This restored farm house has beautiful wood trim. The original wood flooring has been refinished. The furnishings have been selected to reflect the early period of the home but with comfort in mind. The period style sitting chairs and love seat all recline to make watching a movie on the 3D TV and Blu-ray player a comfortable experience. The large bedroom has two full size beds and plenty of closet space, the second bedroom has a full size bed with a beautiful handmade quilt. The kitchen is fully furnished and even includes some staples like flour, sugar, peanut butter etc. The bathroom includes a jetted tub and a separate shower. The yard is large and spacious with plenty of room to park ATV trailers and extra vehicles. The patio is equipped with a gas barbeque grill and dining table as well as chairs for lounging in the shade while the kids play on the spacious lawn. The home is centrally located to Capital Reef National Park, Fish Lake, and the Fremont Indian State Park. For ATV enthusiasts the Piute ATV Trail System, which has over 900 miles of trail, can be accessed directly from the house. A listing of suggested routes can be provided to make your experience on the trail system memorable. Three mountain bikes can be provided on request. These are great for cruising around town or riding some of the nearby trails.
I grew up in this house. I have spent the last several years restoring my childhood home. My most recent project was getting the wood floors restored and installing wood trim to augment the existing trim. My husband and I love the area and the opportunities it provides for ATV riding, fishing, mountain biking and hiking. I also enjoy playing golf in Richfield.
Barb Bode purchased this farmhouse in 2001
This property belonged to my parents. After they passed away we decided to do some serious remodleing, you know get rid of the pink carpet and wall paneling as well as the purple shag carpet in the bedroom, and turn the home into a vacation rental.
Plenty of parking for ATV trailers or extra vehicles. Nice patio to sit and enjoy the weather. Deer can often be seen walking down the road or munching on crabapples or hay stacks. Two mountain bikes are available for use. Use this as a base to see the nearby state and national parks.
This was a great place to stay. Our family spent spring break down in Glenwood and we brought our RZR and four-wheeler for some outdoor fun. We were able to ride to trails directly from the house and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely visit again.
My family of 6 enjoyed our time at this cozy home in Glenwood! The location was perfect for us as we traveled to Capitol Reef, Fremont Indian State park, and Cove Fort for spring break. The house is clean and well stocked with everything we needed and more. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family!
We just spent the weekend in this property while attending a wrestling tournament for my son. It was in a great location. Very quiet and had everything we needed. Much better than staying at a hotel.
It is nestled in a very small and quiet community about 5 miles from the larger town of Richfield, UT. The ATV trails are right down the road about two blocks down which I used for trail running while I was there and saw over a dozen deer the last morning I was there. The property was well kept. Our kids introduced themselves to the horse and the goat. The inside was very clean and well stocked. Beds were comfortable. The floors were very squeaky but understandable for an older home with charm (includes many of the original door knobs). This was a very affordable rental for our large family and definitely beats a cramped hotel room anyday!
Stayed at this lovely pace while deer hunting up at fish lake. Couldn't of asked for a better place lots of amenities and very convenient. Look forward to staying here again next year.
The house was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. Barb was very helpful and was accommodating she washed all linens with fragrance free laundry detergent weeks before we arrived. The cleaning lady could use a little more elbow grease as the fridge/freezer and kitchen, light switches, jacuzzi tub was a little on the dirty side. I had to do some cleaning upon arrival but I'm sure that was'nt Barbs fault. We experienced the same problem with a few other vrbo. If the owner lives in a different state/city the cleaners think they won't know if the house is dirty. We loved the horse and little goat the are next door. To make the home a little more comfortable, I would have a couch that you can lay down on in the living room where the only tv is. Never did figure out net flicks on t.v.
Would stay again regardless of cleanliness.
Thank you Barb for having us. Loved the Atv trails and Jamboree!
If you like the outdoors this is the place for you. You can ride the Paiute ATV trail, go mountain biking, or start a hike right from the front porch. Try your hand at fishing at Fish Lake, Koosharem Res, on the Sevier river, or in one of the many mountain lakes and streams. Visit Capitol Reef National Park, Fremont Indian State Park, Big Rock Candy Mountain. Go rafting on the Sevier River. I grew up in this area and can provide personal insight on where to go and what to see.
