A newly-built guesthouse with the feel of the Old West.
We are located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but in reality being just minutes from downtown, this studio guesthouse gives you the best of both worlds.
Sit out on the large covered porch and enjoy watching the quail and other wildlife, or visit with our own assortment of livestock. We are pet-friendly, and can even board horses for a small fee.
After you have enjoyed your day, relax around a fire in the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites. If you feel like cooking outside, there is a gas grill available, or you can BBQ over the fire in the fire pit.
Inside the guesthouse, you will experience the warmth of rustic and the comfort of modern from the custom-built cedar furniture and cabinetry to the knotty-pine vaulted ceiling, along with the wall of windows opening onto a fantastic view of Alpine against the mountains. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, cook-top, and pantry. It is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, automatic coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking utensils.
The queen-size custom-built bed has plenty of storage space under it in case you want to stay awhile.
The television is a 32-inch flat screen with satellite service and a DVD player.
The guesthouse is climate-controlled with a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.
The modern, spacious bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, and a vanity with plenty of counter space. There is also a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.
Come stay outside the box, and experience the true West Texas.
We were visiting my in-laws in Alpine, Texas and decided to give this place a shot. From the beginning the process was flawless. From the booking and response and information that Lisa gave us on how to access the property was so easy.
When we arrived the outside was clean and the property was nicely manicured. The view was breath taken we stayed outside to take it all in. The House is on the property were Lisa and Steve live but they are very respectable of your space. We did have the opportunity to meet them both and what a wonderful couple. We talked like we were old friends and it was a delight.
The House that we stayed was very clean and nicely decorated it had a great vibe to it and we felt comfortable right when we walked in. The temperature was perfect!
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and big. The Stove works great and the TV was very clear and perfect size. The View from our window was awesome, Mountains and the West, Texas sky.
They also have a bbq pit out back on the porch. I love to bbq so the first night there I did and we enjoyed the west Texas sunset and took it all in around the fire pit that is right off the porch . I could sit on that porch forever!
Even though when you are there you feel so far away but really you are very close to grocery stores, gas stations and downtown Alpine. That’s a great thing to accomplish to feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere but still have access to essentials.
All in all can’t wait to get back to Alpine to stay here again. So if you have the chance to visit Alpine or passing through this is a Great place to stay!
I assure you that Lisa and Steve will make your getaway perfect!
Till next time,
Joseph Calvo – Austin, Texas
Our stay was short but my husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. We wish we could of stayed longer but we only stopped for the night to rest during a recent road trip. Owners are friendly and helpful. Very nice accommodations and perfect distance to nearby restaurants and shops.
What a beautiful property with amazing views and awesome owners.
We loved our stay. The owners are friendly and add little touches that are great. We had fresh farm eggs and a great bottle of wine. Room is comfortable and nicely decorated. Very clean. Loved the farm animals. Thor the mighty horse is so sweet. Their dog and cat are very friendly. The views are beyond amazing and you are close to Marfa, Fort Davis and Big Bend.
They were building a larger additional rental next door which will accommodate a larger family. Nice hot tub and firepit for your use. We were so busy we did not get to use. Lots of privacy even with owner on the property. We will diffently be back. :)
This was our first visit to the area. We hope to return again to enjoy more of the wonderful views and experiences.
I guess I should start with the negatives first. The room was a bit smaller than we had hoped for. But was nice and clean. Though the hot tub was available we never made time to enjoy it. But next trip we will
Now for the positives. The views are fantastic. Sitting and watching the chickens and goats play was so relaxing. We enjoyed evey minute of our time in Alpine. I hope we are able to return some day, and when we do we will hope to stay with Lisa and Steve again. But next trip will be longer. And maybe they will have the new cottage ready by then.
I can not say enough good things about our host. They are great people, so nice. Steve I wish I could have helped you with your tile, But Mona said no I was on vacation. I was surprised Mona enjoyed the animals so much. Sitting outside in the evening watching them play, mountain views in the background, cool evening breeze made leaving for home a difficult thing. And Lisa thank you for the warm evening fire. Oh and before I forget, the fresh eggs were such a great special treat. So many small things Lisa did added up to a wonderful weekend.
Alpine is a vey nice small town, It has all the things needed for a vacation. a few nice places to eat, shops and a small farmers market. and of course Sonic,, The grocery store was a welcome site as we had not brought our usualy cooler full of provisions.
Thank you once again for having us.
Ron and Mona
Mona says we should not recommend this to our friends as she wants to save it all for us. But truthfuly this is one of the most relaxing places we have stayed. The weekend went way to fast. Our next stay will be for a week.
My wife and I fell in love with this property right away! This home, with incredible views of the mountains and the countless stars easily visible in the awe-inspiring night sky, is amazing. The owners really go out of their way to make your stay memorable! They left us farm fresh eggs from their very own hens for breakfast and a bottle of wine as well! Their animals, which include goats, hens, horses and a pup only add to the "Dorothy, we aren't in Kansas anymore" vibe that made our vacation an absolute GETAWAY! We can't recommend this place enough. Thank you Brody family!
Steve and Lisa have made this city girl love the country. The horse, the chickens, the goats, the cat and the dog made up a menagerie of entertainment. For those of you looking at the pictures, it is EXACTLY as it is shown. They maintain the property with extreme attention to detail, so you never really "need" anything. The queen size bed was comfortable, the kitchen fully stocked (and even included fresh eggs from the chickens), and it was country quiet. The hosts are in the right business - extremely friendly and accommodating to me and my 2 little dogs. They make you feel like friends, not just guests.
The property is centrally located so it is easy access to Ft. Davis, Marfa and Alpine. The Alpine grocery store is not even 10 minutes away and you are in the country! Day trips to Marfa, Ft. Davis are easy from here. Marfa offers visitors a unique experience of art meets hipster meets old west small town. Ft. Davis is a sleepy little town that lies at the foot of the mountains. Great scenic road trips up to the observatory and over to Kent are worthwhile along with the visiting and hiking the restored Fort. If you have a bike, bring it. The roads around Marfa, Ft. Davis and Alpine just begged to be ridden.
If you stay here (and you should) bring apples for Thor, the horse. He just loves them!
Located on the Fort Davis Hwy., we are just minutes away from downtown Alpine, Sul Ross University, restaurants, and shopping, including boutique art galleries and gift shops. Alpine is the gateway to Big Bend National Park, along with historic mining towns such as Terlingua(famous for its annual Chili Cookoff) and the bordertown of Lajitas with its championship golf course. To the west of Alpine is Marfa, filled with many historic buildings and a growing art community. In between Alpine and Marfa is the famous Marfa Lights visitors' center. North on the Fort Davis Hwy., along the Texas Mountain Trail, is the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, which features native plants of the Chihuahuan Desert located in a gorgeous canyon setting. Further down the road is the historic town of Fort Davis, just 20 minutes from us. While there, you can explore the actual Fort Davis, which is a National Historic Site. Fort Davis is filled with charming shops and restaurants that add to its Western flair. A little further up the road is the McDonald Observatory, where you can attend their famous Star Parties, or just take a tour. The Fort Davis Highway is used by both bicyclists and motorcyclists as a year-round scenic ride. There are so many activities to enjoy in this area, and we are located right in the heart of it all.
