This house was built in 1950 as a family home. It has all the amenities to make it your home away from home: fully equipped kitchen, linens, washer and dryer. 2 televisions with dish TV. There are 3 bedrooms and a 'family room' that has a full 'hide-a-bed', so it can be used as a bedroom. There are roll-away beds that can be used and a blow-up, full sized, elevated bed. All of the beds together will enable 12 people to sleep comfortably. The views are spectacular, the small stream running alongside the property has a comforting burble sound. The stream across the road has more of a rushing sound. The garage is a 2.5 car garage with a good concrete floor to keep your bikes/cars out of the weather. The driveway and road from rt-129 are paved. This is the place to make your base of operations for riding the dragon, the blue ridge parkway, the Cherohala sky way, fishing or whitewater rafting in the Cheoah river (6 tenths of a mile away) or enjoying the Santeetlah reservoir. Come in the fall for beautiful foliage and spectacular views of the mountains afire with the colors of fall.
I am a recent Widower. I was looking for a place that my family could go to for vacation and Holidays to rebuild our family without my wife of 47 years. I have ridden the 'Tail Of The Dragon numerous times, my wife actually followed me down it the first time, towing my trailer. This house just felt like home the first time I saw it.

it is located 8 miles from Deals Gap (The Tail Of The Dragon), 6 tenths of a mile from the Cheoah river where me and my grand kids can fish or whitewater raft. I love Robbinsville, it has that quaint 'Hometown' flavor just like all the small towns I have lived in and just like the one where I live now.
A complete 'home'. Not a motel, or a camp-sight. It has a nicely equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, 2 bathrooms and showers with one having a bathtub for that hot water soaking for sore muscles. The bedrooms are nice, with dressers and night stands. The living room and family room have televisions with dish. The garage is nice and dry for motorcycle or car storage. The setting with the mountain views is unmatched by most places i have stayed when riding the dragon. This is truly a 'home away from home'.
This was a little piece of paradise!! It was a great place right in the middle of the Tail of the Dragon and the Cheraohla Skyway! My husband loved riding his bike around!! We loved the waterfalls within minutes and the swinging bridge down the road. The house was clean and very well taken care of!! We will be coming again and cannot wait until we do so!!!!
Love this home perfect we went to ride motorcycles and it was close to all of the things we wanted to do.The home was clean, beds are comfortable, had a house phone so I could talked to our kids every night, perfect garage to park bikes in, and awesome people to deal with. Can't wait to come back next time.
I stayed here last year in july and it was absolutely fantastic. We had several people with us and when we were searching for places to stay none were big enough. This house fit us perfectly and the price was great. When we first arrived I was super excited not only that we were on vacation but that the house fit everything we needed It for. We were on a motorcycle trip so the paved driveway and garage made it that much better instead of having to leave our motorcycles out in the weather or fighting a rocky driveway. When I walked inside I was completely amazed at how much space there was. There were more than enough linens and beds for all of us to sleep in. The owner is doing a wonderful job and I Will stay here every time I go to North Carolina as long as He has a spot open for us.
The house is a great base for exploring the roads in the area, it is located between Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway, and one cannot go wrong with either.
The firepit in the back is nice, as well as garage.
We have rented this house multiple times, while participating the Dragon Hillclimb and it works well for groups too. Clean, kitchen has everything needed, and asphalt roads all the way into the garage.
Rick, the owner is a great guy to deal with as well. Recommended!
Rick is a great host. Communication was just right with directions that were easily followed. Late arrival was not an issue. Property is neat with rabbits running around beneath the apple trees and near the creek running down the side of the property.
Accommodations were nice with more than enough room for 3 of us and the garage was excellent for storing the bikes at night. Steaks on the grill were the perfect completion to a day of cruising the curves and taming the dragon!
This house is located about halfway between Robbinsville and Deal's Gap, home of the 'Tail Of The Dragon' rt-129. It is 6 tenths of a mile from the Cheoah river for white water rafting and approximately 4 miles from the Santeetlah reservoir. The house sits at approximately 2000' elevation, surrounded by mountains in the 4000' height range. Robbinsville has everything you need for a relaxing vacation: Ingle's Grocery store, Drug Store's Gas stations, fast food restaurants, ACE Hardware and numerous local Restaurants. The house can be reached on a very well maintained section of rt-129 out of Robbinsville and is situated on a Nicely paved road with a paved driveway. Close to Asheville, Cherokee, Maggie Valley, Pigeon Forge, and Gattlinburg.
