About Kim and Jason Menefee and Matthew Simon

I fell in love with Eleuthera the very first time I drove through the Island. I was looking for a place that was not commercialized. A place that can bring you back to a simpler time. I was not sure such a placed still existed. Well, fortunately there is! I hope you will enjoy Seven Palms.

Best wishes,

Why Kim and Jason Menefee and Matthew Simon chose Governor's Harbour, The Bahamas

Seven Palms is uniquely located near Governor's Harbour and restaurants but far enough away to ensure the privacy and nature most people seek when visiting Eleuthera. Not many properties offer you 24 acres of silver palm trees that sway beautifully with the ocean trade winds with a pink sand beach for your private enjoyment! Come pamper yourself in the luxury our property has to offer!

What makes this house unique

Seven Palms is situated on 24 acres, with 1,200 feet of beach frontage. The beach here is one of the most spectacular beaches on the island. The breeze coming off the ocean is wonderful and un-comparable to other travel destinations. There are very few places left in the world where you can be on your own private beach and not see any other person. Come see why we believe this will soon become your favorite spot to be!

Guestbook comments from the manager

If you're looking for privacy, natural beauty, lots of space, open and airy accommodations, peace and quiet, yet still be within easy driving distance to fun activities and great restaurants - then look no further. Seven Palms has all of this and more. The house is large and sprawling. There is a main, common room in the center with a large powder room, galley kitchen, living/dining area that opens up to a huge veranda overlooking the Atlantic ocean. You can hear the surf from every room. The six bedrooms extend off two arms from the common area, 3 on one side, 3 on the other. Each bedroom has its own full bath, and everyone agreed the beds were incredibly comfortable. The house and grounds are clean and well-maintained. At this writing, the house does appear to be undergoing a few minor renovations (i.e. doors and trim throughout are all primed and ready for paint), but this did not detract from any of the comforts the estate has to offer. The beach there was long, private, simply fantastic. The agent through which we rented was amazing: attentive, responsive, friendly, courteous, helpful, and very professional. He responded immediately to every question, large or small, during our rental process and always made us feel important and respected. Our property manager at the house was just as wonderful: attentive to our every need, always available, friendly, good-humored, and accommodating. She really made us feel welcome and at home! The housekeeper and her staff were likewise accommodating - adjusting their schedules to fit ours. The grounds keepers were unobtrusive and friendly. one of them even climbed a coconut tree for us one day (barefoot!) and with machete in hand, hacked off several coconuts for us. He chopped them open and we enjoyed fresh coconut milk right there! The Pina Coladas were never fresher than they were that day. Lanny's restaurant for take away food was terrific - they cooked for 11 of us even through a brief power outage! Tippy's is famous and did not disappoint. We also bought fresh grouper right off the boat in Gov's. Harbor and grilled it on the wood-fired grill that was ready for us every evening. I wouldn't hesitate to return here and highly recommend it to anyone looking to get away from the "madding crowds."

Seven Palms, Eleuthera

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we drove up the Palm Tree lined road, we knew our visit was going to be incredible. My parents bought property on this island 50 years ago and have wanted to show us the property for years. We all decided to book a trip and began looking for a space large enough for 14 people. We opened the door to Seven Palms and immediately saw the turquoise blue water of the Atlantic. The 28+ acres were filled with palm trees blowing in the wind and we couldn't wait to get out to the beach, but first, we unpacked and headed to Tippy's for dinner and the sunset. This is the place to be for live music and fresh seafood on a Saturday night. Sunday was a day on our own private beach with miles of PINK sand and cloudless skies. Dinner Sunday night was at the beautiful 1648 with another picturesque sunset. Tuesday night we were treated to a wonderful Chef prepared dinner of Mahi Mahi and fresh veggies with local cheese cake.

After a tour up the North end and Harbour Island, we planted ourselves on our private beach and watch all the cousins enjoying their time together.

Seven Palms is a MUST for any family visiting Eleuthera!! Sharon French, the manager is the best and was so accommodating as well as George Major, our "go to" for cars and vans and especially Henrietta for keeping our house and linens clean each day. We miss her already as well as the views and the beach. I hope this review was helpful! I hope to be back some day.

A vacation to remember!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful first trip to the island!! The beach was absolutely amazing and we can't wait to visit again!! It took us a day or so to adjust to not having the amenities we are used to in the U.S. But We adjusted and it all worked out fine. The house was good and they accommodated us with things we needed and were unable to bring with us! We had the opportunity to try some local pineapple and fresh coconut and both were delicious!! The owner, Tom, stopped by to check in on us and gave us some great recommendations for restaurants!! We enjoyed Tippy's although 1648 was our favorite! We were sad to leave the postcard views but know we will be back one day!

Incredible Week at Seven Palms!

  • 5 of 5

Our week at Seven Palms really couldn't have been more perfect!!! This is a beautiful property with unbelievable views of the ocean, quiet and peaceful but in a great location for exploring all there is to see.

There were nine of us in our party and the way the house is set up with three bedrooms at each end ALL with private bathrooms, there was plenty of room for spreading out and privacy but with a beautiful great room for hanging out, playing music, games and eating together. The indoor table is large enough and the outdoor table as well for holding a big group with plenty of chairs and room for a big meal together. There are lots of lounge chairs and enough for all of us to be out by the ocean, up on the patio or out of the shade. We loved being on the ocean side with lots of breeze to keep the temperature comfortable at night. We never needed to use the fans or AC as the ocean breezes were perfect. The wind blew the entire time we were there so our snorkeling on the ocean side was limited but we were able to find calm water on the west side of the island only moments away by car.

We had several runners in our group and there were some great roads and loops for morning runs. The Leon Levy Preserve was amazing and most of us took advantage of the opportunity to learn about plant life in the Bahamas. We had dinner one night at Tippy's which is right down the street and for a big group, we had lots of space and convenience. We also went to the local Governor's Harbor Fish Fry on Friday night and even had one of the kids win the limbo contest! It never felt too touristy and we were happy for that.

Sharon did a great job arranging cars, giving us advice on where to snorkel on windy days and even found someone to bring us local stone crab and fresh grouper for dinner! She did a great job communicating with us before and during our trip and we was extremely responsive to our needs and questions.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this property- from the setting to the amenities to the location to the service. This is a place that lives up to its description and then some. We can't thank Tom and Sharon and Henrietta and George enough for the hospitality. We all wanted to stay another week!!!

The estate was absolutely wonderful; from the houses, to the grounds and the wonderful view of the beach. This slice of paradise, which sits just south of Governor's Harbor, is kept by Sharon French. Simply put, she made us feel right at home. Also, she had all sorts of great advice on how to enjoy the island, it's people and the water.

Right out front of the private beach(powder sugar), we free dove in and out of the reefs and discovered wonderful marine life; fish, conch and "bugs"( lobsters). If the 'kick back and do nothing" routine is what you are looking for, it's your place. If you are and adventure seeker, again this is your place. you can do it all at Seven Palms. I'm ready to go back!

A piece of paradise!

  • 5 of 5

This was the 4th trip to Eleuthera for me and my husband. We have stayed somewhere different each stay. Seven Palms was by far my favorite!!! We took my 2 children and another family of 4. The children ranged from ages 7-17. This was the perfect place for us. The huge backyard, the clean and spacious house, and the beautiful view satisfied everyone. Ms. Henrietta was amazing!! She was super sweet, greeting us each morning, washing dishes, washing our clothes, and keeping the house tidy. Wish I could have taken her Sharon was extremely helpful. The house was stocked with our requested groceries at arrival and was full of suggestions for sightseeing and snorkeling. We spent our time relaxing on the property, exploring the island, snorkeling, trying out the delicious food, and visiting with the locals. We rented a car from Stanton Cooper which has always given great service. We were sad to leave! Until next time....

Dotted along Eleuthera's only main road are picturesque settlements, each with their own charm. Visit the world famous Ocean Hole, explore cave systems, historic churches and homes.
