About Erin & Eric

We're both from the South. I'm from Florida, he's from Alabama. We love Florida's beaches and enjoy having pleasant weather all year-round. With careers in the military and foreign service, this home allows us to put down roots in a part of town that has it all: old Florida charm, downtown access to restaurants, shops, and culture, & proximity to the beach!

Erin & Eric purchased this house in 2013

Why Erin & Eric chose Gillespie Park

This home is a gem in a neighborhood of similarly restored historic houses affectionately known as the Painted Ladies of Gillespie Park! We loved the care and positive energy that the previous owners brought to the house and hope to continue the tradition. By inviting guests to enjoy the house, we hope the home will continue to be filled with love even during the times we're unable to enjoy it ourselves.

What makes this house unique

Amazing downtown location. Beautifully-cared for home. Historic Florida charm. Modern amenities include central air-conditioning, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and more.

Perfect home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Oh the fun we’ve had in this beautiful home away from home. My husband and I were expecting our first child and we rented this perfect little cottage 2 blocks away from our birthing home to await his arrival. It was everything we had hoped for. Close to everything including walking distance to Whole Foods, The Breakfast House (a must), the Saturday morning farmers market & Gillespie Park to name a few. The cottage has everything you might need for a pleasant stay including wonderful neighbors who know all the cool spots around town. Check out the iRide for free shuttle service around the neighborhood. Our favorite time of day was in the morning sitting out front in the comfy adirondak chairs nestled just under the swaying bamboo, it can quickly turn into an instant nap. The historic street the cottage is located on is full of charm, lots of bird and squirrel activity and kind neighbors out for strolls. The owners Erin & Eric are the best of the best! At least 3 or 4 times we had to extend our stay due to the babies late arrival. They were more than accomodating & even gave the baby a very generous gift! They truly made the experience that much greater just by being so in touch and caring. They made us feel welcomed and truly at home. This precious cottage will forever be remembered as our 2nd home and the very special place where we brought our first born home to. Any time we stay in Sarasota we will be booking this treasure to revisit our happy moments of becoming a family.

Owner's Response: We are so honored that our home could be a sanctuary for you during this beautiful journey to parenthood. We welcome your little boy to this world and thank you for letting us share your joy. By the way, great tips about the nearby shops and restaurants as well as the new iRide service. The city of Sarasota is always thinking of new ways to offer more conveniences for residents and visitors alike.

Very charming! House is quaint and roomy, the neighbers were very friendly!

Wonderful location to everything we wanted. We rode bikes or walked to downtown for restaurants and shopping as well as enjoying the sites at the marina and parks alone Sarasota Bay. Lido Beach was a 7 minute drive. Siesta Beach was a little further to drive but if going down Osprey instead Tamiami, it only took 15 to 20 minutes. Restaurants everywhere had delicious food. We brought our dog and she enjoyed walking around Gillespie Park.

Cute downtown home

  • 5 of 5

The Tangerine house was perfect for my husband and I plus our poodle. It had a perfect location and was stocked with everything you need. It had a garage and we were able to put our Honda Ridgeline truck inside. The beds were comfortable and it was very clean. The location was perfect. You can walk to the grocery stores ( Whole Foods) and walk to the restaurants. A wonderful place is the Rosemary Café. We even walked to the Marina. I took our dog out to the park every day which was 2 blocks away. There is a carriage house which can have a tenant and it was occupied when we were there. There was not a problem with privacy. The internet was super fast which we really appreciated. If we come back to Sarasota we would stay there again.

Cute little house in excellent condition. Very nicely furnished,.

  • 4 of 5

Close to Main Street Sarasota. Our immediate area was very nice. Having the carriage house occupied cut down on privacy just a bit but that was not a problem for us, The property managers were very helpful and responsive. Overall, Tangerine Dream worked out very well for our February stay.

Owner's Response: Dear Jeanne, We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay, the house, and the neighborhood as much as we do. We're also very lucky to have a great property management team. We know the new carriage house means a shared driveway/grill area, so we did our best to create distinct outdoor spaces for each home with the porch for the carriage house and patio for the main house. It is good to know that the home worked well for you guys and we wish you warm memories from Florida. All the best, Erin & Eric

Old Florida Classic

  • 5 of 5

Underscoring previous reviews about the location in a charming old Florida neighborhood. Great walks to Main Street, Fruitville Avenue shopping, and the Regal 20. Impeccable inside, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds and furnishings. This house has been sensitively upgraded and adapted from its 1920's origins. Publix Market is a three minute drive. The Rosemary and Station 400 restaurants are excellent and a seven minute walk away. All around a great place. Two bathrooms for two bedrooms is a bonus. The property managers are attentive and responsive.
