This large villa can accomodate 2 to 14. It is a four bedroom / 3 bath property. There is interior living space, screened in living/ kitchen/ lounging space and a large deck space beyond that is not screened in and is ideal for sitting in an Adirondack chair and nature watching or sun bathing. Delight in being totally immersed in nature- beautiful rock formations, enormous trees, hummingbirds, deer, gecko, iguanas, occasional chicken, donkey and goat. Lull yourself to sleep with the symphony of tree frogs. Comfy mattresses, new high thread count linens. This is a great alternative for travelers who love Maho and Concordia for their low prices and connectivity to nature but also want modern conveniences and comfort they don't offer- like comfy mattresses (the Queens are top of the line Serta mattresses), real full size refrigerator, powerful ceiling fans, reliable electric heated hot water. This property is in the mountain, so it can get cool at night. You might find yourself turning off the ceiling fans at night so you don't get too cool! St. John is an expensive island; I am offering comfortable accommodations at a low price so you can afford to really enjoy the island. There is so much to do and see; if you 'do' St. John right, you will be out during the day and only primarily using the villa to sleep, cook and shower. So why get an expensive villa when you will likely be out exploring!! Plus, you will feel a connectivity to nature that you will never experience staying at an inn in busy, city-like Cruz Bay. Enjoy a full size modern refrigerator and cooking facility consisting of a 2-burner gas stove cook-top set in the thick concrete counter-top. Brand new microwave, toaster oven large enough for a small pizza, blender, coffee maker, etc. All basic utensils and plates, etc provided. Save money by cooking at home that local fresh Mahi or Wahoo filet you bought from the local fisherman or caught yourself. Caribbean lobster is plentiful if you know how to catch them! Contact me for advice on car rentals. I have an info sheet with helpful information. you have to request that if you want me to email it to you. RATE SCHEDULE: $420 for seven nights ($60 per night) is for low season (summer in the US); rates are higher in high and shoulder seasons. HIGH SEASON (Christmas until April) prices start at $99 per night. Christmas and New Years up until January 5 there is holiday pricing. Low season is also a great time to come to the island- warm water, no crowds and low nightly rates. Click email manager to contact me.
We just spent ten days at Tree-top hideaway and had a great time! This was our second time staying there, we spent a week there in April. The units are super clean, the location is fantastic, and you really feel like you are staying in a tree house. We were regulars at Maho Campgrounds before it closed. This is a more luxurious but still laid back version. Definitely get a car and explore the island. Highly recommend!
My two teenage boys and I stayed at treetops for one week. We were expecting the mid-cabin but when we arrived we were upgraded to the large 2-bedroom unit. The entire property is clean and well managed. I was looking for a quiet get-away and this place was perfect. Our favourite thing was the night-time sounds, it was amazing -- truly like sleeping in a treehouse. Both the initial online booking and the onsite management were professionally carried out, I appreciated the advance email with car rental and grocery store suggestions. Excellent value and a nice change from the ordinary -- we plan to return
Husband and I stayed here instead of camping at Cinnamon because of the lure of hot shower options was easy considering the price! Clean and comfortable, more amenities than you would ever have camping. While the sleeping space is tight, the screened porch is spacious and the deck is huge! There are great restaurants in Coral Bay which is walk-able if you are adventurous. A jeep is needed for the driveway, which is steep and curvy, but that is part of the charm :) There was a cat that was hanging out when we were there, probably gone now, but we thought she was also a great feature.
We had originally planned to stay at Cinnamon Bay but the weather looked bad for the whole week of our trip. I found the VRBO/Home Away listing for this place and fortunately they had one unit available for the dates of our trip. It was nearly perfect for us. A big step up from camping but still offering a feeling of being immersed in nature. The price Charles charges for these units is very fair. If you are more then 3 or 4 people try and get the top unit it has 2 bedrooms as well as an extra day bed. We were 5 people in the second unit and it was great but a little tight. The place has everything you need. Frig, multi burner stove, comfy beds and an awesome deck. The view from the deck is stunning.
Donny the caretaker is a great hardworking guy. We didn't need him during our stay but I have no doubt he would have been super helpful.
Since the driveway gets mentioned a lot, I will say it is not as bad as has been reported. There is no chance of driving off the edge, it is steep and unpaved and you will need a 4x4 but once you've done it once you should be good.
Next time I'm headed to St John I will definitely be staying here again…I might even come back just to stay here!
My wife and I spent three nights in one of the smaller units and absolutely loved it! Unit was very clean and well kept. It is perfect for those who don't like being around large crowds of tourists and noise. The only noise you hear is that of the birds and lizards...and yes, apparently the lizards do make noises. The very large decks are worth the price themselves! Also the screened in porch/kitchen is nice for getting away from the mosquitos at night. The units are only minutes from several local restaurants and stores as well as amazing snorkeling! Can say without a doubt this is one of the best deals we've ever had on vacation!
Just returned from a lovely trip to St John, and my first stay at Treetop. I think all the other reviewers provided great descriptions, and the listing details are completely accurate, so I won't go over that. I loved our stay here! It is very basic, but has everything you need, in a quiet, private setting. Beds and sheets are really comfortable, bathroom has a hot shower, screened porch and large deck are nice spaces to relax, and the setting is peaceful and refreshing. Very clean and well maintained, and very friendly and flexible manager, Donny. Loved the night sounds! Bring your 4x4 jeep and bottled water, and a few snacks, and enjoy this gorgeous island. Thank you Charles, for offering this fantastic and affordable retreat!
Located up the hill called 'Costanzo Road' right before you get to Island Blues. About half a mile up.
