent. The house was a perfect size for our group of six and was located close to Mack's Marina; we rented a boat and it was quite convenient. Lots of windows and natural light upstairs and sliding glass door access to back patio in each downstairs bedroom was great and convenient.
Bedding and towels provided were clean and in good shape. No towels for outside use are available, so each of us had to bring our own beach towels...which take up some space in the suitcase when you are trying to pack light. It would be great to have those to offer to renters, as well.
We are a group of women who like to cook and the size of the kitchen was perfect. Appliances, large and small were in good shape and no problems. However, we found the kitchen a bit lacking as it relates to cutting boards (only one), cutlery (needed to wash after each use to be sure we had enough clean for next meal), skillets/pans. Kitchen would probably benefit from some updated glassware and coffee mugs. Overall, however, it was a perfectly fine kitchen space. The large dining room table and benches were great!
The house does not have wifi, which is a bit of a drag. Use of personal hotspots is fine only if you have unlimited data to share with others. The lack of wifi was challenging for a couple of us who needed to do some work. We would definitely recommend getting wifi for your renters' use.
Overall, though, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider this house again if we return to Lake of Egypt.
Beautiful View of the Lake
Beautiful View and Home. Had a few housekeeping issues upon arrival, but Owner was very easy to communicate with and any issues we had she quickly addressed. Highly recommend.
