This large New England home has been completely updated to provide the most luxurious hospitality. Nestled over 200 acres of field and forest, the snowmobile and x-country ski enthusiasts can stay close to home and enjoy the rolling hills surrounding the property. Or on a warm summer day the kids can swim in the pond while you sip a drink and watch from the enormous deck. If you came for adventure you will not find a more central location to ski areas, lakes, cultural events, campus events, restaurants, and a myriad of local sites and activities. If you came to the area just to relax you'll find this house very comfortable with gas fireplace in the main room. Four bedrooms plus a dormitory including a master suite will give everyone their own space and television to enjoy some quiet time. A king, queen and two twin size beds furnish these rooms, but there are also two fold out beds in case your child insisted their friend come along. The master suite includes a private door to the deck, as well as an enormous bathroom which includes his and her sinks and tiled shower. The living room is where the house comes to life with a giant chimney and leather furniture to sink into while you're warming yourself in front of the fire. Kids will enjoy a large studio with a ping pong table so mom and dad can sip wine and enjoy a moment together. The large kitchen is designed for a master chef, but can provide something as simple as a cup of coffee. There is a two car garage to keep your vehicle out of the elements so you can enjoy your vacation and not worry about shovelling off your car. This home is truly the very breath of comfort.

About Amy Gamache
Tony, the owner, grew up on this mountain. Picture of him X-country skiing with his father and brother in 1976. Tony wants to share this beautiful place! He grew up on the mountain top at the Moose Mt Lodge until he was 14. Then his parents built this home at the base of the mountain at the pond edge in 1975. Re-modelled in French Chateau style in 2000. A wonderful escape in any season.
Why Amy Gamache chose Hanover
The property has it all, quiet with a pond out front yet can accommodate more than one family for family reunions, and even weddings. The surrounding hills and meadows provide a stunning back- to the ultra-modern conveniences in the house. This property was where Tony grew up and was passed to him from his parents. He and his wife Margaret were married in Hanover and had their reception on the property.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
Close to Hanover, Dartmouth College, Mary Hitchcock Hospital, yet in the country with great hiking and skiing all around. The pond is cool even in peak summer. Trout jump and frogs croak. Winter is silent and beautiful. Autumn is an explosion of colour. Spring is fresh.

Great family get-away!
We just spent a wonderful week in the Hanover area. The house was the perfect location for our daily travels to see all of the beautiful fall colors. The house has everything we cold have asked for and more. The seven of us had more than enough room to spread out and enjoy our time together. The kitchen was very spacious and well equipped. We did bring along a crockpot and griddle. Our manager was quick to answer any of our questions and believe me I had a lot of them. It was great to be out in the country but yet close enough into either Hanover or Lebanon to get groceries, rent bikes , or go out to eat. We would totally recommend this property again.
beautiful etna property
This home is absolutely lovely. My extended family stayed here over a perfect June weekend. We sat outside and watched fireflies and stars at night, grilled on the deck, played pingpong, and went for runs in the area. The house is set up for mingling and is very comfortable, and is close to Hanover. The manager was very responsive and great to work with. We loved staying here and hope to be back!
New Hampshire Nirvana
This lovely home and amenities exceeded my expectations by far. Our family stayed here for a Dartmouth graduation, gave a small party on the deck and enjoyed every minute of our time at this picturesque, beautifully appointed home.
A place of beauty and peace
This property is absolutely idyllic. The beautiful house is imaginatively designed, with a spacious living room and dining room, a cozy gas fireplace, a huge master bedroom and bath and two other lovely bedrooms on the second floor (with two other rooms that have sleeper sofas), wall-to-wall bookcases, and a playroom with a ping pong table and other games. It is exquisitely and also comfortably furnished. Every detail is first class, from soft sheets and lush towels to attractive dishware. The house is surrounded by lovely gardens, with outlying green fields and a large pond in front to the house, and forests beyond the fields. Sitting out on the deck, enjoying the peace and beauty and quiet, one can feel they are in heaven.
Great Home for a Family Get Together
This was the perfect house for our extended family from all over the country to get together, reconnect and relax.
The setting is wonderful and very close to Hanover for supplies, shopping, etc.
We found the home to actually be larger that the pictures implied. It was in great shape when we arrived, not a speck of dust, plenty of kitchen dishes, cup, utensils, etc. The home has great common space and plenty of areas for more one-on-one conversation.
The property manager was easy to work with and responsive.
I would recommend the property highly.
Map
Tucked away on a classic old New England Rd, this property is still only seven miles from the Dartmouth College campus and all the cultural activities that surround it. It also boasts easy access to the Lake Sunapee and Mascoma Lake areas as well as a myriad of ski areas. For the night owls, the property is only minutes from the Upper Valley's large assortment of restaurants, bars and clubs. Furthermore, the Quechee hot air balloon festival and Quechee Gorge are both located within minutes from the front door.
