Beautiful, cozy cottage. Sleeps 8 in two rooms and a loft. 1.5 baths, washer and dryer, deck, screened in porch and dock complete this oasis on the water. Leroy Island is located between Rochester and Oswego New York. Although an island, there is a bridge for cars to access. For people with their own boats, there is also a boat launch within walking distance. A large yard with fire pit complete.
Located on the east side of Leroy Island, this cottage is very comfortable and on the water. 50+ stair steps to the water and a superb dock. The Queen beds are comfortable, the bathroom is clean as is the kitchen area. A major plus is the large screened-in porch with a couch, picnic table, and chairs. TV and radio work great. 6 miles to Wolcott grocery store and diner++. Importantly, great ownership makes your stay 1st class. Enjoy!!!
Note: No heat. Bring a portable.
My husband, two grown children and I had an absolutely wonderful week at Rose Cottage! Such an amazing place! We had never been to this area and found it to be so peaceful and beautiful. The cottage was everything we had hoped for and more! It had everything we needed and was so delightfully relaxing. All of the homes on the island are so lovely and well maintained. We enjoyed kayaking on the water, exploring Sodus Point as well as day trips to Niagara and Corning to visit the falls and the Glass Museum. We hope to make a return visit!
Wow, our stay was Fantastic!
We arrived at 2am to a wonderful breeze and the Milky Way spread across the night sky. Over the next week we enjoyed the myriad of activities offered on the bay: sailing, skiing, canoeing, swimming, fishing.... endless possibilities. The cottage was very clean, spacious, and very accessible, just steps from the parking area. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch and diners on the screened and open porches. Walks were made around the island with multiple jaunts to Lake and Chimney bluffs, local farmer markets and of course to Sodus Point. Thanks so much Mary!
My family (Mom, Dad, Teenager, pre-Teen and Nana) stayed here for a week and we could not have been more impressed with this beautiful, clean, and cosy cottage. This was our first trip to Sodus Bay (Le Roy island) and we could not have asked for anything more! The property was very well maintained.
Booking: Mary made every effort to respond to my questions promptly and with detail. The reservation was smooth and was completed promptly.
Arrival: Even though I had seen (let's be honest, I must have looked at the cottage pictures about 50 times, but going to a new cottage is always exciting) the cottage in pictures, the real thing was breathtaking. When you first walk in the cottage you are struck by the open concept feel and the fantastic water views.
Our Stay: While at Rose Cottage we made use of the screened in porch every morning. There is nothing quite like having that first cup of coffee and watching the sun rise over the lake. Let's see, we shopped (yes this cottage is only 45 minutes away from the Waterloo Outlet mall), ate at wonderful little restaurants (My mom loved Connelly's Cove and we really enjoyed the breakfasts at Konstantinou Restaurant, located in Ontario, NY about 30 minutes drive), boating (we rented a pontoon from Arney's Marina), swam (while boating), read books on the dock (with a glass of wine), played cards on the screened in porch and so much more. We finished off our stay with a visit to the NY State Fair and watched Kip Moore and Toby Keith perform on stage. SWEET!
Advice for anyone wishing to rent, you should bring a boat or rent one as getting to the really great swimming places requires a boat.
The only complaint I have is that we had to leave. Seriously, I turned to my husband the morning after returning home to Canada and said "I miss the lake".
Thank you Mary for making our experience at your cottage so wonderful.
We got to spend a beautiful, peaceful week at this lovely cottage. Morning coffee out on the screened in porch overlooking the boat dock and bay was the best start to the days activities. Lots of things to see and do in the area, fishing was also good. Awesome sunsets and easy access to Lake Ontario. We enjoyed our vacation so very much and are looking forward to returning and hopefully staying longer. Owners are pleasant and take pride in their property, very clean. Highly recommended this place to all our friends and family. And recommend this place to anyone looking for peace and serenity.
This was just what we were looking for!......A cottage that fit all of our needs! Whether you want to be on the water having fun (water skiing, sea-doing, tubing, swimming....), or fishing (the bay or the lake or our own EXCELLENT dock!), or just relaxing in the living room or from the EXCELLENT screened in porch...we all found what we were looking for!
And the pictures don't do the cottage justice. It was truly great. It had everything we needed from kitchen items to bedding. The kids loved the loft and my husband loved the grill so much he is looking for one just like it for himself! And the screened in porch...perfect!!! We spent most of time there enjoying the breeze, the view, eating meals, playing games and soaking up the relaxing atmosphere.
The hospitality of our hosts was also great! They could not have been more accommodating...a real pleasure!
My family and I will surely remember Rose Cottage and all the fun we had. I'm sure we will be back again!
