About Rhonda

After looking for several months, this property was purchased in 2007. The residential development was selected because it is both beautiful as well as one of the finest in area. Chalet construction began in 2007. Hidden Ridge began receiving guests in February 2008.

Rhonda purchased this chalet in 2007

Why Rhonda chose Natural Bridge

This property is in the nicest development in the area. Not only extremely convenient but scenic too. Perfect for small groups of hikers, climbers and cyclists. Also good for motorcyclists looking for paved roads and spacious parking.

What makes this chalet unique

Close to everything in Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge. Close to highways and other modes of transportation, 50 minutes southeast of Lexington/airport, all drives and parking areas are paved. Beautiful view, exclusive neighborhood, nice amenities, and welcoming decor.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great stay here. Short drive to the state park, many hiking trails, and even rock climbing at Torrent Falls.

Lovely Cabin

  • 4 of 5

Hidden Ridge was a very nice cabin. It had all the amenities we needed. There are neighbors nearby, but it is still secluded. Very convenient to trails and scenic drives. There were some fees that are not disclosed in the price advertised on HomeAway until you go to book. Also, they ask you to clean even though they charge a cleaning fee. Just know that these things are part of the bargain but that the property is worth it!

Owner's Response: Hi Allison, Thank you for the review. We always appreciate it! Wanted to clarify a few things so if you book through VRBO again. VRBO will always charge a service fee. It shows the fee during check out. You can opt out if you decide that fee is not worth it. It is not unlikely for owners to not charge a pet fee, some simply say no pets. We allow dogs because many people hike with dogs, or they are service dogs or like me just love dogs! Our fee for one dog indeed is $75, I think you had two, so there was a genuine break given there! Which we do for many people. Just a bit confused about the Cleaning fee comment. WE do not charge a cleaning fee! There are cleaning products available for use as there is laundry detergent available for our guest. We generally feel that most of our guest keep the place nice and that's why we keep cleaning products available, our guest typically like that and our housekeepers need them.. We do ask our guest to put any used linens down by the washer, so she can get right to it and laundry always takes time. So it's just a nice thing to do for our cleaning ladies. However, for future reference please remember to check the invoice before you opt to make a payment. There you see the fees applied and there were no hidden fees on your invoice. Rent, pet fee, tax, service fee That was it. Thanks again Hope you come back to visit Rhonda

Perfect setting for Red River Gorge getaway

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hidden Ridge. The property was clean and well maintained. This mountain cabin is perfectly located for a visit to the Red River Gorge area--just a few minutes to Natural Bridge State Park and all the hiking and climbing in the region. There is a nice little trail behind the house up to the ridgeline; we are birders had a great time birding right on the property! The deck is a great place to hang out when you're not out seeing the sights; just be prepared for bugs. :) We fell in love with the whole Red River Gorge area and look forward to returning. We hope Hidden Ridge will be available next time we're in the area!

Great Cabin and Location

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I spent a long weekend at the cabin in the beginning of June. Its nicely appointed and maintained. One of the best maintained property I've stayed at through VRBO/AirBnB. We enjoyed the hot tub at night after long days of hiking/canoeing. Its location in the Gorge is convenient to amenities like restaurants as well as the trials. We would definitely stay again.

Nice stay at hidden ridge

  • 4 of 5

Lovely, picturesque spot and nice cabin. Everything in cabin worked well and was perfect for 4 adults. Amenities were as stated.

Some things we weren't expecting were having to put our sheets on the bed and being asked to put our sheets in the washer when we left. Dozens of labels telling us what to do / not to do in the cabin-common sense things-kind of made us feel not welcome.

Air had been switched off when we were out hiking-not sure if someone had been in the cabin when we were out.

We enjoyed our time together at hidden ridge-wonderful area and a picturesque setting.

Owner's Response: Hi Elizabeth, I'm glad that you were able to give us a four star review. We do try to get back with folks with some explanation as home owners as to why we have certain procedures in place. The sheets: we do not make the bed because it gives all of our renters an opportunity to look at the mattress, the mattress pad and all the bedding necessities. We have had people in the past strip the bed's and then call me to have a maid service come in and remake the bed. Too costly for our renters. By leaving the bed unmade, neatly stacked sheets and towels, it gives you an opportunity to thoroughly look at the bedroom area. The 1/8 inch messages within the cabin: I don't know if you noticed but a renter actually took to carving on our dining room table and wood surfaces. That was very disappointing to us. Hence the small message that states "please respect the wood surfaces." Small messages by the switch plates, "leave a switch on" that is for security purposes. A message on tv remotes, "push big red then little red button. That is to help turn on the TV. Needless to say the TV is always a disconnect with many. Which then causes a maintenance fee to go show our renters how to use the TV..which remote to use and WHICH to not use. Our small messages are not intended to make anyone feel unwelcomed but VERY welcomed and to help with familiarity of the cabin. I think we have had many "like" the messages. Elizabeth hope this clears a few things up for you because our goal is for you to return someday. Thanks with Blessings Rhonda

Wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cabin & wonderful location. Close drive to many hiking trails & points of interest. The hot tub was the best way to relax after a day of exploring, we made use of it every evening. All cooking essentials, bed linens, towels were provided and the cabin decor was lovely with some beautiful natural light through the windows. We have stayed in many different cabins in different areas & this was top notch. We stayed 3 nights & barely touched the area. We will definitely return to explore another section of the Gorge! A special thanks to Rhonda as she was a gem to work with and Thank you for sharing this special place.

Perfect, clean, well appointed, great location for a long weekend in Red River Gorge!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend @ Hidden Ridge in Red River Gorge (RRG). The property was convenient drive from Cincy (just 2hrs). Clean property, located in quiet secluded neighborhood. Located near all of the fun things to do in RRG like hiking to the Natural Bridge and other outdoorsy stuff. It rained half the time we were in RRG but we made the best of it.

Hidden Ridge was well stocked with more than enough amenities where you only need to bring food to cook. We cooked almost all of our meals in the kitchen, which is nicer than ours at home! Inside was very nice and clean. Well appointed, it felt like home. We appreciated the labels and notes throughout that helped direct us to which switches were for certain lights and fans etc.

While we didn't use the hot tub it looked very clean. We did get a lot of use out of the fireplace which kept us toasty while we read books on the couch. We also brought some DVDs from home and watched them in the evening on the provided DVD/ TV @ Hidden Ridge.

When it wasn't raining we enjoyed the large patio for having coffee in the morning and the peace and quiet.

Lastly, Owner was very easy to work with via email, providing much information in advance to help us get the most out of our trip.

We recommend staying @ Hidden Ridge and hope to come back again soon!
