Rione V Ponte Apartment Rental Photos and Description

1double bedroom plus 1 double sofa bed

“Residenza Navona” is a wonderful apartment in Vicolo di Montevecchio, an ancient street of 16th century Rome, a few steps away from Piazza Navona and Pantheon, in the best part of the city.

Even if this area is full of tourists, this small street, being so narrow and very hard for cars to pass, still maintains calm and fashion of “walking Rome”; the street market which takes place every day just behind the street, in Piazza del Fico, is a sign of vitality of this part of the city.

The apartment has a living room with a double sofa bed, a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a cooking area equipped with everything you can need.

One extra bed can be provided for a child only.

The decoration is of high class as this location deserves.

Decent apartment in a great location

  • 3 of 5

For the most part I would agree with the reviews posted so far. The location is excellent - it's a walking distance to most of the tourist locations with Piazza Navona within a few minutes walk and the Colosseum which is a longer walk of about 25 minutes.

The apartment does have an "old world" feel which may not be desirable to some people. I found it to be decent where my wife and kids felt everything was too "dated" They especially didn't like the small bathroom (about 35 sq. ft.) where the shower/bidet area is just separated from the rest of the bathroom by a simple curtain and the shower drains to a floor drain. The bedroom does not have a door - a curtain separates it from the small kitchenette (2 burner gas stove, sink and mini fridge) A door wouldn't really be necessary though since you wouldn't get too much privacy anyway because there is a oval shaped opening in the wall between the bedroom and the main living space.

We didn't really have a need for air conditioning but I was able to figure out how to use it after trial and error. The bedroom has a space heater as well as the main living space that worked well. There is a small TV in the bedroom that was hard to figure out how to operate at first - I thought the remote wasn't working but it's just that the remote receiver is tucked on the back of the unit, not a huge deal since we're there for vacation not watching TV!

The location was also good because there isn't much foot traffic so not too much noise - we did get some noise on occasion I think from people going to the nearby restaurant. Even with that noise you would be surprised how quiet it usually is, especially with how busy Piazza Navona gets which is just down the road.

Ricardo and Stefania were helpful in a arranging airport pickup and drop off. Ricardo also gave us a good walk through of the apartment when we arrived. He showed us how to operate the stove and warned us the water heater might not supply enough hot water if my family of five all used the shower around the same time. My wife and children showered before me and when I used it I did notice that the water cooled off after about 2 minutes in the shower.

In the end I would consider staying here again if just me and my wife were to visit Rome again. My wife would probably prefer a nicer apartment though. I wouldn't stay again with my entire family - there was enough room for all of us but it was just too cramped for all of us.

Fantastic Apartment in Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this wonderful apartment from June 12-17, 2011. The apartment exceeded my expectations. We were traveling with two adults and two older teenagers (18 & 19) and we had plenty of space. The air conditioning in both rooms worked great and was wonderful to have after returning from walking the city all day. The refridgerator was very nice to have as well. We walked to the local grocery and filled it with breakfast pastries, juice, fruit and wine.

The location was so convenient for walking almost anywhere in the city. We were 2 minutes from the Piazza Navona, 4 minutes from the Pantheon, 10 minutes from Vatican City, 15 minutes from the Colosseum and the Forum. We couldn't believe how wonderful the location was!! We felt safe everywhere we walked and in the apartment.

Ugo arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport on the day of our arrival. It was great not having to worry about finding a taxi and/or wondering if they were going to overcharge us. At our request and with short notice, Ugo also provided us a driver to the train station upon our departure.

The apartment truly has the "old city" feel to it and we absolutely loved everything about it. We would not hesistate to stay here again in the future. We recommend this apartment to anyone who wants a cozy, comfortable, safe and convenient place to stay while in Rome.

Thank you very much Ugo, you helped to make our stay in Rome unforgettable.

lieu bien situé

  • 4 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Juillet 2012

Molto accogliente!

  • 5 of 5

I letti comodissimi!

Car: not necessary

Piazza Navona is one of the most famous square in Rome and in the world, in the heart of the city very close to Campo dei Fiori, Pantheon, Vatican and so on.
