Our home is located on Carolina Beach penisulas known as the North End. We are located one mile from the boardwalk and 1/2 mile from the Fishing Pier. We have five bedrooms (three with bathrooms), four and a half bathrooms. We are Unit #1 of a duplex. All living areas are located on the top floor and are bright, wide open and airy with picture windows and decks on both the front and back.
We can sleep up to fourteen people in three queen beds, one double bed, two twins (which can be combined as one king), one fold out couch, and a futon. The couch and the futon are in two of the bedrooms. Three of the bedrooms have private baths, two of which have jacuzzi bathtubs. And we have an elevator!!
Our house has six decks, three facing the canal with great canal views and three facing the ocean, two of which have fabulous ocean views.
TVs are in the living room and all five bedrooms. We have cable TV and wireless internet.
We live in Durham, NC and have been visiting the North Carolina Coastal Region for over 25 years. When we decided to purchase a second home it was natural to head to the beach. Carolina Beach has lots of amenities and a home town feel that we love, but is so close to Wilmington we can easily go into town for a change of scenery if desired.
Chris Martin purchased this house in 2011
Rhonda, our realtor, who is great, saved this house for last. So, after a long day of checking out properties we drove down Canal Drive. When we saw the views from nearly every room in our home we fell in love. It was ours in less than a month and we go to the beach and enjoy our home on a regular basis.
The elevator helps since my parents also visit often. We love sitting on one the many decks reading in the morning sun, watching the waves on the ocean or watching the sun setting on the canal. This place is special and we want to share it with you!!
It is too presumptuous and disrespectful to say "home sweet home"? We hope not because it felt like coming home. This year we were again greeted by the big expansive windows in this beach-themed house that afforded us the most gorgeous views of Carolina Beach and the canal. We made the most of all six decks and appreciated being so close to the Atlantic. My father (and well, all us--but especially my father) remains ever grateful for the elevator, which creates ease of access from entry to every floor of this four-story wonder. Without a care for parking, we had access to everything--with the Boardwalk a bike ride or golf cart's jaunt away from the house. We could even see fireworks from the top deck. This house is in the perfect location, and we could not ask for more conscientious and concerned owners. We are so grateful for such a wonderful place to create family memories that will last a lifetime. Until next year...
We fell in love! What an amazing home with awesome waterfront views! Huge windows and beachie-themed rooms create airy, open spaces throughout the entire castle! As they say in real estate--LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! A block from the beach, a stone's throw from the Boardwalk, and close proximity to the pier added unexpected convenience that accommodated all our party's individual interests. Comfy furniture, stocked essentials, and a much welcomed elevator made this 3-story, 6-decked home-away-from-home a luxury for me and my family! Before we even settled in well, everyone was inquiring about renting again! ThankS for an awesome setting for an amazing family vacation! Until next year...
This duplex is gorgeous in a great setting. The ONLY improvement I would suggest is that the double bed on the ocean-side first floor unit be replaced with a queen.
I have rented many times along the Carolina coast and I found this rental to be one of the best values for the money. Awesome views on both sides and close proximity to the beach. Bedrooms well decorated and comfortable, a plus is the well stocked kitchen which came in handy for things that we had forgotten. I own a vacation home at CB but rented this for visiting family and friends (too many to fit my home) and would definitely do it again.
My wife's large family from Nebraska wanted a beach vacation. I have been traveling to the NC coast annually for over 30 years for beach vacations and we were looking for a place large enough to support her family yet be close enough to other attractions that the kids had something other than the beach to do. In this house, everyone was happy.
In over 30 years of beach vacations, I can state unequivocally that this has been the best beach house that I've stayed in. The pictures online do not do it justice. It is quite large and has an amazing top floor family room, kitchen and dining room to seat all that you bring with you. It has amazing views of the canal and the ocean as well as a relatively spacious (for a beach house) backyard for grilling, games and children. The presence of an elevator may seem excessive when you first read about it online; however, after carrying a heavy cooler or groceries up the four flights of stairs once or twice, you'll quickly grow to appreciate the elevator.
In addition to the wonderful home, the owner is very responsive should anything occur. During our vacation the air conditioning went out, but the owner was in action as soon as we contacted him and within hours the AC was fixed and the house was cooling down.
In general, if you have a large group or need 5 bedrooms and you are looking for an amazing beach house to have a great family vacation, this is the pick of the litter. I can give it no higher recommendation.
