About Steve Host

Susan and Steve Host are small business owners in Richmond, Texas.

Steve Host purchased this estate in 2002

Why Steve Host chose Texas Hill Country

Susan and Steve both vacationed at Garner State Park growing up, and always dreamed of having their own place. When they saw the property, they fell in love with it. They built all the structures on the property, and cleared the land. They have created a vacation place for their families and hope you enjoy it as much as they do.

What makes this estate unique

Steve and Susan hand picked where to place the cabins for optimal views as well as to take advantage of the breezes that blow through the porches year round. They have taken a great amount of time, energy and care to make the property a wonderful vacation destination for you and your family.

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay here!!! We wish that we could've stayed longer and had a full day to just spend at the property. It was absolutely beautiful (the pictures don't do it enough justice!). Floating the river was super accessible and easy-tube rentals and access points were not a far drive at all. We would definitely recommend this property and go again!!! And if you go make sure to stop at the bent rim bar and grill down the road for a meal...delicious burgers with a great view. Not much internet or service which made it that much better...totally disconnected and relaxing. Overall an awesome trip and perfect place to stay.

Amazing Property and Accomodations

  • 5 of 5

An absolutely beautiful property. We were welcomed by the ranch hand and shown around the property. I can not tell you how much fun we had. In fact, it was so pleasing, we have already booked for next summer. There is no better choice of properties in this area. Believe me when I say the photos do not give due justice to the property. Thanks to the Host family for sharing your property that allowed us to make beautiful memories.

An Awesome Geteaway Destination!

  • 5 of 5

I have been using Home Away to book vacation rentals for a few years now and this place is hands down the best place we've stayed. Try to stay more than two nights if you can, because you won't want to leave here. We had so much fun exploring the property, playing on the pong table, playing basketball, visiting in the big house, playing in the creek, watching deer and turkeys from the porch, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. It was hard for us to leave the property to go float the frio, we did and we had a blast, but we wish we could have stayed one more day. I'm sure our group will be back. Thank you to Steve and Susan Host for allowing us to rent out your beautiful Property!

Blown away.

  • 5 of 5

My whole family was just blown away by the property and accommodations. The pictures don't do it justice. We had a family reunion at Garner State Park and it rained on and off for most of the weekend. We hated to leave the property to go to the park and the river. We just wanted to sit on that porch and watch the kids play in the rain. It was hard to leave.

Steve, I've got some great photos if you're interested to add here.

This property is absolutely gorgeous and is set up very well for large groups. Loved the crosses and scriptures thought that was an incredible nice touch. Thanks to the Host family for sharing their little piece of heaven here on earth.
