My name is Yonatan Elkayam. As an Artist, Entrepreneur, and a resident of Downtown Los Angeles for over 7 years I have seen the growth and have been part of it. My love for this fast paced city grows each day as I uncover new places to eat, and wonderful venues for night time activities. Los Angeles is the best city in the world for live music these days, and without a doubt Downtown is the heartbeat of it all. Never a dull moment and always inspiring, you'll find me all over this centralized area, usually walking at all hours of the day and night. I was born and raised in this city, and feel blessed to call Downtown my home.
Paula Samuel purchased this condo in 2012
There are few locations that compare to this one. The quality of restaurants, bars, and night clubs in the immediate vicinity are unparalleled. While at the same time if it's privacy that you seek, the building is quiet and clean. With history and classic style this apartment was a no brainier as an investment. However, my goal was to create a modern luxurious space within the backdrop of history, culture and style.
Aside from the location and accessibility, the building provides a 24 hour door man, making safety a top priority. Just downstairs you will find shopping, local eateries, art galleries and museums as well as a local cafe that delivers food to your doorstep 24 hours a day. With a wonderful roof that gives you a stunning 360 degree view of the city, this location truly has it all. Furthermore, the LA metro system is walking distance, opening up quick and easy direct routes to Hollywood, Pasadena, Long Beach and West LA. There is virtually nothing out of reach from this location.
The apartment is thoughtfully appointed for a long stay. Clean and well-maintained. Highly recommended. There's AC and full sized washer and drier, comfortable bed and furnitures. The apartment manager and owner respond quickly to enquiries.
Downtown Los Angeles is great. Lots of wonderful affordable restaurants and activities for whatever floats your boat. Definitely a return is in order.
This was the best property, the best interior, the best location, and the best property manager of three VRBO condos that I've stayed in downtown for work. The interior smells nice, is comfortable, and has a TV in the bedroom as well as the main area. The location is the downtowniest part of downtown, with the most restaurants and nightspots and breakfast spots, I would recommend the Nickel Diner and Botega Louie. Paula is nice, flexible, fair, and responsive.
Overall the best property in all categories.
We rented this corner unit on the 11th floor of this gorgeous 1911 centrally located downtown LA building for my mother when she was visiting. The unit is lovely—nicely appointed, quiet, comfortable, airy. It is set up for visitors and the seven oversize windows let in plenty of natural light. My mother loved it. And Paula Samuel, the manager, is charming, conscientious, and a pleasure to deal with.
Good location in downtown. Paular is a very nice lady, she prepared everything you need before. And she sent me the mail when there're some interesting affairs occurred.
We enjoyed our 2 month stay in this apartment very much. The apartment is comfortably furnished with a huge bed, sleeper couch, dining table, washer/dryer, and a well-stocked kitchen. The building is lovely (especially a couple of the doormen/women) and the roof is a very pleasant place to sit and enjoy the urban views. Paula Samuel, the incredible managing agent, is a wonderful human being. Not having a car (though there is a parking space included), we frequently walked to Chinatown, Little Tokyo, the Mexican Pueblo, Gehry/Disney Concert Hall, the historic public library, MOCA, Grand Central Market, Union Station, Staples Center, and took the Metro/bus to Long Beach, Hollywood, Koreatown, Museum of Natural History, USC, South Pasadena, LACMA, and Echo Lake. The apartment is in the heart of the jewelry district which has an astonishing number and variety of restaurants and music venues. The art deco architecture is faded but beautiful, and much is being renovated. Downtown can be noisy at times (film crews, revelers, traffic) and there is a significant homeless population. Not for the faint-hearted, but offset by the history, culture, and unique variety of neighborhoods that are all around you.
I had one of the greatest vacations mainly due to this loft. It gives you the LA feel and lifestyle, I truly enjoyed it. On the eleventh floor with a great view to near by buildings and banks. Also, Paula was a great and down to earth host who provided most of the essentials in the loft like the coffee, utensils, and all laundry and personal hygeine care items. I would definitly recommend this loft if your visiting LA, I definitly will choose no other place when I come to LA again.
Downtown has many, many amenities including the Disney Concert Hall, MOCA, Dorothy Chandler Theater, spectacular Live Theaters on Broadway, LA Live with restaurants, theaters, Staple Center, Nokia Theater, Grammy Museum, shopping, Ralph's Grocery Store, Grand Central Market, farmer's markets, all in walking distance.
