This large log home features soaring ceilings and fantastic water and woods views. Comfortably sleeps 26 with 6 beautiful baths. Custom kitchen, leather furniture, large screen TV. 700 waterfront feet provide rare privacy on a sand bottom, clear lake. Great swimming, skiing boating, tubing, canoeing and fishing. Enjoy a day on the water followed by grilling on the 2 tiered deck overlooking the lake followed by a campfire on the flagstone patio. Great hiking, biking and wildlife viewing. Many golf courses available within 20 minute drive. Sorry, but no pets. A family member is highly allergic to pet dander.
I bought a campfire girls camp in 1995 that was 60 acres on two lakes. I kept the best 20 acres and the best 400 feet of water frontage and built a large log home for my 5 daughters and large extended family in 2000. Now that my daughters are grown and spread out I decided to share some of the beauty of this wonderful place. I recently purchased the 110 acres adjacent to my property that has over 1000 feet of additional lake frontage.
We stayed at this "cabin" for 3 nights with a large group and had a wonderful time. The rental is in wonderful condition - clean, neat, well-appointed and tastefully decorated. From reading the reviews I knew it would be spacious and that proved to be true. Our group had a great time relaxing in the living room with the fireplace going and sledding down the hill in the backyard (perfect for little kids).
Our family enjoyed every aspect of our vacation, the home was beautiful, very clean and we found everything we needed. Our family remarked how relaxing and peaceful it was and we had ample room for everyone. We will be going back next year. Dave was wonderful to work with.
The setting for this home is picturesque and fairly private, although we went at Thanksgiving when the lake was pretty deserted. It is quite a ways from a main highway for those coming from out of state. It is a large area that was great for our gathering, although upon entry it was worn and not as clean as we hoped. We were a little angry upon our arrival to note that the 14th bedroom had now become an office, as we had a large party and had spent quite some time making sure everyone had a comfortable and private place to stay. Our first evening together was spent trying to shift people without upsetting anyone, knowing we were all paying the same for less than equal facilities. We had couples bunking with children and children in the living areas sleeping which was not the original plan. That really put a damper on our stay. Also note the bunk beds are not comfortable for adults.
The kitchen was great for making meals with that large a bunch and note when renting the cleaning fee clause. We were under the impression that if we left the place in good shape, stripped the beds and brought everything down to the laundry room, we would get our whole deposit back. Evidently, unless you clean the whole house and wait for 13 bedrooms full of sheets and towels to wash and to put away, remaking the bed - cleaning the showers and bathrooms - vacuuming and mopping - all before checkout time of 11 am-you will be charged a cleaning fee that will come out of your deposit. That explains why the place was not as clean as we felt it should be. We assumed that the cleaning was part of our rental fee - like a hotel or resort.
The living room was perfect for visiting and it was nice that the pool table was downstairs. The website also said there were gaming systems and games but none to be found. It appears the website needs some updating. We enjoyed our visit but these are things you should be aware of before renting and signing the contract.
My parents, siblings, their children, great grandchildren and other relatives either stayed here or visited for an afternoon during our week-long vacation stay. The house is huge, beautiful, and comfortable. It provides everything a group would want or need for a large family vacation. The lake is small and shallow, but we had lots of fun swimming (especially the little ones because it was shallow, warm and sandy) and fishing. The owner, Dave, was very accommodating and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend this rental to any family. I only wish we could make it a yearly event!!
Our family has stayed here for a winter weekend 2 years in a row now and have loved it more every time. The home is huge and allows us an opportunity for all to be together and yet has a very warm and cozy feel. It is very well kept and is stocked with everything you could need. The owner is very accommodating and available if needed. Many wonderful and warm memories were created here. Thanks Dave!
Stayed in this cabin with several other families for an extended weekend and could not have been more impressed or happy with our stay. Each family was able to have their own room most with at least a double bed if not more. Wonderful huge living spaces including the kitchen, dining table, and two living rooms. Never had a problem finding space for our large group to spend tme together. Property owner Dave was extremely helpful and accomodating. Not a single complaint about our entire experience. All families that stayed already talking about when we can go back.
