Overview

About the property

Villa, 1 Bedroom, 2 Baths (Sleeps 2-3), 2 Gardens, Garage for 2 wheeled vehicle

Villa Rosinella is located in one of the most exclusive areas of Amalfi, along the famous 163 road connecting all the Amalfi Coast towns, near the well-known Santa Caterina Hotel. The Villa is just renovated and never used before as a vacation rental.

It’s like a gem set in the stone and from its windows, its terrace and the garden it’s possible to admire directly the classical view celebrated by a lot of postcards on Amalfi, a little town with a glorious past of maritime Republic. Thanks to the old tower on its side, guests can feel as ancient romans or as a poet or an artist, enjoying the quiet of these areas for their holidays.

Villa Rosinella, with its 60 sq. m., is a little rarity, for being one of the few accommodations on the Amalfi Coast to have a street level access, with no long flights of stairs or tortuous paths to reach it.

In this gracious villa it is possible to find the best elements of the Amalfi Coast. The sun is already present, due to the extraordinary position. The sea, which the villa directly overlooks to, without elements impeding its view, is crossed by dozens of wonderful boats during the day and typical fish lamps at night, to catch the tasty red squids. The lemons, whose fragrance enjoyable directly from the trees in the garden of the villa, are the basis for many local desserts such as the famous 'Delizie' based on lemon cream, and the liquor 'Limoncello'. The rocks of the Coast draw the lines of the Amalfi Coast in a way that make it one of the most important touristic destinations in the world. The barrel vaults, typical of many ancient homes on the Coast, ensure cool in summer and warm in winter.

Villa Rosinella can accommodate 3 guests in the double bedroom and on a furniture bed, that can be placed in the first room or in the new fitness room. It's ideal for 2 adults and a child up to 14 years old.

Starting from the private garage for 2-wheeled vehicles with a toilet , there is a brand new fitness room (with a private bathroom with shower), a little room with washing machine, a lpg stovetops (if you don't want to cook directly in the villa) and a wash. Then there is a solarium terrace with sunbeds, solar umbrella and a shower. On the terracotta ground, there is a splendid majolica wind rose and there it is possible to live wonderful relax moments under sun or moon light, with the Tyrrhenian Sea in front of the guests.

On the left of the terrace there is the entrance to the internal rooms of Villa Rosinella, actually separated in two rooms and the bathroom, each one with a wonderful view on Amalfi center and the sea.

The first one has a little electric kitchen angle with coffee maker, microwave oven, toaster, grill, fridge with freezer and a complete set of elements for cooking. On the opposite side there is a comfortable furniture-bed for one person. The room is air-conditioned.

The next room is a splendid double bedroom with luxury furniture, air-conditioning, television set and all the necessary for a comfortable staying. Starting from Jan 2017, Villa Rosinella has a brand new and comfortable memory foam matress. It has italian size that is something between queen and king size. The room has a little balcony. overlooking the sea. The room is air conditioned.

After the bedroom there is a large majolica-tiled bathroom with all the accessories, a large shower and a wonderful window on the sea.

Using a panoramic ramp of stairs from the solarium, it’s possible to reach the two levels garden of Villa Rosinella. The first is the smaller one with pomegranate trees, while the second one has beautiful typical Amalfi lemon trees, with a table and chairs for guests. The panoramic view from the gardens is even better.

Villa Rosinella has a daily gardening service operated by totally trusted people that can help guests for any possible issue.

It’s not necessary to have private transportation to stay at Villa Rosinella. It’s possible to park motorbikes or scooter in the private garage and the car just outside of it, without any risk because the area is very quiet.

Otherwise there is a bus stop near the Villa, connecting to the center of Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento and Agerola without other changes. It’s really difficult to find a more versatile solution.

Villa Rosinella is covered by free wireless broadband internet connection.

The nearest beach is the Duoglio one and a private lift service can be used, paying a little daily price reserved to Villa Rosinella’s guest. The access point is one minute on foot off the Villa. In the same position guests will find a good restaurant with special discounts for them.

Transfers to/from train stations or airports and mini-tours in the Amalfi Coast and surroundings are available on request at very special prices..

Checkin point is directly at the villa if not otherwise planned. For mandatory italian registration laws is mandatory to have a copy of all guests passports. Directly at checking guests must pay a total of 70 euro cash for mandatory final cleaning operated by third parties.

Stay with a view!

  • 5 of 5

One of the most amazing stays we had ever had. Gianfranco and Gisseupe are invaluable for making our stay unbelievable. They both made us feel completely at home and like family. A bottle of wine and some juice and snacks were at the house to welcome us. They picked us up at Salerno at night after we missed our train (reasonable service fee), and Gisseupe drove us to Amalfi. I agree with Gianfranco that you don’t need a car to get around, the ferry system is great! The view during the day is amazing. We stayed most of the time in the rental, after sightseeing in a Positano and Amalfi. We would love to stay again!!

Owner's Response: Dear Ivory, thank you very much for your kind review. We are happy you appreciated the care we use to our guests! Amalfi Coast is a little area with ancient streets and so boats are a really comfortable way to visit Amalfi Coast towns and islands (Capri, Ischia and Procida). We hope to have you with us soon again! Ciao e grazie Gianfranco & Giuseppe

Great views but not so convenient

  • 3 of 5

I just re-read the description of the property. With the exception of views..which were great; many other parts of this description are very overstated.

We stayed 4 days. No owner or any one else was on site. We did not get any information about nearby beach or anything else. Bus service in September was very infrequent. We had to walk along a very narrow, busy road to get into Amalfi for food or any needs.

It definitely is NOT a quiet road at night.

Yes, you do access the garage at street level; but there are 40 steps to the apartment.

No way could you sleep 3 people in this apartment.

We booked through VRBO and paid them a $63 fee, then later learned about the E70 that had to be paid upon arrival. So, what initially seemed like a good price for this location ,was not really so good.

Owner's Response: Dear Kathy , thank you for your review! Our description tries to reflect the objective features of Villa Rosinella but it would be anyway useful understanding what parts of it would be overstated to improve it! We took you at Salerno station and let you make checkin with you at Villa Rosinella so it sounds strange reading "No owner or any one else was on site". We strongly believe in customer service and we offer to our guests email, whatsapp, text, phone for information and also the private gardener is available for help. The bus company SITASUD in September has generally a ride to amalfi center every 30 min and to Positano/Sorrento every 1 hour. It could be infrequent for big cities but not for a little area like Amalfi Coast. Boat service from Amalfi center is also strongly suggested in good sea conditions. Our guests generally find the road quiet at night. Light sleepers can close soundproof windows and use silent A/C system present in the 2 rooms. Because we are always concerned about comfort, we have planned in the period Nov 17- Jan 18 additional interventions for sound insulation. From the description: (Sleeps 2-3) "Villa Rosinella can accommodate 3 guests in the double bedroom and on a furniture bed...It's ideal for 2 adults and a child up to 14 years old. If you choose VRBO/HomeAway to book, they adds a fee on the initial cost for their services. 70€ is a fixed amount required for mandatory final cleaning of the property offered by a third operator directly in place. It is payed directly at checkin and is the only additional cost. Thank you again for your stay with us! Ciao ciao Gianfranco

Great view; road noise

  • 3 of 5

I think of this place as one that is really trying; and that is appreciated. We had some bumps along the way with communication and check in with the owner and did not have wifi for most of the stay. More importantly, like others noted, it truly is a fabulous view. Unsurpassed, really. The tough part is that the villa sits directly above one of the busiest roads in the Amalfi coast and the traffic and accompanying noise can be relentless. I slept with noise canceling headphones on most of the time. I admit this is a personal thing. By all means, if you have a strong tolerance for noise, it should be ok and for many, the beautiful view can offset the din. The road also presents challenges if you prefer to walk, which we do. It's kind of dicey getting to and from town given that you are walking in the street. While Amalfi is beautiful, it can also be crowded especially when the cruise ships are in. Our Ravello day trip was a god send for quiet and fewer crowds. I wish I was sad to leave Amalfi but alas, after 4 days it was a bit nerve wracking.

Owner's Response: Dear Suzy, thank you for you review. We are sorry Amalfi Coast in general didn't fully meet your expectations. Regarding communications, sometimes the mixtures of system messages and owners messages could be a bit confusing... We'll try to improve customer relations! Also, we are sorry for internet connection issues: if you had let us know about it, we would have restored wifi at once, because customer satisfaction is our main goal. Villa Rosinella is close to the road connecting to the center of Amalfi and a lot of people love this aspect because there are no long ramps of stairs to climmb and a useful bus stop is available a few meters away. As a lot of guest already said, sometime there is noise at rush hours but quietness during night. Nevertheless we suggest to close soundproof windows at night and use air conditioning if necessary for a total relax. Anyway we are happy you appreciated the view from Villa Rosinella and loved Ravello, the highest expression of Amalfi Coast contemporary culture. Thank you again to stay with us Best regards Gianfranco

Amazing time in Amalfi

  • 5 of 5

We loved Villa Rosinella. The location was perfect. The views were outstanding. The place was very clean when we arrived and the kitchen was stocked with goodies for us. We ate dinner on the terrace a couple of the nights which was perfect. The walk into Amalfi wasn't too bad, hills and steps of course, but close enough that it wasn't too bad. The A/C in the bedroom was broken upon our arrival and wasn't able to be fixed which was the only downside to our stay. It was a hot a couple nights and it is hard to leave the windows open as it can get a little loud from the traffic below. A fan would have helped that and would recommend to the owner to have one regardless for guests. All in all it was a wonderful stay in Amalfi and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a quaint place to stay.

Owner's Response: Dear Dana & Leo, thank you very much for your staying with us and for kind words regarding our Villa. We love to leave in the house some tastes of Amalfi Coast and we are happy you enjoyed them. Sorry for A/C failure... service man had a bad time finding a spare control unit in August! Nevertheless the 2nd air conditioning unit in the first room should help in these situations. Thank you for additional fan suggestion. Hope to have you again with us in Amalfi Ciao ciao Gianfranco & Giuseppe

Lovely!

  • 5 of 5

What a charming property this is... with a view beyond compare!

Upon arrival we were met by Giuseppe who made us feel very welcome. Although we did not meet Gianfranco he was always available by text and was extremely helpful.

We found the kitchen stocked with coffee, wine, juice, cookies, and some bread when we arrived. We were extremely thankful for that as we'd had a long day travelling.

The villa itself is charming with views from every room and a lovely big deck, perfect for coffee in the morning or wine at sunset overlooking Amalfi (it doesn't get much better). The location is great as it's about 10 minutes walk from town. There are also buses that go up and down the road frequently should you want to catch one.

We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend Villa Rosinella!
